Features

  • LIGHTWEIGHT: The 3000 spinning reel is built with a rigid carbon fiber frame and rotor, drastically reducing overall weight to fight fatigue during long days on the water. Corrosion-resistant construction holds up in both freshwater lakes and inshore saltwater bays. No anti-reverse switch always reliable, fewer openings against water, sand & salt, and a lighter simplified design
  • UNIFORM LINE LAY: The line is wound onto the spool in exceptionally tight, even coils, virtually eliminating line dig-in, wind knots, and frustrating backlashes during your retrieve. This perfectly stacked line lay produces noticeably longer, more accurate casts and a smoother, more consistent drag release
  • ULTRA-HARD MAIN SHAFT & 7+1 BEARINGS: The hardened aluminum alloy main shaft delivers exceptional rigidity, pairing with 7+1 stainless steel ball bearings (including an instant anti-reverse bearing) for a buttery-smooth, zero-back-play retrieve. Rock-solid hooksets on trout, redfish and everything in between
  • CNC-MACHINED ALUMINUM SPOOL & HANDLE: The lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum spool is matched with a CNC aluminum handle and a high-grip carbon fiber knob. Built to endure repeated fights with hard-pulling fish, this setup stays comfortable and dependable whether you are twitching jerkbaits or working topwater lures
  • VERSATILE 5.2:1 GEAR RATIO & 3000 SIZE: The balanced 5.2:1 retrieve speed is a workhorse across techniques, from slow-rolling spinnerbaits to hopping soft plastics. The 3000 size pairs perfectly with 615 lb monofilament or 1020 lb braid, making it a go-to choice for panfish, trout, walleye, striped bass and light inshore species

  • Nice Design, Smooth Operation, and Great Quality for the Price!
I am really impressed with this spinning reel! The overall appearance and quality are very nice, especially for the price. It has a beautiful design that looks and feels more expensive than it actually is. The combination of the lightweight carbon fiber body and sturdy construction makes it feel well made without being heavy or bulky. One of the features I really like is the large, comfortable handle. It provides a nice grip and makes turning the reel feel natural and comfortable. The reel operates smoothly, and the handle is easy to turn without feeling stiff or difficult to use. I also appreciate the adjustable drag system, which is a nice feature for controlling resistance when fishing. The reel has a 5.2:1 gear ratio and a 7+1 bearing system, which are nice features for a spinning reel at this price point. The aluminum spool also adds to the overall appearance and construction. It feels like a lot of thought went into the design. Another thing I really appreciate is how lightweight and compact it is. It seems like it would be comfortable to use for longer fishing trips without adding unnecessary weight to your rod. The overall design is attractive, practical, and easy to handle. I also love that it comes with a protective carrying case. It's a thoughtful addition that makes it convenient to store the reel or take it along on fishing and camping trips. Overall, this is a nice, lightweight, and well-designed spinning reel that offers a lot of nice features for the price. Between the comfortable handle, smooth operation, sturdy construction, and attractive appearance, I think it's an excellent value. I'm very happy with the quality and would definitely recommend it! ... show more

  • Very Nice Reel
It's a good reel. It comes in a nice box and it has an interesting look. So that makes it a good present for a fellow fisherman. The case is a great case. It can hold the reel, plus a good amount of tackle. You can slip a thin box of lures in it or maybe some hooks and weights. Bobbers might not fit so well. If you remove the foam rubber, you can fit quite a lot in the case. The reel works well, but it's not the same as some of my reels. This one has a silent retrieve. That's nice. I usually choose to do that, but on most of my reels, I can set it so I can hear a clicking sound as I reel. This one has an automatic anti-reverse. That's nice. I usually choose to do that, but on all of my reels (I think) sometimes I set it so I can reverse. This one can't do that, but all that means is I have to flip the bale open instead of flipping a switch. I do have one criticism. They misleadingly say in their sales copy that "The 3000 size pairs perfectly with 6–15 lb monofilament or 10–20 lb braid..." I don't think that is accurate at all. The reel agrees with me. On the reel, it lists the amount of line that can be spooled for three different line strengths. Those are 3 lb at 250 yards, 4 lb at 200 yards and 5 lb at 165 yards. I'll be using 6 or 8 lb and that is as high as I want to go, and I have a very good reason. If you watch the spool go up and down as you reel, you will notice that it moves very slowly, and I mean very slowly. If you were to put 20 lb braid on this reel, it would create a very uneven spooling. The thick line would bunch up because the spool is moving so slow. Great for light line. Not so great for heavy or thick line. 20 lb line might fit less than 40 yards onto the spool. Not good at all. For lightweight lines, this is a great reel. It makes a great gift. It's a really good reel for young people. With the case, it's an excellent reel for hiking and camping. But I don't like that they say it can use line much heavier than it can. And that's why I took off one star for an otherwise excellent reel. ... show more

