I give this five stars in consideration for the price. However, do not mistake this for an excellent product itself. This is, by no means, an incredible speaker. For only ten bucks, it is a fantastic bargain, but don't expect sound quality like Beats or Bose. At least in my master bathroom, it has a muffled sound, especially when the shower is on. And it's really not THAT loud. I find it to only slightly enhance the original volume of music from my iPhone at its loudest. And I find the buttons troublesome. They confuse me. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, but I honestly am not sure if this is just because I don't understand how to use them (I thought I did after reading the instructions, but they haven't worked well for me, so either I misunderstood or they just don't work well) or they malfunction. I write this review mainly to express cons, so as to help provide a more detailed picture of what new customers would be getting from this purchase: I personally find it annoying how the on/off power of the speaker is laid out. When you turn it on/off, a red light flashes on the button and you hear a distinctive sound to signal either on/off. However, this only lasts for a few seconds, so after say a minute, you have no way of telling if the speaker is actually on/off. I also have to complain about the suction cup. I have settled for just laying the speaker down on the shower seat or just outside the shower (maybe on a sink counter or on the edge of the bath-tub), as the suction easily pops and the speaker falls to the ground after ten-twenty minutes. I say this solely based on my own experience in my personal bathroom. But I would estimate that this is the same for anyone else, unless you have some magical shower wall surface. So this certainly wouldn't be able to hold onto the shower wall for days on end. You'd have to place it on the wall before each shower and then take it off when you are finished, before it clatters to the ground by itself. This strategy worked well enough for me, except I found this incessantly repetitive process to be terribly annoying. But, once again, considering the very cheap price of this sticker, this is absolutely fantastic! The sound quality, while slightly muffled, is pretty fantastic. There are no weird static-y noises that most speakers at this price would have. And the blue color is gorgeous! I love it! So, in the "competitive" pool of ten-dollar speakers, this SoundBot is a sure win! I forgot to mention, the battery life isn't very long. I have to recharge it every few days, even though I only use it for my daily morning routine (I'd estimate this lasts about twenty-thirty minutes each day). And the charger that comes with it only includes the chord, not the plug. You have to get a plug yourself. I just use the one that came with my personal iPad charger, since the cable end is of the USB-format. (I'm not very technical in terms) This is kind of annoying, but it works for me. Just a heads up, though, for all you potential buyers. All in all, if you're looking for a bargain deal, I'd definitely recommend! It does the job! If you're looking for a great sound quality, I'm sorry to say that this speaker isn't for you. You most likely won't be satisfied.

**Edit: all good things must come to an end. After 4 years the suction gave out one too many times and it ended up submerged in water for about 20 seconds. Hasn’t worked since. Best believe I’m buying another! Amazing life for the price!** This has been BY FAR one of the best products I’ve purchased on Amazon. I’ve had it for almost 4 years now and recommend it to everyone. I use it every morning while in the shower and getting ready, and I don’t even think I have to charge it even once/month- the battery lasts so long! I’ve never had connectivity issues. I could even be downstairs and my phone will still be connected to this speaker upstairs. Sometimes I’ll wish a podcast were a little louder while in shower, but 98% of the time I have no volume complaints. I have used it to answer phone calls a handful of times but don’t use this feature regularly. The times I’ve answered while in the shower the other person has said it’s hard to hear me... which should be expected though. Can’t expect to have a normal convo with no background noise while you are in the shower. Lol. Anyway... I love this. Was just writing a review for a recent purchase and chose to go down memory lane with some old faves and leave one 4 years in the making. :) BUY THIS!!

Works great the way it’s supposed to. Attractive color. Held up for quite some time before it needed charging. I am not a music connoisseur, and this was to play in the shower so the sound quality may not be exquisite, but it’s good enough.

Surprisingly good! I procrastinated for quite a while purchasing a bathroom bluetooth speaker because no single product seemed to stand out as the best option. All I was really looking for was as bluetooth speaker that would be safe to use in the bathroom so I could listen to music and news in the morning without risk of water damage to my phone. And a couple months of window shopping I finally "settled" on this product due to the generally positive reviews and nice price point. After 2 months of use with it I can say I am very pleased with the purchase! I attached the speaker high on my shower wall so it never gets direct contact with water. Pros: Sound: Volume is plenty adequate to hear over the shower and the sound quality quite acceptable and almost good(for shower listening standards). Connectivity: Its always connected every morning when I turn it on without issue. Range seems to be adequate. In my house it has worked perfected through 2 walls and ~15' away. The connection gets a bit spotty when going through 3 walls and 20'+ away. But overall seems adequate for its purpose. Battery life: Seems to be consistent with the 6 hours reported by the manufacturer. My phone always displays the battery level in the bluetooth status so I know when I need to pull it off the wall to recharge it. I cannot comment on its utility as a speakerphone as I've never used it for that purpose. Cons: I wish it supported Siri! The only thing that would make this product any better would be if I could use it to give Siri voice commands to change apps. Part of me wants to dock this product 1 star for this, but at price I still think it deserves 5 stars because I'd happily purchase it again.

It only lasts about 4-6 hours of playtime before having to recharge. Sometimes I forget to bring it back into the bathroom after I charge it, don't even use it for a week after it's charged, and I'll have to recharge it again just from letting it sit with no use. The sound quality on the Soundbot isn't bad. Wish it could be a little louder at times (and yes I do know how to control the volume on the speaker with the fast forward/rewind buttons). The call quality is terrible, usually people can't hear me saying I'll call them back in a minute, even if I turn off the shower. Once, and only once so far (I hope), I was streaming music from my phone, and the Soundbot all of sudden let out a very loud continuous high pitch squeal. I turned off the bluetooth on my phone, and it still didn't stop. I couldn't get it to power off, so I tried to take it apart and disconnect the battery. Guess what? Everything was soldered in place. I had to bury it under some stuff in a far room to muffle it till the battery died. I haven't really tried using it since then in case that happens again. The battery life seems to be getting shorter over time. The strength of the suction cup also seems to be weakening (dry or wet). I'm starting to find the thing on the floor more and more these days. Overall I was pleased with it until that big hiccup and the need to constantly recharge it as well as reattach it to the wall. EDIT 6/16/15 -- After having to send 2 emails to Volcus customer support before finally getting a reply, they offered me a 25% discount for a unit that is defective but under warranty. If that's what their "warranty" is, it's a joke. Very displeased at how this is being handled. It would probably cost them about the same or a little more to send me a new working unit. That is a moot point though, as my unit is still under warranty and should be covered for defects regardless. 25% refund for selling me a defective product is an insult!
