  • Well made guitar
Color: Metallic Black Style: HSS Strat
Very nice guitar at a good price. Well packaged. Right out of the box the set-up was almost perfect. Action was perfect and intonation only required minor tweaking on one string. I have a number of Fender products and the sound of this Squire Strat is comparable to the made in Mexico Fender Strats at less than a third of the price. Squire has come a long way in producing quality guitars in recent years. ... show more

  • Mine Is Perfect
Color: Olympic White Style: HSS Strat
The only negative on this is that the body is slightly thinner than a standard strat but it's not Squier Bullet thin. The neck is not thin at all , it's actually a little thicker than a lot of other guitar that I own. It seems like it has 9 gauge strings on it , I use 10's but they are not 10's . Mine came already setup. I am an experienced player and setup tech . I use string height gauges to measure when I do a set up and I use my ears . This guitar has very low action ( 6th string is 1.75 mm height exactly at the 12th fret ) and very straight neck yet no fret buzz anywhere , maybe the thinner strings are why , less vibration. If these are 9 gauge I'll keep them on be cause I love the set up . I fear they might be 8's though and will have to go. The intonation was on target also . I had to adjust absolutely nothing on this guitar . The pups sound great , the finish is flawless , it's a yellowish white , not really Olympic White like a Fender and I'm totally loving this color. This axe is light weight , I would make a guess at 6 pounds . The neck and frets are great . I played a few Iron Maiden tunes on it note for note and a Scorpions song and it stayed in tune. I don't use the trem because I don't solo much at all. You can't go wrong with this instrument . It's going to be my number one at home now . ... show more

  • Amazing Product Not only for Beginners
Color: Surf Green Style: Stratocaster
This Squier is fantastic for the price. I've played other stratocasters within the same price range and this one is better by miles. The finish on the body and the neck is very well done. Action came in a good place, just needed a bit of a adjustment, which can be done with the wrench included. Fretboard needs a bit of using (has that new fret sandy feeling), which usually is taken care by playing the guitar. Great value for the price, and also a great platform for projects. ... show more

  • Squier Affinity HSS
Color: Metallic Black Style: HSS Strat
Very well made for a budget Fender. Thought I would have to at least replace strings and tuning heads but they are sufficient. The intonation didn't even need any adjustment, string height was fine and neck was straight, good action and no fret buzz. No fret filing necessary either. Only con is that the pickup selector switch could be a bit sturdier. ... show more

  • Shocked by the value and peformance.
Color: Charcoal Frost Metallic Style: Stratocaster
Been playing guitar for 61 years, a gopod many of them professionally. I bought this because I was tired of looking for a guitar with dual humbuckers to switch off to from my Telecaster. Tried several and just for the heck of it, decided to give this Squire from Fender a try, since it was only a backup and switch off to for personal use. Wow! Very responsive pickups and a neck that felt right at home in my hand. A terrific and surprisingly good sounding, fabulous playing little guitar and for under $300! I would have no problem gigging with this baby. What a pleasant surprise! Unbelievable. ... show more

  • Versatile
Color: Olympic White Style: HSS Strat
I’m very happy with this guitar. It arrived in perfect condition. Set up was nice. Played with it right out of the box. Body style is very comfortable. It’s so versatile that I can play different styles of music with it. It’s become my favorite of all 7 guitars that I own. A great value for the money. ... show more

  • Disappointed.
Color: Lake Placid Blue Style: Stratocaster
I’m directly comparing this to my 2020 Squier Affinity Stratocaster (previous generation). The new 2021 models have improved in some areas and fell short in others. Pros: I love the change to vintage-style tuners. Much easier to restring and you won’t cut yourself with string ends poking out. Also love the switch to the two-point tremolo which is easier to vibrato and provides better tuning stability. Cons: the pickups sound absolutely terrible. The clean tone is decent but once you add some distortion, it starts to sounds like a calculator. If you look inside the cavity, it’s clear to see they didn’t wax pot the pickups all around (the middle pickup doesn’t have any wax). Also, there’s minimal shielding and the potentiometers are cheap as can be. The body itself is noticeably thinner than last year’s model. I’ve played many Strats, including American ones. Don’t let my review be the final verdict. The way I see it, you can certainly make it work but be ready to spend extra for after-market parts. Perhaps get a Classic Vibe if your budget allows it. ... show more

  • great for the price
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Stratocaster
Played pretty well out of the box, It needed a little set up done. The neck was slightly curved causing the string height to be higher than my personal taste. Once I had that resolved (easy to do BTW!) I just lowered the string height individually and done! The sound is better than expected and excellent sustain. I would recommend this to everyone! ... show more
