We were using individual yoga mats when doing floor exercises as well as lifting and while they somewhat served their purpose we wanted to get something more "permanent" that covered a larger area. Plus, when doing any form of lunges we found ourselves stepping off the yoga mat and on occasion it would roll and bunch up which could potentially cause us to slip and get hurt. These mat pieces are easy to configure to whichever shape and size you need, stay in place when moving around on them, are fairly comfortable on the knees/back when on the ground, clean with ease, and absorb the impact from weights if they are set down more aggressively than intended. I paid $40 for 42 sq ft (they were on sale and originally are $60) which was a steal and I would order another set to cover more space in my basement gym if the price ever drops again. Nice product but only covers a very small space/area! Barely enough to cover the space under my elliptical. Would have to make a much bigger investment to do the job intended.
