  • Absolutely no issues!
Color: Black
I was super skeptical about ordering this for my 12.9" iPad Pro 5th gen after reading the reviews, especially after spending $1000 on it. I've been using it for about a month now and have had no issues getting my Apple Pencil 2 to pair or charge. I'm not sure if they changed something between the reviews or if those that were struggling were just experiencing a bit of PICNIC (user error). I ♥ Spigen! I use their products on many of my other devices without issues and I'm so glad I purchased this one!! ... show more

  • Does not charge Apple Pencil in M2 iPad Pro, Spigen support suggests to return
Color: Black
Love the case, gives great protection. With the M2 iPadPro and Apple Pencil 2, it will not charge the pencil. Spigen support line has been great, but after I sent them the videos, they said the M2 iPad Pro has a weaker magnet, and sadly it will not charge the pencil as a result. The only recommendation is to return for refund. Just to cover the bases, I have tried rotating the pencil, put it upside down, squeeze it closer, try with or without the flap. I was unable to get it to charge at all. As an electrical engineer, I don’t think it is a magnet related issue. I think the real issue is the case added just enough distance and shielding due to its thickness, thus preventing the inductive charging to function. Sadly, that requires taking the case off just to charge the pencil, which is not an acceptable workaround due to its tight fit. There is always manufacturing tolerances in the iPad and the pencil, as well as the case. So you may get it to work, but you have to take the chance if that’s what you want. So if you don’t use the pencil, the case is great. If you are a pencil user, then you may want to look for a different option until Spigen can redesign the case. ... show more

  • Does charge the Apple Pencil
Color: Black
I have bought Spigen phone cases for years now and was excited when I found this case. I was hesitant due to people saying it won’t charge the Apple Pencil but I have not had that issue. Mine connected and charged right away so I’m not entirely sure why others are having this issue. I had another iPad case before this one that felt flimsy and cheap while similar in price. This feels 100x better in my hands and I like that the Apple Pencil is secured with a magnetic flap. I’m not a fan of the cases that have an entire column dedicated to the pencil that extends the case out and you have to pop the pencil out. I prefer the function and look of this case. Standing the iPad up for viewing could be a little sturdier but I usually prop mine up with a pillow for drawing or watching things so that’s not a deal breaker to me. Overall, I think this case would protect my iPad in a drop and it functions perfectly for my needs. I like how it looks and feels and I’m glad I bought it considering how flimsy the other was. The iPad is easily placed into this case as well. Secure but not so much I can’t get the case off if needed. ... show more

  • Apple Pencil DOESNT NOT charge while in case
Color: Black
Overall, really like this case. There was slight powdery residue on the case after opening it from the plastic seal, but that was simply wiped off with a damp paper towel. It is sturdy and has a nice feel to it. The only issue I have is that the Apple Pencil (2nd Gen is what I'm using) doesn't charge while attached to my 2021 12.9 inch 5th Gen iPad in this case. The iPad inner magnet hold the Pencil while it's in the case though. I didn't even notice that it wasn't charging until my Pencil was completely dead. Aside from this inconvenience, I'd say it's a near perfect case that does everything I need. ... show more

  • Great case (and pencil DOES charge)
Color: Black
This case is a great value. It seems very protective and it functions well in how it folds and holds the pencil. Despite what has been written, it definitely DOES charge the pencil. It may not always be obvious that it’s charging, but it is. The one thing that was a tiny concern when I first got the case was that it seemed really easy to slip the iPad into the case, which made me wonder if the case would stay on if it fell and there was an impact. Once the iPad is in the case however, it seems secure, so I haven’t worried about it. ... show more

  • Rugged good looking case, BUT...
Color: Black
This is a great looking case (in my opinion). It seems rugged (haven't dropped it). Only problem I have is it won't charge my apple pencil. I would have thought it wouldn't have been a problem since it has a holder built in for it. But I can only get my pencil to charge with the case off. If anyone knows of a case that charges the pencil while it's on comment on my comment. If I didn't use the apple pencil I would have rated this case a 4 or 5 (once I had it longer, to give it adequate time to be used). Photos show same ipad with and without case charging status shows unplugged with case on, charging with it off. ... show more

  • Perfect balance of protection and (lack of) bulk
Color: Black
The case fits perfectly and feels great in the hand. It is not bulky, yet feels substantial enough for the protection I'm looking for (mainly to be protected while in a bag; I'm usually pretty careful with my devices). I had no issues with the Apple Pencil charging. I only wish it was lower in price and had more angles for viewing (the latter a limitation I knew going in). ... show more

  • Pencil Will Not Charge
Color: Black
Case has to be removed to charge the pencil, at least mine does. The case to me is 100% perfect as far as size and how it functions except for charging the pencil. I use my iPad so often it’s aggravating to remove the case each time. I’ve tried sliding the pencil up and down a little to see if it will connect and it won’t. I love this brand and was excited to see they offered a case for my iPad so I immediately purchased it. But, I’m going to have to purchase a different brand unfortunately so the pencil will charge because I can’t keep removing the case every time I need to charge my pencil. Spigen please fix this small problem. ... show more
