Description

Looking for a bass that really stands out in a crowd? Check out the Fender MonoNeon Jazz Bass V – an attention-grabbing instrument with killer looks and sound to match. The Bass V is crafted from alder and finished in a bright neon yellow urethane, with a striking orange headstock and pickguard. The one-piece roasted maple neck has a comfortable 10" -14" compound radius fingerboard, perfect for all kinds of playing. And the white pearl block inlays add a touch of elegance. Powering the MonoNeon is a pair of custom-wound Fireball 5-string Bass Humbucking pickups, delivering a fat, punchy tone. The 18v active preamp with 3-band EQ provides plenty of flexibility to shape your sound, whether you're playing rock, jazz, metal, or anything in between. And the Fender HiMass string-through/top-load bridge adds even more resonance and sustain. If you're looking for a bass that makes a statement, the Fender MonoNeon Jazz Bass V is the perfect choice.

  • So far, so good- I'm amazed at the finish and active electronics.
My previous experience and benchmark for evaluating this Mononeon Jazz Bass V is a 10 year ownership of an American Standard Jazz Bass V from 2012, which is a full passive set up. The finish on this bass is equal to if not better than my old JB. It seems to hold tune better and in passive mode it sounds a lot like my '12. But when you flick the active switch this thing really comes alive. It reminds me of having a Peavey T40 on steroids in terms of tonal capability, between passive and active modes. The Volume, Pan, Stacked Tone, and Midrange knobs take a little getting used to, but I'm in love with this guitar. The playability out of the box is just as good as my 2012. I'd say get one if you'r on the fence and looking for a super comfortable Jazz Bass with an improved active electronics set up. PS: My custom 100w tube amp sounds WAY better with this bass in active mode...I can't really believe it. I can turn the amp way down and use the guitar to boost volume, bass, and all other tone controls. I'm super impressed. It's really fun to play, time just goes away when I'm plugged in with this combo. ... show more
