I'm had 120 pounds on it with no bend. It says it handles more. I'm sure it can. Also, I was about to use the round shaped locking ( forget the name of them) safety clamps to keep the weights on. No issues.

I’m a beginner here. Got the 5 ft standard. Brand new. I can’t say for sure if this barbell is really too thin or not - deducting one star since the concern exists. My clamps did slide a little but didn’t completely come off with the 35 lbs worth of weight I put on one side to test it. (Lifted the bar vertically, wiggled it a bit.) That’s good enough for me, at least for now. I can always put a bit of cloth in the clamp to help fasten it if I notice it’s coming off. I’ve got only cheap vinyl weights and no rack, so I can’t load it heavy even if I wanted to. 🤷♀️ I’m not doing any complex lifts either. It feels solid and sturdy. Came well packaged and quickly. I had to order twice because Amazon refused to deliver the first time around. That’s fine. It happens sometimes. They automatically refunded me. It’s a cheap option to get you started. I eventually intend to “graduate” from this set up, so I’m not concerned. If the diameter is an issue maybe consider a star collar option (it’s only about $5 more). If loading it heavy is what you want, better just save up for a proper Olympic set up. ... show more

I bought this bar because the information states " shipped from Amazon and sold by Amazon". Amazon does a great job of shipping. Unfortunately, when Amazon passes the item to the post office for delivery, as in this case, I now have to drive 20 miles to the post office to pick up the item. If the item does not fit in the mail box the post office will not deliver the item. Amazon needs to state when the post office will be involved with shipping so I will know not to order the item. I still have not received the bar so I can't comment on its quality. Update: I picked up the bar from the post office today. The bar is exactly as described. I am very happy with the bar and I can recommend it to any interested party. - My comments above regarding the post office stands! ... show more

I bought one of these and in my opinion it's the same quality as a champion weight bar. I'm new to lifting weights, but very satisfied. I've already put 60lbs for 30 minutes on and off no bends or wear. The package came well wrapped so it wouldn't fall out. I'm overall very satisfied. Very disappointed with this purchase. I wish I read the reviews before purchasing. I read that the diameter was 1 inch and it’s not. The diameter is smaller and my standard clamps and standard weights slide around. It’s impossible for me to use this barbell unless I buy extra parts (new weights and smaller clamps). ... show more

Supported 250 with little to no bend very sturdy. Didn't like the knurling on bar it was too smooth and harder to get good grip then my previous bar its not too bad though when you get used to it.

First off this bar is not a full 1". It's 24 mm. Secondly it's as springy as a wet noodle. The max I've put on it is 250#. May bench press rack is some what narrow. So the other day when I had 250# on the bar. I didn't notice the springy whip in it until I pressed the weight and then racked it. Upon racking the bar it continued for several seconds to whip like a fiber glass rod. I had to put my hands on it to steady it . I'm thinking about returning it . If it's not to late. If you know your not ever going to put over 225# on this bar I would recommend it. But if your going to go up in weight . Say like doing 250+ pounds on compound movements i'd buy something better ... show more
