This is a replacement, which arrived quickly and without hassle. Much appreciated. First one was all over the place, so I returned it. This one was pegged at 120° when I got it out of my mailbox. Brought it inside where it quickly matched my indoor temp, so I believe it’s quite accurate. Mounted it outside under the eave and by a window and it went to 105°, although the Weather Channel says it’s only 99°. I have no idea if the WC has instruments anywhere near my house or if they are nearer the lake, river and COE dam, (1-1/4 miles away) where temps are generally cooler, or if they interpolate the temp numbers from larger nearby communities. In any case, I’m happy with the seller and the thermometer is “close enough for govt work”, as folks say. I’m calling it a keeper. ... show more

Other than the metal piece that holds it ( which is a bit flimsy), it is a good working piece. Installed quickly and I can read it from inside.

The top post that should fit into the bracket did not. I had to shave it thinner, which was bothersome. Since I have new window and door frames made of metal, i did not want to screw this thermometer in with the enclosed screws. I used a heavy duty two sided mounting tape. (I'll see how long that lasts in Upper NY State weather.) Since the frames are of good quality and thick, I had trouble mounting this unit where I could easily see it through the window. The bracket didn't extend out far enough for my needs. That's not so much of a defect of the thermometer, but it's a problem for me. If it weren't for my specific situation, I would give this a higher rating. Accuracy? The instructions said not to hand it in direct sunlight, so it is in the shade of the eves. Weather App states 86 degrees. Thermometer reads 82 degrees. That's probably accurate enough. ... show more

Do not install in direct sunlight. Great for old folks because it’s easy to read from a distance. This is the second one we have owned and the first one lasted for many years. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for an outdoor thermometer with a bracket so I could peak at the reading from the inside of my sliding glass door. This was the only one I could find. The item description is misleading because it calls it "Big". It is only five inches approximately but it does the job and it is very easy to read. The price is right. Minor extension of the bracket was necessary to mount it where I wanted. ... show more
