Awesome instrument, especially for the price. Only complaint is slightly sharp fret edges. Not enough to be considered “fret sprout” and easily fixed with a sanding block or file. Otherwise I’d have given it 5 stars. Love the neck and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and sound of the pickup. Much better than expected. Also I prefer the lighter weight body. While the guitar itself was damaged in shipping. This guitar did highlight that the fretwork can be iffy on some of the sonic's. All of the frets had excessive overhang and sharp edges on the high e side of the neck. This isn't to say that all sonics are bad, but just that their QC does range from good to great to how did this make it out of there. I have noticed that on average, the frets on the maple necked versions tend to be far better dressed than the laurel fingerboard versions, and some of the maple necked versions have had better fret work than some of the Fender Mexican Player II series that I have ran across. So, all in all, there is potential there, but make sure to find a good one. ... show more

Sounds good. I've been playing it every day and it seems to stay in tune well and I didn't need to adjust the bridge out of the box, so that helped alot. I'm not a super experienced player so this has been great for me. Really nails that stringy Nivana sound. It also chugs.
