    • A pleasant surprise and a major upgrade!
As a longtime JBL PartyBox user (specifically the On-the-Go model), I was a little hesitant to switch to a new brand, Soundcore, for my karaoke needs. But after hearing so many positive things about their products, I decided to take a leap of faith and upgrade to the Rave 3S. And boy, am I glad I did! This speaker is a significant step up from my previous one. The sound quality is fantastic, with a powerful bass that fills the room without sounding muddy. The highs are crisp and clear, making it perfect for both listening to music and, of course, karaoke. One of the standout features for me is the AI vocal remover. It's incredibly effective at isolating and removing the lead vocals from any song, leaving you with a perfect backing track. I was genuinely surprised at how well it works. The included microphones are also a great bonus. I love the dedicated controls for microphone volume and the ability to mute the microphones directly on the speaker. This level of control is something I didn't have before, and it's a game-changer for my karaoke sessions. While it's hard to find fault with such a great product, if I had to nitpick, I'd say the only minor inconvenience is the slight pause in the music when you turn on a microphone. It's a small thing, but it interrupts the flow for a second. That said, it's a minor detail in an otherwise flawless speaker. Overall, the Soundcore Rave 3S has completely exceeded my expectations. This speaker is on another level! From the clarity of sound, to the deep bass, to the two wireless mics, to the AI voice deletion for karaoke, to the light display, just everything, this was done right by Soundcore. Very loud and the AI voice removal feature is great for using YouTube videos instead of lousy karaoke versions. Worth the price, but still, for the price it should come with rechargeable mics or at least a rechargeable battery pack that can be swapped out for batteries if necessary. Also, considering it's a party-focused item, it should come with the option of four mics and places to hold them. ... show more

Update: I am happy to report that Soundcore promptly and professionally replied to my concern. I was notified that they were working on a firmware update that should address my issue; I received an update the following day and it resolved my mic cutoff problem, which was a deal breaker. I am upgrading my rating to "4" in acknowledgement of Soundcore's timely and professional communication and the resolution of my biggest issue with the product. Unfortunately I am still experiencing problems with hissing/distortion in connection with using the provided wireless mics. I do not experience such distortion when using a wired mic plugged into the back of the speaker (please see video). While disappointing, I find the wireless mics "good enough", and will keep the system as I am satisfied with the overall sound quality and volume of the speaker, and love the voice volume reduction feature. As a satisfied owner of the Soundcore X600 speaker, a pair of the Select 4 Go speakers and many Anker power banks, chargers and cables, I have found Anker/Soundcore products to be well made and a good value. I am hopeful that Soundcore will eventually address the humming/distortion in a future firmware update. If so I will update this review. Original review: The provided wireless microphones that came with my unit (Purchased 3/19/25) cutoff intermittently, making the unit unusable for karaoke. While I am also experiencing the mic hissing/distortion issue mentioned in various YouTube reviews, this cutoff problem is a deal breaker. This video compares the Rave 3S mics with a JBL wireless mic and an inexpensive Samson wired mic. I hope Soundcore can resolve this issue before my 30 day return window closes.
