I've been looking for buds with good call quality. I use them a lot for work calls, both on the phone and Teams/zoom. I have tried quite a few brands/models over the years, and most sound very good but pick up too much background noise from my end on calls. For video calls on the laptop, I had been using my web cam mic with the noise filtering in nvidia's Broadcast, which worked phenomenally well, but my new laptop does not have an nvidia GPU, so no more Broadcast. Plus, this didn't help with regular phone calls. Most recently, I tried the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro (I also have an S25 Ultra). I had high hopes, but these were a huge disappointment. The sound quality was good, but the fit and comfort were poor. Worse was that the mic volume would randomly drop on calls to the point that the other end could barely hear me (before eventually returning to normal level). I wasted so much time researching this (and found other people reporting it) and troubleshooting (disabling noise canceling, in-ear detection, etc.). Finally returned them. After reading about the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and watching several youtube videos, I bought a pair. And I love them! The ANC for listening is great, but the mic noise cancelling on calls is INCREDIBLE! It works at least as well as nvidia Broadcast, and it's built into the buds, meaning it works for phone and laptop calls! That's another thing, these support 3-way multipoint, meaning 3 devices can be paired at the same time and dynamically switched between. So many times I've been caught trying to switch devices or connections when an unexpected call came in. While I'm thrilled with the call quality, I am also very happy with the sound, fit, and comfort. The wing tips are a nice addition. I also really like the case. While I didn't pay extra for the max, the display is still nice and functional. Plus that slide open/close feels slick. I've read concerns regarding battery life, but it hasn't seemed bad to me. Then again, I'm not turning on all of the battery hungry options, such as voice control and AI enhancement. That reminds me of yet another thing that impressed me...the companion app. It's is well designed, easy to use, and has a lot of features. I don't think there is any competition if call quality is important to you. I would definitely buy these again. And no, I don't work for Anker, and I wasn't compensated for this review! :D

Ok lets get started Sound quality- Impeccable one of the best i have heard in a long time Dolby audio plus the AI tuning on these make this a great pair. The two silicone parts of the headphones allow for exchanging and soundcore provides extra tips which allow for the best fit inside the ear canal. Never seen this design used before but i must say it worked out tremendously well. It is very important to make sure you find the best fit for your ear before you start testing these. This changes the game entirely. Battery life- Wireless charging is a huge plus. So far so good no issues there but of course battery will degrade overtime but so far I am getting quite a bit of use out of these throughout the day. Build quality- Don’t get me wrong the screen is nice and functions well. Do i see the need for it ehh im in the middle. Honestly the plastic on the case seems a bit cheap the headphones themselves are great build quality but the case not so much. Not a negative but just something to look out for because now you have to worry about not dropping the case and screen cracking on the case. Call quality- Incredible one of the best I have ever heard you can literally watch reviews on these they are top of the line and i have no complaints here. App use- Customization on the app is great I enjoyed every aspect of it and loved digging through the many settings it has to offer. One thing to note is that Ai enhancements to your audio says that it will lower battery life so I tend not to use it since im a heavy listener. Better to switch it to Dolby audio or custom sound balance. But overall app use was great and no issues. Workout use- Will I use these for my workouts? Yes they are comfortable and fit in your ear precisely so no worries on them falling out while lifting. Price- A little expensive but you really do get a lot of what you pay for. Just the noise cancelling and the sound quality pays for itself. Pair that with a Guinness world record call quality, you really cannot beat it for the price point. Do yourself a favor and buy these find the perfect tips for your ear and you will not be disappointed. Hope this helped someone.

These are excellent! I am a headphone fan, not in the typical audiophile sense but I love testing out the newest gadgets and earbuds fit that bill. As such I have a extensive collection of mostly dissapointing sets so when I saw Anker was coming out with this new AI enhanced set I knew I had to try them. I skipped out on the AI note taking capabilities since every app/platform I use these days also has AI built in so it felt redundant but the standar Pro model hit a sweet spot for me. You get the supurb call quality, a screen to easily read battery level (which is great btw) and all the bells and whistles (wireless charging/LDAC) what more could you ask for? Now to the fit, again outstanding! I was coming from a pair of Bose QC Ultra Buds, which I loved the sound of but the bluetooth performance lacked substantially, often leaving me repairing them before zoom calls due to connection instability with windows laptops. Not an issue with these Liberty 5 Pro's ,and having multipoint connection while also being able to utilize LDAC with my Pixel phone is INCREDIBLE. To top it off they're comfortable to wear, I've had no issues wearing these for over an hour during commutes to and from work on a loud train. Noise cancelling is good and transparency mode works well too. Theses are a definite buy, 1000% recomend.

