    • Surprisingly great amp for the money!
I have been an Auto Sound installer for the better part of 35 years, and I can honestly say that I am rather impressed with this amp. I usually avoid such 'Budget Amplifiers", but I am very familiar with the Soundstrem brand so I gave this one a shot for an install in a 2007 Toyota Camry with Kicker 6x9's on the back Deck, and ProBass OEM replacements for the Doors, and an Alpine UTE-73 Head End unit. I was also pleased to see it lists itself as a Class AB amp and not Class D because in my not so humble opinion....Class D amps SUCK! But that is a topic for discussion elsewhere. I'm old, leave me be :) I did not use the built in crossover setup as I needed all four channels so this review is based on using the amp strictly for amplification. Let me tell you.....This system ROCKED!! SOLID bass, smooth highs. LOTS of power. The box reads 1800W. Yeah, I don't think so. Maybe on a REALLY good day for a millisecond with the channels bridged for two channel operation, but thats about it. Now the more realistic rating of 150watts RMS per channel is in my opinion a very honest rating. This system was able to shake the car mirrors without fail to the point you could not see out the rear view mirror! Why I gave this a 4 star rating for installation ease is because the manual is rather poorly written by someone who may not put down ENGLISH as their primary language. Considering my background I knew what to do, but for the first timer, it could be confusing. Other than that I would not hesitate recommending this amp. Another note. Make sure you use 8 gauge OFC or tinned copper power lines DIRECTLY to the battery! And an 80 amp fuse AT the battery. DO NOT USE THAT S*** COPPER COATED ALUMINUM WIRE. Otherwise the amp may not perform very well, and/or you could start a fire. You have been warned in writing! Lastly, off the record, I am seriously thinking of removing my 30 year old vintage 250 watt ADS amp and replace it with two of these amps. One in 4 channel mode for the doors, the other bridged to two channel mode for two 8 inch subs for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Total system power 1400Watts! Would be a huge project to redo the Jeep, but us old kids like our toys too! ... show more

    • The bass is so deep and glossy.
I have one side of this amp bridged on 2 JL AUDIO SHALLOW MOUNT 13 INCH SUB'S, and it drops lower and bass is so smooth and clear, that it is running circles around my 750 watt kicker amp. The kick is an older model kicker, around a 2007 model. The kicker won't drop lower than 50hz, but the SOUNDSTREAM DROPS DOWN TO AS LOW AS 27HZ. THE KICKER IS SLIGHTLY MORE POWERFUL, BUT THE SOUNDSTREAM SOUNDS 110 TIMES BETTER. I MEAN MY JL'S REFUSE TO BOTTOM OUT!!!! THE KICKER,( AS STRONG AS IT IS ), DROP'S ALL BASS UNDER 50HZ, BUT HIT'S HARDER. THE SOUNDSTREAM HITS SLIGHTLY LIGHTER, BUT DELIVERS DEVASTATING BASS AT ALL RANGES!!!!! THE ONLY WAY I SEE THE KICKER 750RMS AMP OF POSSIBLY COMING CLOSE IS TO BUY A SOUNDSTREAM BASS RECONSTRUCTION UNIT AND ADD IT TO HELP THE KICKER. BUT WHY DEAL WITH THE EXTRA WIRES AND SPACE CONSUMPTION, WHEN THIS $80 SOUNDSTREAM XTREME B HAS IT BEAT. STRAIGHT OUT THE BOX!!!!. ... show more

    • It gets too hot
After 20 minutes playing with 6 6.5 speakers it gets too hot and turns off, it is supposed that between the 6 speakers they use 400 RMS and the amplifier is 1800W it should be power without problem, that's why I don't recommend it

    • This Soundstream amp is better than expected.
I have been working with audio equipment for more than thirty years and always wanted to try sound stream amps and now that I have had the opportunity to purchase one I have not been let down. The sound is great, the power is available, and the only thing now is to stay out of the car.

    • channel 4 on a brand new amp doesn't work.
Its a 4 channel amp. The channel 4 don't work, puts out god awful noise. I haven't even had the amp 1 month. Only been installed for 2 weeks and I was gone out of town for the past 6 days. I thought it was blown speakers and bought new speakers. Turns out channel 4 negetive don't work. I can't even bridge the amp because of this problem. I'm electrician by trade, warranty says must be installed by pro installer. I call it a factory defect. I already have 2 bxa7500.1 amps that work just fine. Beware. After 1 month I no longer have the box either FUN. UPDATE 7 days later they still haven't contacted me back. Also ZERO AMAZON SUPPORT in this problem!!!! ... show more
