It might not look it, but it's one tough cookie, went through a lot of abuse and half a year later it still performs. I will recommend for users that need a lot of line capacity, but it's not the best for long casting, more of a boating reel. It's great value for the price.

Do not user these in saltwater and get them wet internally. They won’t last. I rinse all of my gear off and these did not last but a few months. I bought 3 different ones and they have all mechanically failed. Should have spent the extra $ on something more reliable items. They look nice out of the box and work great until the corrosion starts. I recently purchase a drone to help cast so as long as you don’t get the internal gears wet you should be ok. I will give it three stars only because they do work great out of the salt water. I would presume if it was freshwater, it would not be a problem. ... show more

That reel and surf rod is going to be one badass couple. I went with Reaction Tackle 25lbs high performance line. I did a weight check on the line went to , which is reel max. Didn't faze it!! Line is .o11" thick. I did the math. 960yards of line !!!!! Can't wait to get 11' ,4 piece surf caster tomorrow. We'll you know what I'll be doing as soon as the truck pulls up. Shame both the 2500 and 3000 models hold less line. I'm going to ramp up to75 test and65lbs @ reel. These two are smooth badass's. Mm ... show more