This is a really nice product. It comes with 4 different sized ear tips (XXS-L, M sized installed) plus 3 wings. The ear buds fit nicely in the ear canal and lock in place with the wings. There is some trial and error to putting them in correctly. The ear tips absolutely give noise cancelling which is weird if you're using them for work meetings or taking calls since you can only hear your own voice muffled. I appreciated the distance I could go before my Bluetooth started to fracture. Having said that, the very first work meeting I took using them, the connection went weird and both my voice and the voice of my coworker started cracking. The only fix was to disconnect and reconnect which is a problem in a meeting. Now to my own personal issue - these did not fit in my ears even using the XXS tips. I have a small ear canal and even these ear buds worked their way out of my ear when I would speak. The wings just couldn't lock them in enough. So, back to ear cuff style I go as, so far, they are the only style ear buds that work with my ear size and shape. I would have loved these otherwise since the sound was great and I really liked the battery life screen on the case. It's a great product.

I am comparing these against earbuds I have from Google and Bose. My decision to purchase was based on reviews comparing against other brands and a number of comparison videos; however I feel those fell short for me. Though depending on what you need them for, I can see the use case. I will break this feedback into the following categories: price, unspoken functions (e.g. connection speed to phone, firmware updates), sound quality, microphone quality, ANC functionality, and fit/comfort. Price: I won't give an actual price as time, competition, place of purchase, sales, etc can impact what you actually pay. Comparatively, I think the Liberty 5 Pro is a decent price for what you get. The other earbuds I have both cost more and excel in places that are meaningful to me (ANC being a big one), but the mileage may differ for you and if the Liberty 5 Pro is in your price range, I don't think it would be a horrible choice. Unspoken Functions: There are a number of items that fit here. One of the most notable to me is the screen on the case. I get what they are trying to achieve, but it feels like a gimmick to me. The screen is hard to see in the sunlight, so if you plan to use it for managing profiles or ANC levels it is rough in full sun. I am also on the larger side, so it is tough to navigate with my larger fingers. Maybe the Max version does better, but I find the phone app to have quick responsiveness, explanations of what you are changing, and a better experience than the case navigation. I do like the default power levels of the earbuds and case which is better than any on-case power display I have seen. Connection speed from the case to my ear is the fastest of the earbuds I have. It is almost instantaneous and made me realize how frustrated I get with the other brands when it takes a few seconds to register and be able to play music. The earbuds also seem to be responsive in pausing music when removed which can be hit or miss with my Google earbuds. Firmware updates hopefully come on a rare occasion. Out of the box I applied a firmware update which took 15 minutes. Given what these are running, that seems long and it seems odd to need to schedule an update around when I want to use the earbuds. Though the other two I have will occasionally have updates, I haven't seen them exceed a couple minutes let alone the 15 these took. Sound Quality: I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality from these. I am not an audiophile, but would put them close to what I get on the Bose and ahead of the Google earbuds. I think the Bose wins out here mainly because in my use case, they are more effective in the ANC category which gives the impression of clearer sound. However while in an office without the daily commute on a train, it is hard for me to notice a difference between these and Bose. One item I have noticed, these can get louder than both the Bose and Google earbuds. I only had them at about 40-50% and feel the volume was near what I get at 100% on the other two I have. Microphone Quality: This is the best microphone experience I have had. Both of my other earbuds and even a set I used to have for my work phone (Apple device) still picked up quite a bit of backup noise while on a walk, if it was windy, or during commute times (whether flying or on train). These earbuds stand out on that front, and I see them as a pre and post-workday solution when I need to be on calls. ANC: Compared to my other earbuds, this is where these fall flat. They do some and I have gone through the various fittings to see if I could make it more effective, but they really don't cut it for me. Whether fair or not, my baseline here are the Bose earbuds which have the best ANC I have experienced. Though these do, in my opinion, perform on par with the Google earbuds (which I don't use as much mainly because of the ANC shortfall). A big part of my frustration likely comes from the marketing and other reviews that don't differentiate well between the ANC and microphone filtering. The ANC itself is okay, but not what I would consider great. Comfort/Fit: These are acceptable in my opinion for comfort. I don't think they are uncomfortable, but unlike the other earbuds, I know they are there. It is hard to forget I have them in. However, I will say that these feel more firmly seated than my other earbuds. Similar to the ANC, I really don't wear the Google earbuds much because even though they claim improvements, I still have them pop out on runs, workouts, and long walks. These seem to stay firmly seated with needing to reposition. Overall: For me, I wouldn't call these my favorite earbuds, but do see where they fill a gap for me during conference calls while on the go. I use public transit (trains) which can be loud and produce a lot of background noise when I am speaking. While the ANC on my end isn't as good as I would like, the volume control of the Liberty 5 Pro compensates for that shortfall, and makes a better call experience for my use case.

