🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Omnisphere has been praised by users for its vast capabilities as both a hardware and software synthesizer, offering an impressive array of over 14,000 patches and a comprehensive core sample library. It integrates seamlessly with DAWs for studio work and can operate in standalone mode for live performances, with direct hardware integration enhancing its usability. Although highly regarded for its sonic quality and versatility, some users note its high system requirements and potential issues with activation keys when purchased from Amazon. Its ability to drive music production to new heights is widely acknowledged, despite a steep learning curve and considerable resource demand on computers.

Pros

  • 🎶 Extensive library with over 14,000 patches
  • 🔌 Seamless hardware-software integration
  • 👨‍💻 Direct drag-and-drop functionality for samples
  • 🎚 Highly versatile for both studio and live performance use
  • 📀 Available boxed version for those looking to avoid long downloads

Cons

  • ⚙ High system requirements may exclude some users
  • 🛠 Potential issues with activation keys from third-party sellers
  • 💽 Considerable hard drive space requirement
  • 🔄 Some restrictions on sound reshaping and sharing

Should I Buy It?

If you're serious about music production and your system meets the specifications, Omnisphere is almost unanimously recommended. Its unparalleled depth and sonic quality provide real value for the investment. However, those with limited system capabilities or looking for simpler plug-and-play options might find it overwhelming. Assess your needs and capabilities before deciding, but for most, Omnisphere represents a significant upgrade to their musical arsenal.

  • Best synthesizer on the market
I purchased version 2 here, and received a free downloadable update to version 2.5 from Spectrasonics. The Amazon Prime price is actually better than the Spectrasonics web-purchase price. In my opinion there is no better hardware or software synthesizer for any price that I have discovered. It loads as a VST in your DAW, or in stand-alone mode for live performance. The amount of included content (14,000+ patches) is amazing. The included core sample library for creating your own sounds is extensive. You can also drag and drop you own samples directly into Omnisphere for immediate original content. Omnisphere is a vast sonic rabbit-hole that will satisfy the synthesizer needs of the most demanding music productions. The sonic quality is wonderful. There is also (in 2.5) direct hardware-software integration with an impressive number of hardware synthesizers currently on the market. Before pulling the trigger, make sure your computer can handle Omnisphere. Go to the website and check the system requirements. Omnisphere has been around for over 10 years and enjoys a massive user base, so Spectrasonics will probably be around for along time to ensure customer support. Go to the Spectronics website and watch the videos, then check out the YouTube reviews and come to your own conclusion. Think of all the money you'll save not buying all those other synth packages you've been looking at! Yes, that's how sick it is. ... show more

  • (PLEASE READ) Serial key problems
I inspected the copy and everything looked fine. The plastic shrink wrap was intact but the security seal had a slight peal on one corner which made me slightly raise my eyebrows. I ended up running into trouble when trying to activate it using the serial key. Upon entry, the spectrasonics activation software was telling me the key had already been used... How? I'm still not sure.. but luckily spectrasonics is very responsive and helped me right away after emailing them about my situation. They promptly issued me a new serial key after sending them a picture of the non-working key and my proof of purchase. Great on spectrasonics for helping me out there. all is good now, but beware when buying from amazon. it seems not everyone had this issue, but it may be possible some copies sold here have been craftily tampered with. just my speculation, not sure how else a serial key wouldnt work fresh out the box. anyways: 5 stars for Omnisphere, great product 4 stars for amazon distribution, potentially sketchy ... show more

  • game changer
if you're up to get knocked back a few pegs and realize you're not as good as you think than you want this plugin. it can do so much, after a bunch of hours into it I can't seem to scratch the surface of its actual potential. From what I've found, the sounds sound so real that I am trying to catch my drums quality to match. Im used to synthetic sounds. Try saying that with Nexus or Sylenth lol ... show more

  • I love this software
I love this software....so many great ambient textures. Importing samples is quick and easy and you can really mess with them, combined with the Nektar P6 I can do so much more than I ever imagine with soft-synths and with very little effort. I'm a guitar player firmly planted in the realm of pedals and tubes...even midi footcontrollers freak me out but this is really easy to use. I'm running it on a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro and it performs great. It's a bit of a cpu hog but no worse than other soft-synths I've used. Since it's multi-timbral I just figured out a way to not have to keep opening up new instances of it even though I'm recording multiple tracks which is cool and the Nektar really helps that.. ... show more

  • BOXED VERSION OF OMNISPHERE
This is the boxed version of onmnisphere. will save you the long download as it comes with the flash drive. Will be able to register to the spectrasonics site in order to update. Cool synth. Really advanced. Hard for me to tell if it is worth the money yet as I have not used it in immersive depth, but its potential is vast. ... show more

  • Amazing potential.
Omnisphere really is a cutting edge synth/sampler. You just can't find sounds like these with other synths. But...as a trance/electronic producer, I can say that a lot of the sounds are not particularly useable. It's potential, though, is unsurpassed. Pluginguru.com sells a ton of high quality Omnisphere sounds for the music producer which open up a ton of possibilities (no, I wasn't paid to say that). It uses much more CPU and ram than its suggested minimum requirements can handle. I run a 3 ghz, 64 bit, dual core processor with 4 gb ram and it is regularly pushed beyond its limit. Also, the libraries take up about 60gb hard drive space, so before you buy, MAKE SURE you have a system that can handle it. ... show more

  • GOAT VST!
One of the best, if not the best, VSTs you can use. This is definitely worth the $500, if you have it to spare. If you're choosing between this and Nexus, buy this first, as you can actually tweak modulation and sound.

  • Can't reshape and resell their sounds. Also your friends can't use use it, due to restrictions.
Great product, but there's a downside, way to many restrictions about their sounds!
