I have lost about 100 pounds, and along with that much weight loss comes the problem of loose skin, and a particularly "jiggly" mid section. I don't have much fat to speak of anymore, but my belly and love handles are a problem. I am a candidate for tummy tuck surgery. However, that surgery is expensive and has a lengthy recovery window. Being out of work for weeks, on top of paying for the surgery, is a tough sell. The Spanx tank I ordered really helps with appearance. Normally I have slightly pronounced love handles, that are worse the tighter my shirt is. With the Spanx, my entire mid section feels tight and much flatter than before. It isn't a miracle cure, so there is still a bit of a bulge. But I could perhaps lose a few more pounds to help some with that. In any case, it DOES make a difference. I already feel more confident in what shirt I choose to wear. The material is also a bit more slick feeling than most cotton tanks, which tend to make other shirts cling to them, making your gut or love handles stand out. My outer shirt hangs nicely with the Spanx. Another positive addition is that I love the added support to my back. I am a tattoo artist. My days are spent hunched over, making back problems a daily issue. This is my first day wearing the Spanx, but it really feels awesome on my back. Not quite like a back brace... more subtle. Perhaps a smaller size would slim my middle a bit more, but I think it would also make it much less comfortable. With the large I ordered, I don't mind wearing it at all. It is totally comfortable and not too hot either. Bottom line: this thing is great if you have a looser belly that you'd like to firm up underneath your regular shirts.

This is an excellent product. It did precisely what I had hoped it would do when I ordered it. I am 40 years old, and "they" say that for my height I should weigh 175-180 lbs. I weigh 200...so I am approximatly 20-25 lbs. overweight, and to be perfectly honest, it is starting to show in a way that it didn't used to. To be more specific, what used to be 10-15 lbs. of muscle from being in military shape has turned into a small spare tire I carry just above my belt. I noticed an immediate difference when I put this tank top on. Imagine what you look like when you "suck it in" a little bit. That is the effect this item has when worn. It doesn't make the spare tire magically disappear, but it DOES slim it right down, and is just tight enough to make you stand up a little straighter. I put it on, got dressed for work, and walked through the house. When I walked past my wife in the living room, the first thing she said to me was, "Hey, have you lost weight?" Right then and there I was glad I bought it. At 50 dollars a shirt, I won't have 10 or 15 of these in my drawer... but I will definitely have one or two for those times when I go somewhere and want to make sure I look my best. In short, if your goal is to look ten or fifteen pounds slimmer than you actually are, this shirt will do it. It is like wrestling a snake to get on and off, and it is a little bit spendy for an undershirt, but performs as advertised.

Love this product and want to buy more than one, but they ain't cheap! Product is really helpful for slimming up my look following some major weight loss. Even at 155-175lbs, my current range, there's a little excess skin that tends to "muffin top" (gross) when wearing tucked in shirts. This, in concert with wearing my pants a little higher, really helps me LOOK the weight that I am, no belly whatsoever. It's tight, and not the easiest to get on and off, but the trick is to reach behind you and pull it over your head when taking it off with both hands. I like this brand because it's high quality, the shirts are long, and it's not just tight in the breast, but on the stomach. Fortunately my chest flattened out nicely, so my main concern is getting compression on the stomach area, and this works way better than cheaper sports brands like Under Armour and Nike Pro Combat. Highly recommend and will buy more when I feel like dropping $50+ on a tight wife beater.

I'm simply going to provide my review of an imitation product as a review of this product w/ the addition of Spanx is extremely comfortable and I can wear it all day, but beware if perspiring in it on a warm day as it can be difficult to remove. Now a review of an imitation product comparing w/ Spanx: I recently got the "Spanx" brand of the slimming tank and was impressed w/ its comfort and what it's designed to do... Hold in a bit of extra gut and to my surprise, does provide some back support and improve posture, BUT it is a little pricey. The Spanx, however does feel like a quality product w/ cotton soft feel and the medium fit my 42" chest/32" waist perfectly. That said I thought I'd try the “InstaSlim” at less than half the cost of Spanx. My initial impression of the “InstaSlim” was that the material felt more like nylon than cotton. When I put it on, I did not mind the extra snugness around the waist as it pulls my gut in a little tighter, BUT it was also snug around my chess, especially under the arms. In addition to the extra tightness the material did not feel as comfortable as the Spanx and after a few hours I couldn’t take the discomfort anymore and had to remove it…. Or at least try. I had a 20-minute struggle to get this thing off as if attempting to escape from a straight jacket. It would have made a comical bit for a sitcom, but unfortunately this was real life and I was just short of cutting it off or risk the embarrassment of asking for help to pull this thing off of me. Granted I’m not the most flexible guy, but I thought the Spanx was a little tough to remove until the exhausting struggle with this product. In short, I determined that the cost savings was not worth the lack of comfort and fit that the Spanx product gave me. I would only recommend the InstaSlim if you have someone who doesn’t make too much fun of you, helping you take this off, and if you want to sweat off a little more weight during warmer weather as the material will promote perspiration making it nearly impossible to remove w/o cutting off.

I'm still frustrated by the expense of the brand name Spanx for Men, but I can't protest the results too much. This garment fits as expected: it pulls in the gut a bit, and provides a better shape to your chest. I was worried about having a tank top that was too tight and would appear counterproductive in enhancing the physique of the upper chest. But, luckily, the fabric pulls just enough to provide the results you seek, and did not feel tight or restrictive at all. In fact, I wore them under a relatively thin sweater and 1) forgot I was wearing it, and 2) it didn't show under the thin sweater nor produce unsightly bulges around the edges of the fabric. In short, it worked. The tank is easier to put on than the Compression V-neck, is lightweight and travels well. Although Amazon (and Spanx) uses a fitness model to advertise this garment (which is a little odd considering the market base), the garment does not work miracles. It merely smooths out lumps and makes a slightly trimmer silhouette. It reduces the outline of love-handles and man-boobs. I think it could be engineered to pull a bit tighter on the sides under the chest, and at the side obliques.

I'm not a big guy, but I'll say I'm on the "softer" side. (My chest isn't where I'd like it to be.) Wearing this smooths everything, giving the appearance of a more toned chest. The tank is great because it's discreet, feels like a regular undershirt, and you can wear it in the summer, even under other tanks (I twist the straps a little so they can stay hidden under the normal tank straps) It also reminds me of my posture, I stand straighter while wearing. I wouldn't recommend wearing this if you're going to be sitting down a lot, it will roll up at the waist. These last a long time, my previous one I had for many years.