Disclaimer: I am a basshead audiophile (yes that's a thing). Also, I have a lengthy way of writing, and AI did not help me write this. I bought these mainly for long music listening sessions (4+ hours per day at minimum). Just before these, I bought the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 pro earbuds to replace my failing Jabra 75t Active Elites. At this point, since having secured the Galaxy Buds 4 Pros, I was looking for a secondary pair, as while the sound sounded good enough on them (I could immediately notice and finally take advantage of ultra-high quality audio via amazon music for once), I thoroughly missed the chest pumping bass my Jabra 75t Active Elite earbuds had... That being said, these Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds would be d*** near satisfying for someone who, like me, listens to bass heavy songs in the genres of EDM, K-pop, hip-hop and R&B, and specifically LIVES for the lows/Bass drops. However, if you prefer a standard audiophile's audio profile (comprised of neutrals/mids and vocal-rich clarity) from your earbuds, these would probably be disappointing, even after using the features-rich EQ customization options within the Soundcore app. In that case, get the Galaxy buds 4 pros. I say this, because I do notice that even within the many EQ customizations, probably due to these earbuds being single driver instead of dual driver, you either end up with more clarity in vocals while sacrificing lows, or you get great mids, but suffer in both bass and vocal clarity. The Galaxy Buds 4 pros (and if I am not mistaken, some earlier soundcore pros) utilize dual drivers with dedicated woofers and tweeters. As of the time of this review there were two updates for the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds. The first is an automatic, as you are told it requires updating soon after creating your Soundcore account and linking your earbuds within their dedicated app. However, if you go into the settings within their app, there is a specific LDAC update you can opt into. I decided to download and install this secondary update as well. If in case you were worried about not liking the sound profiles after the update, not to worry, you can actually turn it off in several ways (i.e. if you turn on AI enhanced audio or Dolby, it warns you it will disable the LDAC mode, which was enabled by downloading that second update). I have tried all the different sound settings: AI enhanced, Dolby 360, Soundcore's very own unique listening profile for you via HearID as well as their own presets. I found "Powerful Bass" within their presets to be my favorite. Alternatively, I even made 4 custom audio profiles (under "curated sound effects) and was surprised there seems to be no limit to how many custom EQ profiles you can create & save. I have never had this as an option before, whether on my phone's EQ settings themselves or in any earbuds I've owned. Usually if you want to change your custom EQ settings, you end up losing whatever you previously had set up, which has always been frustrating for me. Anyone who listens to music, even within the same genre, knows that some songs you need to bring vocals a little more forward at times, while other songs require heavy tuning on the lows. This is a MAJOR win for the Soundcore!! I am so nitpicky about stuff like this, and when I find a good custom EQ setting for majority of the songs I listen to, then I stop listening to the several songs that I like that don't sound good with it, strictly because I don't want to redo my custom EQ preset for those few, and then have to go back and manually revert the EQ/frequency settings for the others. I know a lot of people (myself included) have praised call quality to the high heavens that at this point I don't really see the need to go into that in this review. It is a very nice feature to have, that now, I can honestly say, I don't want to go without it anymore, but when originally deciding which earbuds to buy, audio profile EQ settings, as well as the design of the earbuds was my top priority. This was because I found my ears not well-suited to the stem earbuds of the galaxy buds 4 pros, so it hurt after having them in for a while, and the placement of controls were so uncomfortable when trying to increase or lower volume, and even moreso to change tracks and pause/play songs, since the pinch controls are too finicky and I don't seem to be able to consistently press in the right way or timing to accomplish what I am trying to get it to do at the time. I thoroughly miss having physical buttons like the Jabras, but since that is hard to come by these days (where music sound quality or another important feature is not sacrificed) I decided on Anker's Soundcore Liberty 5 pros. I really like how customizable it is to set what happens depending on the number of taps, and even to set which side, left or right, does whatever command you want (i.e. tap once to start/stop music on the left earbud, while tapping once on the right earbud can skip a track). Being that the controls for both tapping and swiping (swiping up for volume up or swiping down for volume down) are on the outside central part of the buds instead of on the side/inside of the stem (like the galaxy buds 4 pro) it is very simple to execute commands this way and near flawlessly. I rarely find myself mistakenly tapping it, or having my hair brush against it, causing the controls to activate it (oddly enough, my hair would get caught between the stem of the Galaxy Buds 4 pros and sometimes it increased the volume of the music I am listening to. Luckily because I have the music loudness controls set not to go above safe limits it didn't hurt my ears too much, but still annoying all the same). Overall fit and design - keeping in mind I came from Jabras, in this regard, I am impressed at how well these fit in my ears straight out the box, and surprised at how light they are when compared to the Jabras. