fit and worked perfectly

  • Just what I needed.
Installed in my 2000 2WD 4-cyl Nissan Frontier. Easy enough, simplistic directions but it gives you the right idea. Just watch a YouTube video for a better walkthrough if you are unsure. One thing of note for other vehicles like mine, there are rubber gaskets on the pegs at the bottom of the radiator to stabilize it. You can pull these off of the same pegs on your old radiator and reuse them if they aren't damaged. Same goes for the top two pegs. Be sure to know what you're doing and have enough coolant ready to fill it. My coolant capacity is 7.5 quarts, so it isn't just a single bottle. Also, remember to loosen the bolt that allows you to bleed out any air in the system after you pour in the coolant, but not when it is HOT, you'll get a burning geyser of engine coolant! I changed my fan clutch and water pump at the same time, so if you need to take care of those two parts as well, this would be a great (and spacious) time to do so. My only gripe, but not one to take a star off, is that the item was shipped USPS, which notoriously fails to deliver Saturday packages to New Orleans and loses them in the system until the following Monday. This has been an ongoing issue and it seems the only way to get Amazon's attention is to get Amazon vendor attention to the issue. Sorry, Spectra, because everything else from your end was fantastic! ... show more

  • Perfect fit 1998 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab 2-wheel drive.
Item arrived and was nicely protected. Just remember to handle with gloves and vacuum off all of the tiny Styrofoam. You will need the rubber grommets from the top (2qty) and bottom (2qty) from your old radiator or buy new. Use the provided rubber caps to cover the ends of the transmission lines once you remove the old lines. That will stop some leakage while you remove everything and install the new radiator. I had new hoses and clamps but I reused the transmission lines and clamps after cleaning with some solvent (mineral spirits). The shroud was a tight fit getting back on (into the bottom notches). I filled with 50/50 distilled water. I bought 2 gallons of antifreeze and 2 gallons of distilled water at Wal-Mart. Thus, for a little over $100 I replaced the radiator. I was quoted $475 for the project. It took my about 4 hours total as the shroud was my biggest pain to get off and get back on. The radiator has worked great for three days so far. No more smell of radiator fluid. I also ordered a new radiator cap and refill reservoir to go with the hoses, thermostat and hose clamps. Check your transmission fluid level when you are done. I drove the vehicle for five miles and then checked the radiator fluid. I have a safety radiator cap so I could open it. Make sure it is safe to open when you have driven it. I had to add more antifreeze solution. All in all I am very happy I did this and I bought this radiator from Amazon! ... show more

  • Installation tips. Time 1-1.5 hours. Easy to do
Install tips for 2001 frontier 3.3l SC: This will take about an hour to complete Plug oil cooler lines with bic pens or AAA batteries. Have casterol dex/merc trans fluid on hand and a funnel. Dont worry, the trans fluid flows out very slowly, you will have time to work. Reuse rubber grommets from old radiator. You will need a pipe wrench or wide mouthed pliers to get the tension clamps off. Also an 10mm wrench for the bolts and the COOLANT AIR BLEED VALVE ONTOP OF THE ENGINE. You will need to bore the holes a little wider at the bottom of the radiator to have the shroud drop in nicely. Use a drill bit that already fits in the hole and make them a little wider. When removing the radiator shroud the bottom of the shroud unclamps to let you to slide the whole radiator and shroud over the fan. ... show more

  • Direct replacement for 2000 Nissan Xterra SE
Direct replacement for 2000 Xterra SE. PERFECT. Easy replacement but if this is your first time be sure to un-clip the bottom portion of the fan shroud. It will allow you to pull it out easy AND your return trans line is clipped to it. Press the 2 tabs on the inside and it snaps away. Simple. Get a set of new clamps. I had to cut one and it justs a waste of time trying to reuse old clamps. These are dirt cheap. You don't need new hoses if they are in good condition. Some may say differant but I disagree. Check them for problems and make sure they are not dried out and stiff. For my 2000 the water pump was replaced 4-5 years ago and they where replaced so I reused with no problems. If you have trouble removing the trans lines just cut them as close as possible to the rad. There is plenty of slack in the line and will make no difference. Save more time. Product is excellent. Running cool and smooth for 5 days. Would certainly order again. If any tips helped please click the HELPFUL link below!! Thanks!! ... show more

  • Replaced factory radiator on 03 Frontier 2.4l
Almost perfect replacement for the stock radiator on a 2003 Frontier 2.4l. Pros: - Radiator core is thicker than original so should enhance cooling. - Fitted in the location - Hose connections all in the correct spot Cons: - Fan shroud support bracket holes at base of radiator were too small and had to be filed out larger for the shroud plastic pins to fit. Others have mentioned this issue as well. Overall it seems like a good radiator at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Easy fix though with round file
I had the same issue with the lower holes for mounting the fan shroud as others had too. Easy fix though with round file. the plastic on the tanks seem to be as good of quality as the original radiator. This radiator has the transmission cooler setup for automatic transmission frontiers and xterras (my frontier is a manual, it will work in both) which is a alway a potential leak point so ill be keeping an eye on that over the next couple months. The core looks to be about 3mils thicker than the stock with slightly wider runners than stock. It should have slightly more flow with the same cooling efficiency. The tank crimps seem to be seated just right, no sign of over crimping at all. I feel confident that this will last just as long as the factory radiator did. ... show more
