  • Decent Eye Pieces
For the price, this is a good set of eyepieces. I bought a used telescope for my kid that didn't have any eyepieces. This is a good starter set to expand her interest in space. They aren't the best, but still very good for the price. I have better ones that cost a lot more, but these perform well for the price. They are easy to use and slid right into the telescope without issue. ... show more

  • Good budget eyepiece set.
If you need some eyepieces and money's tight, this set might just fit the bill. The set is good, but not great. Build quality is as you would expect at this price range. Most of the parts are plastic, however the lenses are glass. This is certainly a step up from the cheap eyepieces that used to come with entry level scopes when I first got into the hobby back in the 1980s. As other reviewers have mentioned, the 4mm is the weak link. It's not a very good eyepiece. Right off the bat I noticed that the eye lenses of the 4mm and 10mm look to be the same size. If you hate tiny eye lenses, as I do, you might think that this is a plus. However, this is due to the 4mm having an internal barlow element to boost the power. This arrangement is quite common on short focal length eyepieces, and if done well it gives you a high power eyepiece that's comfortable to use. Unfortunately with cheaper eyepieces, it's usually not done well. In this case, it's not done well. Performance is poor. That aside, the two longer focal length eyepiece are good, with the 23mm being the standout. It's actually a very nice eyepiece. It performs well, and gives you a fairly wide field of view. For the $39.99 price at the time of my typing this review, this eyepiece set is a pretty good deal. If you shop around, you might be able to find a better deal. Or, you could just go with the 23mm and 10mm. Overall, I'm happy with them. ... show more

  • SpectrumOI Aspherical Eyepiece Set 1.25"
I couldn't wait to get these telescope lenses. I got my son a telescope a few years ago and I use it more than he does. My favorite thing to do is stargaze all year long. This year the sky is so pretty and has been almost always clear since the beginning of October. The only lens I had was a 23mm which is decent magnification, I wanted more. Of course, these show up today and the sky is cloudy for the first time in weeks, hopefully, the sky will clear up this evening. I tested these out birdwatching and they work well. With my telescope, 4mm is the clearest with the most magnification. These are easy to view. These would work well with a phone camera mount because none of them have black rubber eye guards. With just viewing the trees and birds I feel these are decent quality, they're much better than what I had. These cost the same as what I paid for one 23mm lens. You get: (1) 23mm lens (1) 10mm lens (1) 4mm lens Storage Box with a Foam Insert with Cutouts for Lens Storage- it is a nice sturdy box, it would make a great gift All of the lenses have protective caps on either end. These are a good value and I would recommend ... show more

  • Economy eyepiece set
This is a nicely boxed set of three economy eyepieces each one with both top and bottom plastic covers. These 62° eyepieces are available through a number of different brands but essentially the same. I am not sure why this vendor is targeting them towards children? The three focal lengths supplied here are 22mm, 10mm and a high powered 4mm. The first two are the most useful but all are predominately plastic in construction but with glass lenses. They are internally blacked to help with reflections and contrast which is good. The rubber eye guards do not turn up. The 4mm is the same as the 10mm however it contains a rather poor quality internal barlow lens. This is done to help increase eye relief at the expense of contrast and image quality. Overall this would make a decent outreach set, especially the 22 mm and 10 mm eyepieces. The 4mm is more situational with requiring a more short focal length telescope. A 6mm without the barlow element would be more useful. If the lens housing was not of plastic in construction I would give more stars. ... show more

  • On par with eye pieces included with a Celestron StarGuide telescope
I found that these SpectrumOI eyepieces are well made, and for a set of three it is a good reasonable price. Compared to the original 20mm and 10mm eyepieces that came with my telescope, I found these to be of similar optical quality, with a slight preference to the original eyepieces. Of all of them, I'd have to say 20mm is probably my favorite in terms of field of view, clarity and brightness. the 4mm was unique in terms of the level of magnification, but it is really difficult to get the target in view, and then really difficult to see it as it is quite dim. It was good for me to calibrate that my existing eyepieces are not junk, and these are likely an upgrade for someone whose telescope came with really cheap lenses. ... show more

  • Great gift for telescope hobby
My son enjoys his telescope so I got him this as a gift. Its standard size and fits his telescope. It's a different size than what his came with. I think the 4mm eyepiece really brightens up the stars in view.

  • Really good views
As others have mentioned, the 4mm gets pretty blurry, but the rest are great. I expected this regardless of quality as the 4mm would have provided way more magnification than my telescope can clearly accommodate. I expect about 204x max magnification with my telescope and the 10mm gives around 260x. This is even a little blurry but clear enough to make out bands on Jupiter ... show more