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 pros are definitely lighter, but the weight of the Liberty 5 pros are good just the way they are. I honestly don't think I'd care if their next iteration in this line was advertised as being lighter weight. I don't experience fatigue or pain/discomfort at all. Now for the case itself. While some people find touch screen cases to be gimmicky, and they can be (like many have said about the JBL's), this one is a win in my book. I love how the case will not allow for accidental presses, because you need to swipe up to unlock it first. Remember those presets I was talking about earlier, and how different songs can require different EQ settings? It is here that I don't have to pull out my phone everytime just to go into the app to do this. The only critique I have here is that there is only one spot for your custom sound profile, so if you are like me and have 4 different ones, then it will select one for you (and in my case, its the 2nd one of the 4 that it is selecting, and I am unsure how to get it to choose a different custom EQ profile). Switching back and forth or re-tapping the custom button from the case doesn't cycle through your different custom EQ profiles either, because I tried. Anyway, you can also cycle between ANC, transparency modes and easy chat, etc. The touchscreen also has an easy "Bluetooth Pairing" mode too, so if you have multiple devices you want to connect to, its also super easy and takes the guesswork out of various ways my other devices have had to be pushed, tapped or whatnot, just to put them into pairing mode. While I haven't tried it, there seems to be a remote camera button too, which, if you are like me and came from earlier Samsung phones, where their S pen had a button that could be used to take the picture remotely, you will definitely love this feature! I don't take as many pics now as I used to, but if I still did, I could easily see myself using this alot. ANC is another strong point for these buds. Again, comparing them against my Galaxy buds 4 pros and Jabra 75t Active Elites, the Soundcore Liberty 5 pro has amazing noise cancellation quality. Samsung's is honestly disappointing - even with the ANC setting turned to the max I can still hear people speaking through them. With the Soundcore's, people have to be shouting or talking very loudly to get my attention and even then the sound I hear is so subtle. Transparency mode is only slightly jarring, because of how well the mic picks up sound - including your own voice when talking - but after a few days I think I have gotten used to it. Now after listing the majority of pros Soundcore has, here is my biggest letdown, specifically with the touchscreen case: I ultimately bought the 5 pros instead of the 5 pro max because AI notetaking wasn't as important to me, however, I did learn that with the smaller touchscreen on the 5 pros you cannot change songs or pause/play from the touchscreen case (I believe you can do this on the 5 pro max touchscreen case, but I would double-check with them if that feature is important to you). Price is the next thing I want to discuss. The price for the Anker Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro (not speaking about their pro max) is very reasonable, considering how much enjoyment I get again from listening to my music, and how feature-loaded these earbuds are. I know some people complained about the price because in adding the call-quality feature, it did significantly raise the price of Anker's pro line overall. Honestly though, I don't find it egregious for what they are charging - its more than fair. You can't expect great quality for nothing. Name brand earbuds still cost more and don't even offer as many things, or worse, they don't live up to the hype or the claims they themselves make. Not to mention, major brands like Apple and Samsung will lock you into their ecosystem. Galaxy buds 4 pro uses a Samsung specific codec that doesn't work as well with IPhone (and cannot make use of Spotify's lossless audio either bevause of incompatible codec), and Apple's airpods, while for Iphone users, honestly is not for bassheads anyway. Its truly hard to get this quality and this much freedom at this pricepoint. Anker is beating everybody on this front period. As for what I read about Anker's Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max on the other hand, its a toss up for me. At that price point when taking into consideration you still need a subscription for full use of the AI note-taking function, I think it provides diminishing returns, dollar-for-dollar. But my biggest gripe is that they don't offer as many fun colors for their 5 pro max as they do for their standard 5 pro. I know its petty, but I likely would've caved and bought the 5 pro max straight away if it came in pink or blue (lavender would also be a nice color option). Perhaps their next release will feature more colors for both pro and pro max models. Anker's Soundcore earbuds somehow never was on my radar before, but upon more thoroughly researching (esp after my disappointing experience with pre-ordering the Galaxy buds 4 pros), I really wish I had waited a bit longer for these to come out. Back then I was looking for a solid replacement