  • Not accurate at both things it's supposed to measure
I bought this to confirm alignment values on my F150 after I did a short drop kit (2" front, 4" rear). After the drop I could visually see the negative camber on the front wheels. I measured them with this FasTrax, which said I was at negative 2.7 degrees. Just for fun I measured the same thing using a straight edge piece of aluminum on the outer ridge of the wheel and an Angle Finder app on my Samsung S21. The S21 measured 1.2 degrees. Next I put both on the level surface of my Bridgeport mill and yes, the Fastrax was showing more angle than the S21. I tried the same thing with two different phones over two different angle finding apps and the Fastrax was confirmed to be not accurate even though there's a "factory set" screw on the bottom supposedly locking down perfectly level. Fortunately it's adjustable, and now it's actually level. I also tried measuring caster. Following the instructions (and instructional videos online) I went thru the motions exactly as instructed and my caster was apparently over 6 degrees. The factory spec is 3.75 degrees. I did everything I could do to the control arms to try getting it down to 3.75 degrees using the Fastrax to measure and eventually gave up and took the truck to an alignment shop. After they adjusted and confirmed 3.75 degrees I tried the Fastrax again and sure enough, over 6 degrees of caster!!!!! I don't know if someone painted the numbers on wrong or what the deal is but this thing isn't worth the antifreeze in the level. ... show more

  • alignment tool Fast Trax 91000
I rebuilt the front end on my 1965 Mustang and needed to align the tires. I've never attempted to do a front end alignment and wanted to learn the basics of camber, caster and toe-in. I read as much as I could find and finally decided to give it a try (If I get into trouble I can always go to the alignment shop). I bought the 91000 unit. After the front end rebuild, the car pulled hard to one side and struggle to get around corners. After leveling the 91000 and affixing to the wheel, I found the camber to be reasonably close to spec. The caster though was way off. It only took me about 45-minutes to adjust the caster and re-check the setting using the tool. On the test drive and the car is tracks straight and I've eliminated the pull to one side. Easy to get around corners. Just a few degrees of caster angle changed the entire drive experience. SO glad I took the initiative to purchase this unit. Super easy to use and I can check and perform my own alignments. Doing it myself saved me half a day sitting at the alignment shop and a bill of $100. This tool will be paying for itself on my next alignment and I learned the basics of front end geometry. ... show more

  • Works fine.
The only thing wrong with this product is it didn't fit my 18" wheels. Had to add an extensions to make it fit.

  • Great Tool
01 Crown Vic I replaced the whole front end, joints, rods, arm bushings and springs. Took it to the shop for an alignment and they said youโ€™re in the green we didnโ€™t charge u for it because we didnโ€™t adjust anything. I could not keep the car in a lane and have been through this before with shops not being able to dial in my vehicles so I bought this Fastrax tool along with turning plates. This tool Is simple to use and accurate, so happy with this purchase- I found the drivers caster out 1 degree and the passenger was 2 out- the car is very stable now and I am a smiling man. ... show more

  • Frustrating but usefull
Kind of a pain in the the ole glutteous maximus to use due to it's tendency to fall off the rim when adjustments are being made but it does get the job done. If you're a patient person this tool will work just fine for you.

  • At Home Alignment Made Easy
If you're a real car guy you need to have one of these. For the cost of a couple shop alignments you can do your own with the same degree of accuracy and know that you actually have the specs you want instead of whatever the guy at the shop decides the car is supposed to have. This is especially true with older cars like my '67 Mustang. Most shops no longer know how to adjust them, and the factory specs were for cars with bias ply tires. Using those specs on radial tires results in dangerous handling. I learned to do alignments years ago with angle finders and tape measures, but it was tedious and the results unpredictable. This gauge makes it fast and easy. I will say, you need the rim adapters though. The points it comes with don't hold the gauge on the wheel well at all. ... show more

  • A little pricy but gets the job done
Iโ€™m rebuilding a classic car in my garage and had to set the alignment from scratch. Struggled with other methods and reluctantly purchased this. It got the job done but would have been left with a better feeling at a lower price point.

  • Works ok but not great.
Bubble is too large for accuracy and the adjustable level is difficult to set. Hard to attach to the wheel as the vertical bar slides too easily so it take one hand on the adjustment knob and one hand on the tightening knob. Needs to come with adapters for the attachment to the wheel as the ones that are attached to the arms only work on limited types of wheels. The ones needed to make it easier to attach to my wheels cost another $50 to $60 which is too much.. ... show more
