This receipt paper is designed for handheld POS terminals, specifically the type commonly used for “order at the table” and “pay at the table” point-of-sale systems. In other words, these are the smaller thermal rolls intended for modern payment devices and slimline handheld terminals, not the large countertop receipt printer rolls you would use at a traditional checkout station. The manufacturer markets these as compatible with the Valor PayTech VL110 and VL500 payment terminals, and while that is probably accurate, it is also somewhat overstated in the usual marketing fashion. Thermal paper is thermal paper. These rolls are not infused with Valor magic. They are not electronically keyed to a particular manufacturer. They are simply a correctly sized roll of thermal paper. The real determinant of compatibility is not the brand name on the payment device. The determinant is whether the roll dimensions match what the device can physically accept. If the paper is the correct width, and the roll can physically fit into the unit, the printer will use it. These rolls are 57mm wide, which is the standard “2 1/4 inch” width most people recognize. The listed roll length is 55 feet, which is slightly better than the more common 50-foot rolls. That additional length is not a revolutionary feature, but it is a practical one. In a busy environment, fewer paper swaps means fewer disruptions, fewer crooked loads, fewer paper feeding issues, and fewer calls from staff who suddenly “can’t print receipts” during a rush. The more important specification, and the one that separates people who understand POS consumables from those who just randomly click “Buy Now,” is the outside diameter. These are 36mm outside diameter rolls. That dimension is critical because handheld terminals have limited internal space. If you try to use a roll with too large an outside diameter, it will not seat properly. It may not close correctly. It may bind. It may feed inconsistently. It may not feed at all. That is not a paper problem, it is an “operator ordered the wrong size roll” problem, which is a category of problem that has caused far too much unnecessary suffering in the POS world. So yes, these are marketed for Valor devices, but in reality, any thermal printer or terminal on the planet that takes 57mm wide paper and can physically fit a 36mm outside diameter roll can use these. The limitation is not the brand, it is the geometry. Width and outside diameter decide everything. Roll length is secondary, but still useful. The package includes 20 rolls per case, which is a reasonable quantity for a business that wants to stock properly without having to reorder constantly. The rolls arrived in good condition. They were not crushed, not warped, not dented, and they were packaged appropriately. This matters more than people think, because misshapen rolls can cause feed issues, and feed issues are not fun when you are dealing with payment devices and staff who just want the machine to work. The manufacturer notes these are BPA free, which is good and should be standard at this point, but it is still worth stating. It also includes a red stripe end-of-roll indicator, which is genuinely useful. That stripe gives staff a warning before the roll runs out, rather than failing without notice mid-transaction. The listing also claims easy loading with no stickers and a free end release to reduce jamming. In practice, it loads exactly as thermal paper should. It feeds normally, prints normally, and performs like ordinary thermal paper. Thermal performance is entirely standard. The paper prints clearly when heat is applied. It produces the expected black text and graphics without any ribbon or ink. There are no special quirks or surprises. And that is the highest compliment I can give receipt paper. Receipt paper should be boring. Receipt paper should be predictable. Receipt paper should function without drama. Overall, this is a properly made set of thermal receipt rolls for slimline handheld terminals and similar compact POS devices. If your terminal requires 57mm width paper and accommodates a 36mm outside diameter roll, these should work perfectly fine. If your device cannot physically fit a 36mm outside diameter roll, then it will not matter what brand name is printed on the Amazon listing. It will not fit, and it will not work, and the laws of physics will remain undefeated. ... show more

  • Vonlyst Receipt Paper Roll for Valor Paytech VL 110 and VL 500 Credit Card Machine (10 Rolls) Vonlyst Receipt Paper Roll for Valor Paytech VL 110 and VL 500 Credit Card Machine (10 Rolls)
Item Package Quantity: 20
I ordered this thermal receipt paper through the Amazon Vine Program for review. The paper rolls are 2.25 inches wide x 55 feet in length, which is a standard thermal printing receipt paper specification. I wanted to review it in my thermal printing calculator (Victor 1227) as I suspect it is compatible with a wide variety of thermal printing devices. The description mentioned credit card machines and point of sale paper receipts. The paper spindle is 9.8 mm ID (just over 3/8”), rolls is 2.25” wide x 55’. This is a standard size for thermal receipt paper. It has good sensitivity and provides crisp dark black characters. The paper is smooth and will work in just about any thermal printing device that requires 2.25 inch thermal paper. The paper is Bisphenol A (BPA) free. BPA used to be the heat reactive coating on receipt paper but can be absorbed through the skin and presents a potential human health risk. The leading edge of the paper was wrinkled slightly where attached to the roll. I appreciate the absence of tape or other adhesive as you don’t have to trim the end. The wrinkling was minor and did not affect performance. The paper is resistant to damage by water. There is no “ink” so fading or smearing of the characters was not an issue. The print remained dark and legible while wet and after drying. The paper held up well, so this appears to be good quality thermal paper. Vonlyst seems to go out of their way to imply this paper will only work in the Paytech VL 100 and VL 500 machine and is not compatible with anything else. The “exclusive” branding appears to be marketing rather than a technical requirement. These terminals use standard 2.25" direct thermal paper, and any roll that meets the size and core specifications will work. Paying a premium for branded paper isn’t necessary. The same would apply to small portable printers, handheld printers, and cash registers. The paper worked flawlessly in my printing calculator. As far as value is concerned, the 20 pack is listed @ $22.60 or $1.13/roll for 55 feet and is about 2-3 times as expensive as similar papers on the market. Vendor-branded thermal paper is not technically proprietary. Devices accept standard 2.25″ direct thermal rolls, so third-party or bulk paper meeting size and core specifications is fully compatible. Using non-branded paper reduces per-roll cost without affecting performance or reliability. Even though the performance of this product is very good, budget minded customers may want to consider compatible alternatives. If you feel that purchasing a branded product is less “risky”, then by all means, buy this product! So, 5 stars for the paper, 3 stars for the marketing. ... show more

I order credit card paper all the time for work. I have been using the same brand for a while and this one I decided to try because the cost was a little less. It fits perfectly in our VL100 machine. The paper prints without smudges and it copies very clear. The paper tears easily from the machine as well. ... show more