for my Jabras since one side was no longer working, and supposedly, during pre-order for the Galaxy buds 4 pros, they were rumored to excel in every benchmark across major name brands too, and supposedly on paper it made sense why people expected it would out-perform even my Jabras...well, all I can say is, not if you're a bass head apparently. Lesson learned, don't pre-order, wait for hype to die down and see what others have to say. And at the end of the day its important to remember that 'sound quality' is subjective. Try to find others who have similar taste in audio profile preference, EQ tuning and people who listen to the same genres and songs you do. TL;DR I give this a 4.7 out of 5 stars because for bass lovers like myself that really just wanted comfortable earbuds for long bass-heavy-music listening sessions that didn't have the stem design, this blows everything else away that is currently available in the earbud market. The 0.3 stats I withheld is because it would've been nice if their touchscreen on the 5 pro case had start/stop music controls. Lastly, the photos included were both with and without flash, trying to capture the most closest true color of the rose gold option these come in.

For years, Anker’s Soundcore brand has operated as the undisputed disruptor of the personal audio world. While legacy audio giants rely on brand heritage to justify premium price tags, Soundcore has spent nearly a decade perfecting a completely different formula: delivering top-tier, feature-rich hardware at a fraction of the cost. They’ve consistently proven that high-end active noise cancellation, customizable EQ, and pristine sound shouldn't be gated behind a $300+ paywall. Now, with the release of the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro, the brand isn't just trying to provide the best value on the market anymore—they are actively aiming for the crown. I bought the Liberty 5 Pro mainly because I was intrigued by the Guinness World Record it and its sibling, the Liberty 5 Pro Max, hold for microphone quality in loud environments. I didn’t even know this record existed, but these actually won the accolade for "World’s Clearest Call Quality in an Earbud." I would see this achievement paraded everywhere on social media and kept thinking, that’s cool, but the ANC, transparency, and sound quality probably won’t be good enough for my strict standards, especially since I have experienced so many premium and luxury true wireless earphones. Fast forward to today, and color me impressed. I really love the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro. Let me break down why… Starting with the sound quality: out of the box, I would describe the tuning as V-shaped and hyped. This is clearly a sound profile that the masses will enjoy. According to the MDAQS (Multi-Dimensional Audio Quality Score) system developed by HEAD acoustics—a sophisticated, AI-driven audio testing tool used to scientifically predict how human beings perceive sound quality—the Liberty 5 Pro scored an impressive 4.9 out of 5. For context, earbuds like the Technics AZ100, which are widely regarded as being among the best-sounding models you can buy, scored a 4.3. While that is still good, I personally find the Liberty 5 Pro superior. The AirPods Pro 3 scored a 4.5, and I am adding those because they are easily the most popular premium wireless headphones on the market right now. Now, the MDAQS score isn’t the end-all-be-all, but it gives an interesting data point on what average listeners prefer. Personally, I don’t really like the out-of-the-box sound signature of the Liberty 5 Pro. The bass is way too elevated. Its power and extension lean heavily into the mid- and sub-bass regions, which thankfully helps reduce how much it muddies up the midrange. It’s a very Harman-like tuning, but cranked to 11. The low end calls a lot of attention to itself, taking on a mind of its own with excessive rumble and a lingering decay. On some songs—particularly EDM or Hip-Hop—it sounds incredibly fun and energetic. I can perfectly see why the average listener would rate these highly, since most mainstream audiences listen to Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, and EDM. But genres more focused on acoustical instruments like Jazz or Classical or Rock, the bass is just too excessive. The midrange is a bit too lean for my taste, mainly due to the V-shaped nature of the default tuning. Vocals and instruments come across as slightly hollow and distant. I don’t detect much sibilance in vocals, but I do notice a significant amount of forwardness in the ear-gain region around 3–5kHz. This makes the presentation sound intense, but also harsh, resulting in a bit of a shouty characteristic. There are good levels of clarity due to the boosted lower treble, but the overall delivery just feels off in terms of natural timbre to my ears. The treble is boosted, as stated before. This brings plenty of energy to the presentation and helps counterbalance the excessive bass. However, it can also make things sound a bit splashy or sizzly. On the bright side, the treble is smooth; there are no wild dips or peaks that make it sound like sandpaper, but the overall volume is elevated over the midrange, contributing to that lean sound signature. Soundstage and imaging are great, but they aren't as intelligible as I’d like due to the stock tuning. Reading this, you’re probably wondering how I could possibly love these earphones. Well, that’s because of an awesome tool called EQ. Soundcore provides a healthy amount of ways to adjust the audio to your liking. This flexibility is