We've gone through lots of IKEA furniture in our life, and we bought two of these to replace two IKEA beds that were absolute garbage. It's typical particle board IKEA-like furniture, but the overall finished product was better than I expected. The mattress supports were almost 1/2" thick sheets that covered the entire surface vs the rolled slats and 1/8" panels from IKEA. It made for a stronger finish and my daughter is no longer complaining about the mattress. The old slats just pushed more springs through the mattress. It takes roughly 60 minutes to assemble the entire bed - 30 minutes for the whole frame and 30 minutes for the three drawers. The one thing I was not pleased with was the back of the drawer. The front and sides of the drawers have slats along the bottom edge to slide in the bottom panel. The back does not and you have to nail the piece in from the bottom - be careful not to split the board with a nail! The bottom panel is not flush with the back piece, so you can't even use the entire thickness for the nail. Other than that, the end result was very nice and the kids love the beds. I was even able to stand on the bed to do some final adjustments with posters et al. No creaking or fear I was going to break the bed. ... show more

    • Good for the most part
This product is sturdy for the most part. It's as sturdy as particle board can be. The do-it-yourself instructions are illustrated, but it would be slightly easier to follow if it illustrated the polished white finish and the bare particle board. There are extra supports to prevent the drawers from buckling if they're overloaded. The parts that hold the frame together were slightly loose. If someone were to pull on the head board of the frame (or the foot board), the bed could easily fall apart. I used wood glue to re-enforce them. I don't think it should be that way, but either way, it was easy enough to fix the problem. Would I recommend this? I'd say no if you want something that's good to go right out of the box. I'd say yes if you're looking to save on the price and you have some wood glue available. ... show more

    • Purchased 2022 for my little brother when he visits…
I got this bed for when my little brother visits to have in my guest room because it had drawers on it for him to make his self more at home instead of out of a duffel bag. I fixed the guest room up to be his room, home away from home. Well, I didn’t expect this bed to be spectacular but certainly didn’t expect what I got!!! This bed turned out to be a nightmare. It had hardware missing. Pieces to the bed we’re literally backwards?! Who made this freakin bed?! Then to top it off a couple the drawer metal on metal glides to make the drawers glide in and out , only one drawer had the correct set. So, the other two drawers are worthless. Well, until I can take the time to go but two sets to correct it. I was able to get hardware to just complete the bed. I pray it just stays together. My husband suggested throwing it away. After all the days of work I did , I couldn’t. I may have to if it falls apart. I certainly put enough hardware. The guy at the store help a lot. I will fix the drawers I’m just not wanting to bother right now. I want a break from that bed. Lol My husband said “ Don’t buy furniture from Amazon cause that’s what you are going to get” no I’ve gotten good furniture from Amazon. It’s the sellers on Amazon I’ve got to pay attention to and this is one I DEFINITELY WILL NOT EVER BUY FROM AGAIN!! IF I COULD GOVE ZERO STARS THEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT! Had not been for the pandemic 😷 and us being at our other home instead of where , I had the bed I would have known it had DEFECTIVE issues and had it picked up by UPS at the senders freakin cost!!     • Great price - you will need time to put it together
First off, if you're looking to put this bed together quickly - in 1/2 an hour so, you can forget it, it will defnitely take some time. The instructions are very easy - they're pictorial, so once you've identifed all the labeled pieces and organized them, you shouldn't have a problem putting it together. Don't expect oak for this price - it's MDF (compressed wood) so you'll have to make sure it does not get wet as MDF does not get along with water - it will swell up and chip. Once you put it together, it's a very nice bed. I got the bookcase/headboard for it and it really looks nice once you put it all together - my daughter absolutely loves it, and too me, that's the most important thing. I ordered it from Cymax using Amazon Prime, but it took a couple of extra days to get it - they responded to my shipping query extremely promptly, so I have to point out their great customer service. Bed looks nice, perfect for my child! But the smell of the wood it's bad. It's been a month since we bought it and it's not getting better. Any advice on how to get rid of that awful smell?

I improved on assembly by using titebond glue and Quad sealant on the inserts. Well machined product for a particle board set. Shipping company broke 3 pieces, The seller responded quickly and did what they promised, as we had company coming. Good product support.

I love the look of this bed! It's very sleek and looks great in my son's room. The spaceof the drawers isn't much as I was only able to fit like 8 pairs of pants (mind you it's for my 4 year old son so 8 isn't a lot) but it does the job. The frame underneath the mattress is a cheap plywood so I feel like it'll break when my son get's older. It does the job for now and he's happy! ... show more
