So far i have not found many issues with the reel. By that i mean it works, has a nice feel to it solid drag and the smaller 10lbs under fish that are in my area. Retrieval is very smooth, no hiccups and the drag works as expected, although i don't use mine very often. Looks allot more expensive for what it offers and does not disappoint on that regard.

This spin cast is a great basic reel, perfect for a back up or just getting into fishing. Smooth action while reeling and drag works well. Was easy to spool up with line. This isn’t top of the line gear, but better than cheap reel from big box store. Would get another again!

Smooth reel. I’d put this on par with anything in its price range and it’s definitely better than the stock reel that come on the Ugly stick combos. Don’t have any issues or complaints. I typically run cheaper reels because I do a lot of kayaking and don’t want to risk loosing a high end reel if I flip. Would highly recommend, really happy with it.

I'm new to fishing and figuring out how reels operate and how to use them correctly. From my experience with this reel so far, I can tell it's high quality, it's strong, well-made, and durable. It spins smoothly and it works properly. I have had issues with it, but my issues are because I wasn't using it correctly. It didn't come with instructions that I saw, so unless you know what you're doing, things will go wrong. It's a great reel in my opinion. When you add your line to it, the spool has a sticker you need to remove which reveals a sticky surface to help hold the line in place. Removing the sticker was a bit tricky, but it's a nice feature designed to help make adding line to it easier.

Decent little reel for the 1000 size I ordered for ultralight fishing. Weight is 7.4 oz and retrieve ratio at 5.0:1 calculates to about 20" per turn (near the 1-5/16" outer edge of line-filled reel). The frame appears to be a cast aluminum, the spool and crank are aluminum and the handle is a minimally spongy EVA (a flexible copolymer). The cranking action feels very smooth with its 11 + 1 bearings and no give or slop in the various moving parts. I easily converted mine to right-hand retrieve. The spool holds about 200 meters of 0.18mm line equivalent to 218 yards of 4# mono, fluorocarbon, or copolymer or 1 of the new high-tech 10# braids. My only complaints: On the spool where the line wraps is a very securely stuck label and in super tiny print (maybe 1/50" tall) says "please remove this label before filling with line". After finally picking at the edge to start, the label came off in pieces leaving a mess of sticky adhesive. I doubt the adhesive is left on purpose because beneath that the spool is lightly ribbed I assume to grip with braided line. Also in very small print (about 1/32" tall) on the spool is the line capacity statement. At $19 a pretty good value, but due to the spool problems I am reducing 1 star.
