I've used these reels for a few years for crappie fishing. They are smooth casting and good quality. The only issue I have with them is the screw that holds the handle, after a while, comes loose. I have a few of those as they have fallen off and into the water. I'd like to buy a replacement screw but cannot find them, so I get one from the hardware store. Still a great reel. ... show more

For $20, it's a winner. It's smooth enough and has held up to several saltwater fishing trips. More expensive reels have more bearings and better components, but it looks good and is very functional.

I almost gave it 4 stars because in my book a 5 star is ultamite... reason for 3 star... well first it came right on time ... pkg was a little beat up and the plastic little cover on back of real feet was never put on they just threw it in the box... i can live with it...if it been 60 dollar reel id of raised cain about it....the reel is pretty nice only thing i dont like thus far is that bail rolls back when ya go to set hook... i HATE THAT... i wont own a icefishing reel that does it..ill throw in trash for that reason.... im using this to jig walleye ... so...for a extra rod i can probably live with it so i guess ill keep it....however id not buy another for that reason.. I know theres been millions of fish caught on reels that roll back but ...i dont like it...you can miss fish from that....for the everyday guy ... for the price...thus far it seems to be darn nice other then the roll back... ... show more
