  • My favorite book for teaching rhythm guitar
I love the Watch and Learn series, and this book might be my favorite. Introduces open chords and strum patterns in the context of real songs that are modern and fun to play along with. Also introduces classic riffs and powe chords. I use this book to teach rhythm guitar to all of my guitar students. They enjoy playing along with the audio tracks, which include a real studio band. Bert Casey is an excellent instructor, and the accompanying video lesson is great and easy to follow along. ... show more

  • Online videos are worth the purchase price of the book
Online videos are worth the purchase price of the book. Great hands on experience for picking up my guitar after a 25 year break.

  • Very Good Learner Tool; Needs Page Numbers
Learning to play guitar, so far the intro information and week 1 lesson plan looking good, I am liking it and feel that I am learning. Good book. The big issue I have with the Kindle edition is that the original book page numbers are not displayed. All pages start at Page 1 for cover and run up to the end. The lesson plan calls for selected pages of the physical book, and the pages vary from lesson to lesson -- so you have to subtract, say 5, from the lesson plan number vs. the kindle page number. A bit confusing. Would be nice if the kindle edition kept the original hardcopy page numbers. Other than that, I am excited to move further into the lessons, and am looking forward to using the large variety of audio files that I could get with the download. ... show more
