This is not my first Sougayilang reel and definitely won't be my last. Again, they have made a great reel for a fraction of the cost of others in the 6000 size, although this one seems a bit smaller compared to some of my others. The large aluminum spool still holds more than enough of the 40lb mono I am trying and the action is quiet and drag is smooth. I really do love the new designed rear adjustable drag knob that compliments the front spool one that is also there. It makes adjustments while reeling less complicated with a much easier position. It casts easy, and actually closes the bail on retrieval, which is something many of my 6000 or larger reels don't do. I hardly noticed because I still manually flip my bail after casting regardless of the reel. Just a muscle memory that saves time and wear and tear on the internal mechanisms. It is a good looker, with a bottom positioned forward lock and reverse flip switch, and a new 2nd switch that can be operated from the back of the reel that seems like a line release but automatically locks again upon reeling. I like this function. It took a bit for me to start messing with it, but I found it easy and helpful. The only reason I give this reel 4 and not 5 stars is the crank handle. It is just too small. Is is foldable, thats always good, but it is just way too small. Even the knob is tiny compared to a few 3000 reels I use regularly. It makes it feel a bit awkward in my big hands and almost makes you feel like the reel is out of balance. It is still a great reel for the price, but I am definitely planning on changing it out with a much larger, proper sized handle before I use it next time. Otherwise, it is a good addition to my set of catfish rigs I keep ready when I find them. Happy fishing

Got it as a spare and really like it. I took it out on he last couple outings of the season and it held up just fine. For the price, it's a nice little reel. You shouldn't expect it to compete with a $100+ reel, but for the average fisherman this thing is likely just fine. I have 3 or 4 of these no-name reels and they can be hit or miss, but I like this little guy. Specs are about average, but in use it feels quite smooth and easy to operate. The biggest thing I noticed is that I didn't notice using the reel, which means I wasn't messing with it and I could just fish. There's nothing worse then spending a bunch of time with a reel that misbehaves, but this one worked nice. Being perfectly forgettable is a good thing in this case. I want to remember the fish and not the equipment. Most likely you'll have a better reel for daily use, but as a spare or guest rod & reel combo, this thing works well.
