  • Joiner Connector
This aluminum Domino joiner connector is a useful accessory for anyone working with compatible Festool, Makita, Milwaukee, or Evolution guide-rail systems. It is designed to help connect or align a Domino joiner setup with a guide rail, giving woodworkers more options for repeatable, controlled work. The aluminum construction should keep the connector lightweight while still providing a solid mounting interface. Check the exact tool and rail compatibility before ordering, but this is a valuable specialty accessory for a workshop that uses multiple guide-rail systems.Easily adjustable, easy to use, excellent cutting performance and a great deal. ... show more

  • Another great SpeTool product that is simple and makes linear dominoes with ease
I love the quality of all the SpeTool products that I have in my shop. This Festool domino connector enables me to quickly and easily connect the product to either of my Festool Domino tools with the two screws to the base of the tool. From there, I just attach the combo to my Festool track and then adjust my tool from there. After the quick set up, I get spot on accurate plunges for my dominos. This let me work an entire bookcase with ease. Made from aluminum like nealy all my SpeTools so this will hold up for some time. I just added it to my Systainer on my DF500 so I always have it. A great price point for what it does. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Still on the fence about this one
Very simple product that is a bit pricey in my opinion for what it is. But as soon as you say its for a Festool product, I understand they price goes up. Is pretty simple to attach the bracket to the Domino and then line it up with the track. It has its perks for certain applications. Also comes with the thumbscrews you need to actually attach it to the Festool Domino. The presentation and packaging could have been a lot better as well but it arrived safe. Overall I still have mixed feelings about this and if it is even necessary, but it was worth a shot to me for more accuracy. ... show more

  • A Clever Shortcut for Flawless Joinery (With a Few Quirks)
In my decades around the workshop, I’ve learned that the secret to heirloom-quality woodworking isn’t just patience—it is repeatability. When you are cutting a long line of loose tenon joints, keeping everything perfectly aligned is where the battle is won or lost. That is where the SpeTool DomiRail comes in. It acts as a sturdy bridge, pairing your Festool Domino (DF 500 or 700) with your existing guide rails from Makita, Milwaukee, or Festool to keep you moving quickly and safely. When you get it dialed in, this aluminum connector is a genuine joy to use. The trick is straightforward: offset the back of your guide rail exactly 10mm from your centerline, and your Domino will plunge precisely where you need it, every single time. It saves your back, your hands, and your valuable lumber from costly alignment mistakes. However, a wise craftsman looks at what a tool doesn't do just as closely as what it does. SpeTool missed a golden opportunity here by not including a pair of 10mm setup spacers. Even simple, 3D-printed plastic spacers would have made setup a breeze right out of the box, though machined aluminum would have better matched the DomiRail's robust build. Furthermore, you might find yourself squinting on the job. The physical body of the fixture blocks out ambient light, making it difficult to clearly spot your alignment lines. Don't let that frustrate you or ruin your workpiece; simply keep a small flashlight handy at your bench to illuminate the cursor on your Domino before you make the cut. It is a rugged, well-machined piece of hardware that respects your hard-earned money, even if it requires a little old-school patience and a flashlight to truly shine. ... show more

  • Works as it should
The SpeTool Aluminum Domino Joiner Connector is an excellent addition for anyone using the FESTOOL DOMINO DF500 or DF700, and it’s also compatible with other popular brands like Makita, Milwaukee, and Evolution. Right out of the box, I was impressed by how seamlessly it fits onto the Festool domino jointer, allowing for a smooth and effortless glide along the guide rail. This feature significantly simplifies the process of creating straight-line joints, making it a breeze to achieve precise alignments. One of the standout benefits of this connector is its ability to ensure accurate offsets, which is crucial when crafting joints. The design allows for easy adjustments, making it particularly useful for box building without the need for dados. This capability not only saves time but also enhances the overall efficiency of the woodworking process. Whether you’re a professional woodworker or a hobbyist, having this tool in your arsenal can elevate your projects with clean, strong joints. Overall, the SpeTool Aluminum Domino Joiner Connector delivers on its promises, enhancing the functionality of the Festool domino jointer. It provides a reliable, easy-to-use solution for anyone looking to streamline their woodworking tasks. If you’re in the market for a connector that simplifies jointing and improves accuracy, this product is definitely worth considering. ... show more