exactly what made me pivot from starting an Amazon refund request to making these my new daily drivers. I’ve included a picture of the EQ settings I eventually settled on. With these adjustments, the bass becomes incredibly powerful, well-extended, and balanced to my ears—full of texture and just the right amount of decay without sounding sluggish. The midrange is now warmer and more natural, stripping away the harsh, intense characteristics caused by the overly boosted ear-gain region. The treble sounds clear and crisp without overwhelming the midrange. I also boosted the upper treble a bit more since I found it rolled off prematurely, which closed in the soundstage. The treble boost I heard out of the box was mainly localized around the upper-mids and lower-treble region. Moving over to comfort and fit, the Liberty 5 Pro earphones are eerily similar to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds and Ultra models. They are so similar, in fact, that they share the same driver nozzle design and can use the same oval umbrella ear tips. I ended up putting the ear tips from my Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen onto the Liberty 5 Pro because the base of the Bose tip is rigid and does not rotate once clicked onto the nozzle. The stock ear tips provided by Soundcore feel cheaper; and because their base is made of soft silicone, they easily twist out of alignment while you are inserting the earphones, which negatively affects ANC effectiveness and channel balance perception. I’ve always fancied the umbrella-style oval ear tips Bose uses because they are comfortable and lock securely into my ears. Whether I am eating, laughing, talking, or running, they never budge. The active noise canceling on these is excellent. Out of the box with the stock tips, the isolation fluctuated between excellent and mediocre. It wasn't until I switched to the Bose ear tips that the ANC became consistently top-tier. I would easily put these on par with Bose, Sony, and Apple in terms of raw ANC power. There is also no perceptible hiss while ANC is engaged, providing that "dead silent" feeling which can sometimes feel nauseating to those unaccustomed to the sensation. Well done, Soundcore! Transparency mode is great, but it doesn't quite reach the level of the AirPods Pro 3, mainly due to a higher level of perceivable hiss and a slightly recessed reproduction of high frequencies, which slightly dulls ambient sound compared to reality. However, I can hold a conversation easily. Thanks to "Easy Chat"—which is similar to the Speak-to-Chat feature Sony pioneered—I can simply start talking, and the Liberty 5 Pro will automatically lower my media volume and enable transparency mode. One quirk I noticed is that Easy Chat only triggers when you are already in ANC mode. I am used to this feature working regardless of your current ambient state, like on Apple or Sony earphones. Controls are great, featuring full customizability for single, double, or triple presses on either earbud. You can also configure what happens during a tap-and-hold gesture, and there are smooth swipe gestures for volume control. The only thing missing is the ability to mute the microphone while on a call unless you do it from the device itself. Furthermore, an on-device AI allows you to speak various preset commands to control your media with insanely fast latency. I don’t personally use the voice commands because the app states it drains the battery quickly. For my usage, the battery lasts around 6 to 7 hours depending on the volume, typically streaming over AAC with ANC turned on. The feature set on the Liberty 5 Pro is extensive—you could literally get lost in the companion app. I really enjoy the built-in ambient sounds, like sleep stories or meditation tracks, which are great if you want to relax or sleep with them in. You also have the ability to connect to three devices simultaneously. In practice, this multi-point connection worked flawlessly with no random dropouts across my MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone Pro Max. The smart case is another cool addition; it has a small screen lets you control basic settings like ANC/transparency modes, EQ profiles, Dolby Atmos (which I found to be just okay), Easy Chat, a remote camera shutter, a "Find My Earbuds" tracker, and Bluetooth pairing. Last but not least is the call quality. Wow, these are fantastic. I can be standing on a subway platform with a train coming barreling into the station, and the caller on the other end won’t even know a train is flying past me. They are seriously impressive at isolating your voice from background chaos. Plus, you don’t have to yell—you can whisper or speak at a completely normal volume and you will still sound loud and clear. Seriously incredible work here, Soundcore. Overall, these earbuds have the fewest compromises of any premium truly wireless earphone I have tried. The sound out of the box isn't to my personal liking, but the robust EQ tools let me tailor the profile to be significantly more enjoyable. They are supremely comfortable and fit perfectly thanks to sharing Bose's ear tip geometry. The ANC is top-notch, blocking out the world alongside the industry's best performers. Controls are solid, transparency is highly usable, and the features are incredibly extensive. The battery easily lasts through the workday, backed by a quick-charge feature that adds up to 4 hours of playback from a mere 5-minute charge. Finally, the class-leading call quality means I never have to worry about being heard, regardless of how busy my environment is. Color me impressed!

