I purchased this with my expectations set appropriately for the price and type of item, and it seems to fit the bill quite well. I had space constraints to work in and this dresser fit perfectly where it needed to go, and none of the local furniture stores had one that would fit in these dimensions without looking like it was made for kids. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition, no damage to the box or anything inside. I was worried from the reviews about the drawers being unfinished wood so I had a roll of contact paper ready to line the drawers with. Turns out the bottom, rear, and sides were all factory coated, unlike photos from older reviews. The inside of the drawer fronts is still unfinished but that was easy to cover with some contact paper. They must have read reviews here or listened to other customer feedback about the insides of the drawers at least. Dresser appears to be sturdy for being made of MDF. Instructions said the top had a 75lb limit and I had no trouble putting at least 50lb of stuff on top including a laser printer. That said, it is still MDF and I wouldn't push my luck with it. It was fairly easy to put together in a few hours by myself, though an extra pair of hands would be helpful in certain steps. The instructions caution not to use power tools but if you have a power drill with a clutch/torque limit just set it low and it's fine. I set my DeWalt drill to 2-3 and then hand tightened things from there. Saves my back and a lot of time. Some of the cam locks are in an awkward place for getting good leverage with a screwdriver but I used a ratcheting T-handle and had zero issues with doing that. The only significant negative is the drawer sides and back are a bit undersized compared to the front. They could easily be a couple inches taller to make sure things don't fall out the back. There were some minor issues with the instructions and assembly but nothing I couldn't figure out. For example, the drawer rails for both sides of the center divider both screw into the same holes so if you tighten one side too much the other cannot be tightened enough and ends up very loose, so you have to find a good balance in the middle. Quirky but not a huge problem. The hardware for the main body of the dresser was nicely separated into bags of similar parts but the hardware for the drawers was all mixed together in a single bag. Overall, at least so far, I have zero regrets and would buy it again without hesitation. ... show more

Received this in slightly damaged box, but the item is listed as 113 lbs, and the box is medium-light weight cardboard. One part was smashed and two had crush damage. I'd requested a replacement, but while re-packing, I felt the replacement would almost certainly be similarly smashed. I tried to cancel, but it was too late. Sure enough, when the replacement arrived, it also had some damage to the box, and after beginning to unbox I found two pieces damaged. It's so difficult to jigsaw puzzle the parts back into the box, I only took about a third of the parts out, before giving up. I first thought I might glue the one busted piece, but after discovering the big entire top cracked, I stopped and re-packed. I don't know how many other parts were damaged. It should have been DOUBLE boxed, and using heavier gauge cardboard. For veneered particle board furniture, it looked like it would have been OK, so I don't know how many "stars" to give it. I got this dresser for my room and when it came in it had a huge hole in the box. Me and my boyfriend begin to build it and the pieces had no letters on it like it was suppose to so it took us about an hour to put together and we were missing pieces so my dresser came out rlly weird and looks like a puzzle piece from the front. It’s very sturdy but isn’t handle with care and isn’t properly packaged so I don’t recommend buying. Hope this helps :] ... show more

I thought I would be one of the lucky ones and get a decent made dresser. I had gotten the nightstands for these and didn't have any problems with them. I probably would be more upset if I had paid more than what I did. When I got it all of the pieces were in place and nothing was broken. I had issues with putting the legs together and it turned out that the hole was too small. Having no way of making it bigger I had put some gorilla glue on it to hold it together. If you do decide to buy this some reason, make sure you get some extra strength glue. Trust me you will need it. Putting it together took about an hour total and that was with help. Definitely a two person job as the parts are pretty heavy. Here's the (really) annoying part - The drawrrs don't fit properly in the dresser. As another reviewer stated, the holes are not aligned properly so when you put your drawers in you will have one or two of them that are lopsided. This is a pain because it prevents you from opening another drawer up as they bump into each other. I basically played musical chairs with the drawers for an hour trying to get them to fit in a space where they can all fit properly. In the end I still had one drawer that would not fit in. I thought it would not be a big deal until a couple of weeks later when I went to pull out the drawer and it collapsed completely (silly me for thinking that these drawers could hold up without glue) and the bottom board cracked at the back. Note that I did not have anything heavy in this drawer, just some socks and stockings. I hate to add any more to my dresser without worrying about the whole thing collapsing on me. I'll have to deal with it since this is my first dresser and I don't have the time or money to get another one, but when I move this thing is going into the trash.