  • Nice Domino accessory…I guess?
Let me preface my review by first saying that I have several SpeTool accessories, and I absolutely admire the quality of their construction and their design. I also believe strongly that tools that are amazing for one person might be less than stellar for others…a lot depends on what operations you are performing, what your expectations are, and what you find value in. For me, I’m giving this 4 stars out of respect for the fact that others may find this wonderful, but for me, it’s really 3 stars. The guide itself is nicely made and fits fine on my Domino DF700. There is a little play in how it mounts to the bottom plate, but that is easily addressed by tightening it while the Domino is in the position you plan to use it in….fence at 90 degrees, guide in the rail, and rail and Domino on a flat surface. I will also say that I noticed that there is a little play in the guide where it rides in my Festool track. You’ll want to make sure the bottom of the Domino is fully resting on the rail edge. And ultimately, that’s why I don’t find this guide to be very helpful. I’m not sure what it actually does…if the fence of the Domino is keeping the tool perpendicular to the work surface (which it is), and I’m using the edge of the rail to register the bottom of the Domino so that all my mortises are in a straight line…why do I need this guide? Maybe I’m missing something 🤷🏻♂️. Anyway, for me, I don’t really see the value in it, especially at the price it’s being sold at. But others may find it wonderful, and that’s cool. YMMV. ... show more

  • This was a swing and a miss for me. Nicely made, but not a pressing need.
Not sure where to start here. How about the ridiculousness of the offering price? No value for the money that I can perceive. Maybe for someone who can't manage to keep their tool flat up against their guide rail or straight edge? I mean there isn't anything to keep the tool from lifting out of the track, so you tighten it, but I can think of a host of better and cheaper ways to accomplish that. It follows my guide rail, okay, then what? Is staying tight to your guide rail really that big of a problem for folks? I say save your dough and drop a clamp on it if tool won't stay put, but that's me working on a big MFT styled table. This did inspire me to fabricate an indexing guide for my DF-700 that works the same as my router using the FP-LR 32 guide plate on my FS 2424/2-LR 32 rail. It's still a work in progress, but if this little aluminum plate with a bit of low coefficient of friction plastic is worth thirty-eight bucks then I may just have to start a new career. The functional intent is repeatability with precision, but the precision is not what it should be for such a hurtful price. The aluminum has a very nice powder coat finish that is very well applied, but I work in a shop all alone, and while I love the feel of a well crafted tool in hand, this is just a jig, an alignment accessory, that is simultaneously easy and frustrating to use, and there's no one there to make feel jealous because my rail connector looks so pretty. I've got a my wife for that. Why is it not equipped to self index? I can tighten it down to lock it in place, but why not build it to allow some micro adjustment instead of being a tedious bit of hold steady while I tighten and then check again. I don't know, perhaps it's just me. These folks do make lots of other quality accessories, but this one just feels like a partial solution to something that wasn't really a problem. Nicely made, but a hard non pour moi. Try harder SpeTool. ... show more

  • Easy to use
This rail connector is designed to help provide a more stable and consistent reference when using a Domino joiner with a guide rail, and it seems to do that job well. The aluminum construction feels sturdy without being overly heavy, and it attached securely to my guide rail with very little movement. I like that it works with multiple rail systems, including Festool, Makita, Milwaukee, and Evolution, which gives it more flexibility than accessories made for only one brand. When using it on longer pieces, it helped keep my mortises more consistent and accurate, and the overall machining quality looked good with smooth edges and a clean finish. ... show more
