Short Term Review - About 12 Hours on Reel I picked the 1000 size up after some research when I needed to replace a really old reel on my Ultralight that was having issues. Spooled up with 4lb mono and has been a blast catching every species of panfish and smaller bass on this thing. Note the handle/ball is a lil large, I have pretty large hands so it's actually nice, though if I was nit pickin I wish it was about 10% smaller. Originally on a Shimano that broke (truck door accident), was impressed with their reel, I bought one of the Sougayilang Ultralight rods, awesome $50 setup lightweight combo. Side note...if you've never tried ultralight fishing...do it :) ... show more

It’s great, fit and finish aren’t amazing but better then expected really smooth if I you have a pole your looking for something cheap to through on you will probably make it your new go too setup like I did

I bought this reel to see how good or terrible a $25 reel would actually be, and I was surprised at the quality of this reel. I also bought a 4000 size of the same brand reel to compare. This company has really stepped up their game. I haven't been able to catch anything on it yet, but it casts smoothly, reels smoothly, and has strong drag. It's honestly one of my favorite spinning reels at the moment. I'll be using it for freshwater river fish (smallmouth, largemouth, walleye, pike, drum, etc). ... show more
