So far I'm really happy with these reels. I bought them to use on spider rigging rods but they're so smooth I use them for casting too. Cheap reels will twist the line while constantly casting and retrieving, these don't. The drag system is smooth and consistent. I'd compare them to $80 name brand reels. I used them last year and they seem to be holding up well.

I did not expect much at this price but Iโm very impressed. Super smooth reel. Bail closes sharply. The only thing that is par with the price is the drag. It is evident that it has a cheaper design as soon as you hook up. That said, it didnโt fail and I am not replacing itโฆ. Yet. Definitely worth more than the money paid.

I bought this real because it had a good rating and I know others that have used them. Unfortunately, today was the first time Iโve tried or fished with it. I could hear the bearings grinding itโs just poorly made real.

I got this reel when it was on sale for 19.99. It was close to the end of the season but I got a few days of heavy use out of it catching smallmouth. Lots of casting and winding. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this reel. This reel is smoother winding and the bail operates better than my Shimano Sedona, which has now been replaced. If you're having trouble deciding, I don't think you can go wrong with this reel.

TLDR: I love mine, caught a ton of fish, and ordered a second one. I honestly can't say enough good things about this reel, specifically the 1000 model on a 5' ultra light. My previous reel broke so I replaced it with this and it is light years better. The action is super smooth, the drag is great, and it handled some 15" trout with the greatest of ease. With this setup I can throw a 1/32oz power bait about 20ft out with the flick of a wrist. Two days after I put the reel on a friend and I hit the motherload. A local pond had just been stocked with rainbow trout that morning and we had the entire dock to ourselves the whole day! They were literally swimming around in schools! In the following 3 days I caught at least 125 of them putting in 8 hour days and this reel made it feel easy even on such a small setup. By about day 5 the trout learned and were real tough to catch but fortunately I was tipped off on a perch haven and spent the next two days pulling them in as fast as I could put a line out for two days straight. Well over 100 fish again, my thumb and pointed finger are literally bruised from pulling the same jig head out of so many mouths. Until recently fishing has been real slow and ironically since I've had this reel I've had incredible luck and somehow pulled in hundreds of great fish in a very short amount of time wildly beyond any expectation. My second reel will be here tomorrow for a second 5' setup so I can have one tied on and another with a snap swivel. I'll also likely buy the 4000 or 5000 to replace my current heavier braided setup too.

This is a really nice reel. It feels smooth, has a relatively smooth drag, and it looks and feels very well made. And despite all this, the cost was quite low. I've spent far more on reels, but I don't know that I've ever received this kind of value for the money spent. I bought the XY1000 reel. I paired it with a 6' 6" ultralight rod, intending to use it for crappies. It works great for that and balances well. As you can see in the picture, an occasional bass joins the party! And the reel's drag was up to the challenge for bigger fish like this on 4 lb line. The size of the reel is good for this application... I like to "feather" the line with my index finger during the cast, and this reel's size makes that convenient. As a side note, I REALLY like the hexagon cutout pattern on the side of the spool. I want my reels to function great and care less about the looks, but it's fun to have one that works great and looks cool, too. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. For the ratings below... Light weight: It balances well on my rod so the weight is good for me. Value is off the charts and I'd give that 6 stars if I could. Durability: So far so good. I've caught many fish on this reel over ~3 months and it's been perfect so far.