  • Handle makes it perfect
What a beautiful fishing reel. One of my favorite features is the handle. I have big hands, so having a good-sized, comfortable grip is really important, especially when you're fighting a fish. This handle feels fantastic and should help keep my hand from getting tired or cramped during longer use. The reel itself operates very smoothly, the drag is easy to set, and setup was simple. It also holds a good amount of line, although obviously the actual capacity will depend on what size line you're using. I did notice a very slight hitch near the top of the rotation occasionally while reeling, but I'm not convinced that's actually an issue with the reel. It may just be the way I'm turning the larger handle. Otherwise, the action feels very smooth. It's also just a really good-looking reel. It feels solid and well constructed without sacrificing that smooth operation. Overall, I'm very impressed with the appearance, feel, operation, and especially that large comfortable handle. For the price, I think this is a great reel and would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great Spinning Reel to Catch Fish at the Lake
I needed a new spinning reel for my rod. The previous reel was just worn out from many fun trips to the lake. I knew I wanted an upgrade from what I previously had because I really love fishing and use the reel extensively. The VANTX Spinning Reel was just what I was looking for in a reel. The Carbon Fiber body makes the reel light weight. I like the 5.2:1 gear ratio which helps pull in the catch at the end of the line. When you use the seven bearing system, like this reel provides, it really works like butter. The 15lb drag helps slow up the fish at the end of the line. I appreciate how the reel works without issue. Not once did I have the line bird nest on the reel and this problem is something I know frustrates every angler. I believe it's because this line is rolled on this reel exceptionally tight and even to prevent this. If you're looking to replace or purchase a new reel, I would recommend VANTX Spinning Reel to add to your rod. It's a quality reel at a good price point. ... show more

  • Cheap Material
I ran the VANTAX spinning reel through each of the operations in the instruction manual and it performed as intended. I just have doubts about the plastic material of the reel. They look low quality, mostly plastic and probably won’t last despite the nice case it is enclosed in. This would be a good gift to a beginner fisherman but not a seasoned one. ... show more

  • A versatile spinning reel that is light weight with carbon fiber frame.
Product arrived in a timely manner and was well packaged. This product is a spinning reel, carbon fiber body, 5.2 : 1 gear ratio, 7 + 1 BB, Size 3000, CNC Aluminum spool. This product is light weight spinning reel with a carbon fiber body, 5.2: 1 gear ratio, 7 +1 BB ball bearings, has a CNC Aluminum Spool with a 15 pound maximum drag. The drag has a triple drag washers, aluminum main shaft, brass pinion gear and stainless steel drive gear which delivers an ultra smooth retrieval and long lasting performance. What does all this mean? This is a reasonably priced spinning reel that delivers results when needed, smooth casting, precise casting, easy retrieval with a 15 pound drag and a reel that if properly maintained should last for a long time. In my practice casting sessions it has been able to smoothly cast to where I wanted it to and retrieval was very smooth. It is light weight and looks like a more expensive reel. I am pleased with this pickup and can't wait to hook into a big one. I am pleased with this product. ... show more

  • Smooth reel, but the fit and finish could be better
The reel feels fairly smooth to operate and the overall design looks good. The size and weight also seem appropriate for a 3000-size spinning reel, and the handle feels comfortable in the hand. My main issue is the workmanship. Some of the exterior parts do not fit together as cleanly as I expected, and there are areas where the edges and gaps look a little rough or uneven. It does not affect the basic operation of the reel, but the overall fit and finish could definitely be improved, especially at this price point. Functionally, it seems like a decent reel, but the cosmetic assembly quality keeps it from feeling as refined as some other reels I have used. Overall, a good reel with room for improvement in build quality. ... show more

  • Lightweight Spinning Reel With Smooth Performance and Great Potential for BFS
The Vantx spinning reel made with carbon fiber stands out immediately because of its low weight. At only 7.4 ounces, it feels incredibly light in hand, which makes it a great match for techniques that benefit from reduced fatigue and better balance. The 5.2:1 gear ratio paired with 7 plus 1 ball bearings gives the reel a smooth and controlled retrieve, and the CNC aluminum spool adds a clean and refined look. In use, the reel feels responsive and easy to manage, especially when working finesse presentations. The only potential drawback is the shallow spool. It is currently rated at 165 yards of 5 lb line, which is enough for many situations but may feel limiting for anglers who prefer heavier line or longer casts. For my setup, I plan to pair it with a medium light rod for fishing BFS lures, and the shallow spool should work well for that purpose. The lightweight build and smooth operation make it a strong candidate for finesse bass fishing where sensitivity matters. Overall, this reel offers impressive performance for its size and weight. It feels refined, handles well, and should be a fun addition to my BFS lineup. ... show more
