For someone who is a big watch person all my life, I really surprised myself how I’ve never heard of the watch brand, Speidel, until just recently, when they make inexpensive great quality watches and who has made a name for themselves for 100+ years. Speidel’s Eco-Friendly Color Pop Recyclable Plastic Watch with 18mm Recycled Silicone Strap reminds me so much of my Swatch watch when I was little, which I worn ruggedly and endlessly, everyday and everywhere, for many moons. Just looking at and trying on this Speidel watch, which shares some similarities with Swatch, band-wise and wearability-wise, I can see myself sporting this watch in the great outdoors, while I’m out on the boat cruising and fishing the day away. Here’s why: 1) This watch is made of lightweight case and silicone band, which is perfect to use outdoor, as it is very comfortable to wear and feels like you’re not even wearing a watch. 2) The super easy to read colored Dial with Luminous Hour & Minute Hands feature is very convenient and perfect to use at nighttime, like when you’re fishing out late at night or when you’re camping, to ensure that you never lose track of time with a quick and simple glance at your wrist watch, eliminating the need and inconvenience of having to pull out your smartphone. 3) This watch is made durably using stainless steel caseback and is water resistant for up to 50M(160ft). You can swim and shower with it, with no problem. 4) Easy to clean using light detergent soap and water. On that note, I’m very pleased to have discovered and to have added a completely new to me watch brand, Speidel, to my watch collection. I will buy a Speidel again!

I got the Speidel Eco Color Pop Recyclable Plastic Watch with 18mm Recycled Silicone Strap in Red. I know the Speidel name mostly for their watch straps rather than for their watches. This one does seem nice. The single color style is very fun. A 40 mm case is as big as my wrist can handle (and it sometimes limits my wrist motion), but the oversized look paired with the bright color works. The movement keeps time well, and the face is very easy to read. The hours are listed in both 12- and 24-hour formats. The luminous hands are great for being able to read the time almost anywhere. The watch is comfortable to wear. It is lightweight and barely noticeable, aside from the brilliant color. Even when I'm sweaty, the silicone doesn't tug on my skin. The plastic case and dial don't look fancy, but I like that it can be recycled. I'm always up for being more eco friendly. I think $50 is a bit high for a casual watch, but I am fond of this one. It's fun.

I love everything about this watch. Its durable, no frills design still manages to be stylish and fun. The navy color and the simple analog display is crisp and sporty and looks great with just about anything. The thick recycled silicone band is comfortable and rugged. I have small wrists, and this is sometimes a problem with watches, but this adjusted for a perfect fit. I also love the luminous hands. Just a great watch. I'm not in the nursing field, but I totally get why nurses love this watch. Easy to read, easy to clean, water resistant, and lots of color options. It's a fantastic watch.