I really do like these earbuds, but they do need some adjustments with the EQ when taking them out of the box. The stock EQ had any music I play sound "tinny", like a set of really cheap earbuds. Previously I didn't have this issue with Soundcore as the Hear ID test was enough, but after trying Hear ID with this the results were still not great. You'll definitely need to tweak and adjust the EQ manually to get what you want. I've been using the EQ from earbud reviewer El Jefe on YouTube as my EQ for these buds) Sadly it seems the Hear ID feature isn't as reliable anymore. One unfortunate issue I have is these aren't very loud, but yes they can produce volume loud enough to certainly harm your hearing, and there are other buds out there that are much louder. My other buds like the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are significantly louder, worse yet is Soundcore's own Liberty 5 from last year are louder as well. I even purchased a 2nd set of the 5 Pros just to make sure these weren't defective. (My first set were defective but that was due to muddy audio) This has been a common issue I've seen in various reviews; but I only see this as an issue if you play your music insanely loud. On a more positive note, the ANC and transparency modes are pretty good. The only other buds I can compare these to is the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, and while the ANC isn't quite as good as those, the transparency is much better. (The transparency mode on the Buds 4 Pros were very subdued and quiet, even with it cranked as high as it'll go, not the case here with the Liberty 5 Pro) I personally don't need amazing ANC where it's to the point of sensory deprivation, but these were plenty enough to act as ear plugs when I was at a convention helping with karaoke and having a speaker half my size blasting as loud as it could just 5 feet away. (And still could hear any music I personally wanted to listen lol) Regarding the fit, I will say these may be the most secure fitting earbuds you can probably get. With wing tips and plenty of options for 3rd party eartips (I personally use Spinfit's Omni eartips), so you'll find something that'll work. I've been out on walks, jogs, at the gym, and when using an earbud pillow, these do not fall out. Seriously impressive. Probably the best feature of these earbuds are the microphones, they're among the best you can get outside of Apple or Samsung. I've been on numerous discord calls and regular phone calls and my voice is very clear. (Even when I've had a fan blowing directly in my face, which is amazing) However the mics do drain the battery quite a bit when in long calls. (A 2 1/2 hour discord call drained the buds to 38%) This can be an issue for some, but these do charge rather quickly. A 20 minute charge in the charging case topped them off at 100% easily. Speaking of the charging case, the little screen it comes with is rather handy. While I don't have the Max model, the screen is rather useful when seeing what the battery life is, or when swapping to another device thanks to the triple multipoint it has. (Legitimately useful if you have a work and personal phone with a laptop with you) It's quite handy to just pull out the case and see the battery life for the case and the buds right there. If I had any grievances, my only issues is the lack of a gaming mode, the battery life when on phones calls, and that Hear ID isn't as reliable when compared to past Soundcore earbuds. (Again, do explore and play with the EQ to get much better sound, almost thought my buds were defective with how bad the stock EQ is) Otherwise these may be the best earbuds that aren't from companies like Sony, Bose, Apple or Samsung. While those will have better sound quality and ANC, the fact that the Liberty 5 Pro are within the same ballpark for a much cheaper price (Provided you aren't getting the Max model which is overkill in my opinion) is remarkable. Especially as these have triple multipoint, making them great for business if you have a work and personal phone with a laptop. I'm hoping Soundcore will patch in a gaming mode at some point, but for most people these will be more than enough. I'd say they're among the most practical earbuds you can get.
