Is it worth it? Short answer is yes. Here's my take, my stand and where I come from. Most will not fully appreciate the technology this has, and what it is fully capable of. The family and I are pro-sumers. We don't gig (could now!), but we entertain by the pool area. We have three audio sources that we like to play out there. A TV to watch outdoor events, Alexa and our extremely old but extensive MP3 music library on laptop. The SKAA audio technology on board this speaker is next level. Bluetooth, as convenient and familiar as it is, is just the tip of the iceberg for wireless connectivity and flexibility. I purchased wireless SKAA transmitters from their website. They will wirelessly connect any audio source to this speaker, and switch any or all between sources easily and effortlessly. I suggest their channel on YT for many helpful hints, tricks and cool setups you can achieve. With the Pro Panel on the back, you can basically hook up anything ever made for the audio industry to the speaker. The latency of SKAA wireless transmission is pro level. That just means (for us) if we choose to play a movie thru the wireless speakers, the spoken words and mouth are aligned. It means pro entertainers can play live wirelessly, with no perception in delay (we're taking our game on the road!). Reviews state she lacks bass? Maybe, but are they setting it up correctly? The stage eq setting sends full wattage to the drivers. Where this speaker shines solo, by itself is elevated on a stand, 50 feet away. It's kind of what it was designed for. Throwing sound to far away locations in a cone of auditory assault. It's directional, and sounds awesome farther away. With that being said, pair this animal with another beast, the DFB from Dillinger Labs. I highly recommend to look them up. Those guys in Nashville get it. Mount this on a 35mm pole on the DFB sub, set the EQ to the Soundboks profile and be prepared. Put two SB4's over two DFB's in stereo for the ultimate setup. Invite the local law enforcement before going above volume 5, as they will show up anyway..... Now it is pricey, but it's pro level gear. You can use the SB4 as a chair. Go to their website for a free gift of +$150 (battery or backpack which Amazon honors here). Give SB an e-mail for 10% off your 1st purchase (-$100 at least). Open an Amazon card account for another $100 off. Now you get more for way less, and way worth it. Did I mention all these battery operated, self contained pieces are weatherproof. Great near the pool, or anywhere outside. Love the video of the SB4 with water bouncing in the cones! The speaker sounds better with the grill off. The grill weighs 5 lbs. If they can be protected, try it without the grill. Made to be used outdoor in any weather, and still blast away just fine. I am getting plenty of battery life at normal volume. I charged it before I used it 40 hours. Most everything is an upside. The more I use it, the more I love it, and what it can do. Brought it inside and hooked it to the Samsung TV. Even thru Bluetooth, the movie we streamed was synchronized. It's way loud if you want. We never go above volume 3 inside. 5-7 outside is more than plenty. Haven't tried 11. I need more transmitters. Only two downsides to the SB4. The weight (35.5 lbs) and the price. If you can swing them both, think about getting a 2nd one somewhere down the road.

Obnoxiously loud. I use this for my daughter’s youth softball games- warm up music, player intros, and walk-up songs. It’s about 2x as loud as I need it for that purpose. I play it at home, too, and rarely use full volume - around the pool, around the farm (four acres). Zero issue with the battery or battery life - have not had an occasion which ran the battery dead and have run it for hours in a single charge. It’s expensive, it’s bulky, but it’s loud and produces high quality sound. Seems durable and well-made. The Bluetooth connection is simple. Soundbox App connection (best quality) can be a little tricky at first.

Great sound quality and clarity. Plenty loud for a large party or to hear over fans and blowers while washing show animals. Even used it as a PA system for parades. We have a Turtlebox Grande as well. The Turtlebox is certainly more portable and sounds good but can’t compete with the Soundbox. Battery last for days with no issue.

This speaker is insane! The sound quality is incredible, you can hear every detail of the instruments, and the base is so powerful that you can feel it from far away. There is also alot of cool features that come with it, like An app to change around the quality, and you can sync a few speakers together, and you can even plug in a keyboard directly into it and use it like a regular plug in speaker, so it has the advantages of a plug in and a wireless Bluetooth one! Also the battery can be taken out, so you can have a replacement battery fully charged and just switch out batteries really quickly. And you can charge it and use it at the same time. The problem is that it's really big and heavy, so it's kinda hard to carry around unless you get a backpack attachment to carry it like a backpack. The build of the speaker is pretty sick as it's a really hard and durable outside, and there are these rubber balls on all 4 corners of the speaker that protect it if it falls. So it's a really solid speaker! The reason I am giving only 4 stars is because 3 days after I got it, the whole speaker started glitching on me, turning on and off and then it just shut off and wouldn't turn on, I tried all the tricks and at one point I got fed up and started hitting it in different areas and it turned back on, but 2 days later as I was in middle of a party it shut off again and no amount of hitting it helped, so I returned it. But otherwise, it's an amazing speaker!!!

Okay, so a little bit to know, I first had an ION karaoke machine with a 15 inch woofer that cost $300 and lasted almost 2 years till the speaker busted, LOL! It actually was a pretty decent sounding speaker. I decided to try something different and I wanted something louder with a wider frequency response. I tried the S1 Pro Bose first. It didn't come close to what I expected. Next, I purchased the JBL Party box 1000. It was pretty good but just did not fulfill my expectations. Now, on to the SoundBoks Generation 4. It plays loud with great sound and does the same at low volume. It's the BEST out there! Love It! Worth every dollar! Just get it, lol! If you have any questions, please ask, as I will get back to you very soon. I have ordered my second one from their own website and I'm looking forward to paring them. I also will be connecting a Yamaha MG06X mixer so that I can adjust the gain and echo better for our fun singing karaoke, lol! One more important thing, if you want everything this Soundboks Gen 4 can do, please download the app. You will be very pleased! If you want help with the equalizer settings to get everything that this speaker can do, just ask, as I'm happy to help! Just get it! :)

I like music all the time. TV is a waste of time. The volume is fine . I've only turned them up just over half way. Not real pleased with the quality of sound.
