Update on March 10, 2020: less than 2 months, and the bed has broken!!! Not cool! Original post: After reading so many negative reviews, I was sure we'd run into problems. My 14 yr old daughter and I were able to put it together in one evening. (The package is HEAVY, so we had to take it out of the box piece-by-piece in order to move it to her room.) The only problem in putting it together was my error in using a wrong screw in one spot. That was easy enough to correct. Oh! There is a center support leg that isn't perfectly square, so it created a minor misalignment in the surface pieces. Even so, it is not troublesome to function nor interruptive to a good night's sleep. The only thing thing I'm not happy with is the drawer not sitting properly its' track. She shouldn't care less, so I didn't call the manufacturer. It turned out better than expected, and I remain happy with this inexpensive option for a new bed. ... show more

This has got to be the absolute worst product on the market. Do not waste your time purchasing this item. It arrived to me damaged. Tried to call the company and they were trying to force me to choose between a replacement part or pay a restocking fee. You're not gonna restock a damaged item. Why must I pay a restocking fee? The product is atrociously inferior and should be downright illegal to be selling. A bed is a long term investment. Who wants to buy a bed that is so inferior that would only last a few months. Lots of parts to put together. But a very sturdy piece of furniture once put together. The Gold Star here is the customer service from South Shore. Above and beyond. Super nice, super responsive. They sent me 2 of the same bottom pcs. 2 B1's instead of a B1 and a B2. The customer service was amazing. Quick to responded and very helpful. They very quickly sent out a new B2 pc to my house - no charge. The pc arrived extremely well packaged and in great shape. It fit perfect and looks great. The overall bed frame is very good for the price. You have to follow directions and pay attention to details. They have gained a repeat customer. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for
I purchased this bed two years ago when I moved into a new apartment. Putting it together was frustrating, but manageable. This bed was fine. It wasn't great, it did not survive my attempt to move it, and the slippery platform surface allowed the mattress to move around a lot and led to a lot of bruised shins. It was a $180 step above putting the mattress directly onto the floor. Did I expect greatness? No, because I did not pay for greatness. I had hoped it would at least make it through one move, but that did not end up happening. I wouldn't purchase it again, but I also don't regret the purchase - it served its purpose, if not particularly well. On the plus side, because it was so cheaply made, we were able to break the thing into pieces pretty easily and therefore did not have to arrange for special pickup or haul it to the dump - we didn't even need any tools to rip the thing into easily discarded pieces.     • Its sturdy so far and noiseless.
We have had it for about 2 months but 3 weeks of that was waiting for replacement parts and then to get the motivation to put it all together in the heat. We received 3 broken parts in the box(UPS delivery). I called the number on a sunday afternoon and talked to a live person who sent me the replacements right away. I received them 4 days later, via FedEx. We bought this because my husbands back was hurting due to our frame and foundation breaking during a move. He needed a firm base. He loves it so far. His back has been great. Mine not so much. I like a soft fluffy bed, but I will get over it. The frame looks nice and goes well with our furniture. The drawer was a lot bigger and sturdier than I expected after reading the review. It holds our extra xbox one, plus keepsakes and picture frames. Putting it together almost had us signing divorce papers, though. It was like the tent experience all over. The biggest bonus, our bed no longer makes noise. It used to sound like a creaky old haunted house every time we got in the bed or moved in it. Now...complete utter silence. That in itself is worth the money. ... show more

This bed was really cute once it was set up in my teenage daughter's room. It was exactly what she wanted for a platform bed. However, The process of putting it together was a bit crazy. The instructions were not included but thankfully were available as a PDF on the company's website. The items were labeled but took a little bit of searching them closely to find the stamps that were randomly placed. The drawer is useless. I told my daughter to just pretend it wasn't even there. It came with a little wrench but you also needed a screwdriver for most of the screws. Also, many times the instructions had you screwing into holes that weren't pre-drilled. It would have been nice if the instructions told me that I might need a power drill to make it easier. I knew what I was getting into when buying a self assembly unit on Amazon so all in all it is fine and will do the job but I just wish the instructions were included and more clear. ... show more
