    • Must have, so stinkin cute!
OMGosh, this is the cutest little light I have ever seen. I was looking for a small USB light that I could plug into my laptop at night when I'm laying in bed. I don't leave the light on because my hubby goes to sleep before I do on most nights. So after everyone is down I relax and do some work . but the issue is without a light I can barely see the keyboard letters so I'm always straining my eyes. Hubby is not bothered by light but i feel bad when he is sleeping and a light is on. So I looked at tons of them on amazon and found some I wanted to try but then I seen this astronaut light. I was instantly sold. I was so excited to get it and couldn't wait till bedtime to see if it was actually bright enough for what I needed. Heck yes it was. It lit the keyboard up completely. I see everything perfect. My hubby thought it was pretty cool but laughed cause I was like a little kid. Anyways, once u plug it in you flip his helmet to make the light come on. To turn off you shut it. The base it sits on it sturdy and flexible to move it how u need. When I am done using it at night I plug it into a USB wall plug and put it in our master bath. It lights up the whole bathroom. So now in the middle of the night we don't have to be blinded by turning the light on. Awesome little light right here. I am purchasing a few more for throughout the house and also for my little nephews to use as an night light. ... show more

    • I love him.
This is perfect! Very functional and so stinkin’ cute! He turns on and off easily with opening and closing his wee visor. As a bonus, now I have Space Oddity playing in my head. Ground control to Major Tom…… His cord is ridged enough to hold him up for easy exploration ( of my key board). His arms are ever open just waiting for a tiny hug. He’s a simple man that knows what he is and does accordingly. He definitely gets the job done. Good job, tiny space dude. I will speak kindly of you and your kind. ... show more

    • Just consider it a cheap decoration and not an everyday light and you’ll be alright
I saw these in a photo of someone’s modular synthesizer and had to have a pair of my own. They are not high-quality, authentically scaled or painted, industrial strength, adjective adjective but what they are is darned cute. The flexible lead between the plug and spaceman is plenty strong enough to support the light and keep it where it’s placed. Both of mine will get flicker-y when touching around the helmet area but I leave the visor open because they are on a power switch, so I just don’t mess with them. I wouldn’t use them to read a book, they aren’t that bright, but they do add enough light to my rack to be useful when the room lights are out. ... show more

    • nifty, low light laptop lamp
cool little light for low light situations. I use it when I'm doing lighting. Shows where the lighting is dim however, the flexible head is a little bit too spring.

I am very happy with this little spaceman. I bought it because I love geeky gadget things. It goes well with all the other quirky items I have in my home. The flexible gooseneck is firm and maintains whatever position you pose it in. I have read some reviews where people thought their astronaut was broken because it would not turn on once they opened the helmet. At first, I thought this very same thing when I tried turning mine on, but I quickly learned that you have to slide the helmet cover all the way to the back of the astronaut's head and then SNAP it into place. Once it is snapped properly, the light will come on. There is a small push-button on the backside that the helmet has to be locked into. You can push on the button with your finger, as well, but of course your finger has better things to do than to hold down this button all day long. So, I highly recommend the convenience of the locking helmet feature. I have small hands, and it is a little difficult for me to unlock the helmet when I want to turn the astronaut off, but I also struggle with pickle jars. First World Problems. I have not tried to read a book or study rocket science by the bright white LED glow shooting out of this astronaut's eyes but I am pretty sure there are some hardcore geeks out there who can and do use this little bugger for these very tasks (good luck on your studies, my friends). Overall, if you like random oddball stuff, this USB Astronaut Light is just waiting for you to toss it into your Amazon shopping cart as we speak. It feels sturdy and worth the harrowing mail delivery journey. Since it was made in China, just imagine the stories it could tell, if only it could talk. Perhaps, instead of rolling our eyes at the point of origin, we can opt for a different take on the matter. I don't know about you, but I personally have never made a voyage across a great big ocean in a cargo container before. This in and of itself makes this astronaut one brave fella! Yep. Just file this review under 'yet another Amazon customer with way too much time on her tiny bored hands'. Cool product, yo. ... show more

    • Adorable, great for a gift... including for yourself!
This little guy is really cool, and adorable. His "hose" is stiff enough to support him in almost any position, although I've found that he has a hard time with vertical USB slits (like on the sides of monitors, etc.). I've used him near the coffee table during movies when someone needs a little light in a dark room. I've used him in the car at night so people can see things, like digging through a purse. Most of the time I have him plugged into my counter top USB outlet and turned on at night for some light. He looks really cute hovering over a bottle of wine, looking like he traveled millions of miles to discover the greatest thing in the universe. You do have to push his visor all the way back until it clicks to get it to turn on. Takes some getting used to, but it's no big deal, other than thinking that you got a dud at first, or when a friend tests him out and they're afraid he'll break. ... show more

    • Kind Of A Nuisance
This little guy is cute and he comes in handy when I am reading thru the night. However he has on major flaw! He drinks on the job and wobbles all over the place and I find myself having to help him keep his balance frequently. He does give adequate light, quite bright actually so I have to turn him from the screen frequently. For the cute factor he is a 5, light factor 4-5 depends on how much light I need, purchase price 4, durability 10 and stability 1. He just can't seem to get a grip no matter how much I bellyache. I think cute aside I am going to purchase the necklace light. I'll keep him around for old times sake but a girl has to do what a girl has to do and he just can't keep falling down on the job when I need him, no matter how cute he is! ... show more
