TL;DR: These minimalist headphones from Sony do everything I need them to do, and I can wear them for hours on end with no discomfort. These headphones are great! For whatever reason, my ears are the wrong shape for many in-ear headphones ("earbuds"), unless they are incredibly small: after about 10 minutes of use, my ears are hurting so bad I can't wear them anymore. I've found that the solution for me is "neckband" headphones, where the electronics are stored in the neck band, and the earbuds can be extremely minimal. These headphones are incredibly light-weight, fit comfortably in my ears, and have enough battery life to get me through any task I've used them for. The microphone is good for phone calls, though it picks up a good deal of background noise (FYI, in case you're trying to talk while you do something semi-noisy in the background). The build quality is all what you would expect from Sony, who have been making consumer electronics as long as I've been alive. They have no ANC (active noise cancelling), but at the $20 price point I paid for them, that would really have been expecting too much. The sound quality is GREAT _for what I'm doing_. I mainly listen to podcasts or make phone calls with them. I have only listened to a little bit of music with them, and do not consider myself an audiophile (let's blame minor hearing loss), so I can't comment on the quality of the bass, muddiness, or any of the other audiophile stuff. My only complaint is that because the "neckband" is really just a cord, these can sometimes shift around as you are moving. I'm not sure I could recommend them for doing any kind of bouncing physical activity (plyometrics, cardio, sit ups, etc.) unless you have some way to hold them in place. Overall I would definitely buy these again, but since they're from Sony I don't expect I'll have to any time soon.

At 82 I do not need great audio but better than my hearing aids deliver. These deliver that & more. They are well balanced side to side & have good battery life. The earbuds were my main reason for buying this product. My ear canals go up, not in, & most all other earbuds are not compatible. These are so small they fit in my ear, not in my canals but they tuck in the folds of my outer ears. Good sound, sturdy, good battery life, small & light at a great price. By the way, my daughter owns a model 200 & they have magnets in the buds which is beneficial but maybe not enough to justify the additional cost. I’d buy again.

I purchased the black set to use while sleeping in a house with noisy family members. I switch from back to side fairly often while I sleep and use a somewhat firm memory foam pillow, and I've found a couple of issues that I haven't seen described (yet) in other reviews. I've used multiple different similar earbuds sets of this style/design, so I compare with experience. The positives are that the sound is better than pretty much all of the cheaper alternatives, and some of the more expensive options from lesser known brands. They block out most ambient noise too, which is the main reason I need them to sleep, but they don't block out lounder voices and they're not true noise cancelling headphones. They're comfortable for general use too, if you don't mind the dangling cords. The battery does consistently last close to the advertised 25 hours before needing to be charged again. Also, the announcing voice in the earbuds isn't so loud that it wakes me up when the battery gets low, unlike other headsets I've used that shouted at me every few seconds until I either plugged them in or powered them off after being woken up; I think these quietly repeat a few times, then stop. I haven't had the connection loss issue mentioned in one other review, these stay solidly connected to my phone; but my phone is normally pretty close, so YMMV. The first significant issue comes from the size of the earbuds, which stick out enough to cause pressure inside my ear while side sleeping. With a softer pillow this might not be an issue, but I need firmer head support. My solution is to tilt them to be more parallel to my ears than perpendicular. The second bigger issue comes from the length of the cord between the blocks on either side. It's a bit too short to prevent the blocks from sliding off my shoulders while on my side, resulting in the earbuds getting pulled out of my ears while I sleep. My solution there is to use a hair tie to bind both cables together under my chin (preventing the sliding), and using a sleep mask that mostly covers my ears (helping keep the earbuds in place). An additional minor annoyances is that the battery percentage estimate is wrong most of the time. After fully charging, it correctly says "fully charged" when powering them on and shows 100% in the Bluetooth info. But after using them for a full night's sleep (7+ hours), it thinks it's still "fully charged" when I power them on the next night. The following night it says "about 70 percent", then "about 50 percent" on the fourth night, but after a few minutes on that fourth night it says "battery very low; please charge soon" and the Bluetooth info suddenly shows 20%. So I have to charge them at "about 50 percent" to prevent them from powering off unexpectedly while I sleep. I had to replace my first set because the battery quickly began having charging issues, but it also had this battery level estimate problem even when new.

These earphones are exactly right for me. Some days I don't use them at all, but some days I might use them several hours, but either way the battery lasts a really long time. The sound quality is very good, and they are not "glitchy" on connecting at all. They pair very easily, and they are the most comfortable earphones I've ever had in my ears. The price is very reasonable. I can sleep in these and rarely even feel them. In fact, I sometimes wear them all night to block out sounds! I have bought extra pairs to keep around the house. I guess you can tell: I like these earphones and happily recommend them!

The sound on these are better than any other earbuds I’ve ever had. The battery life is great!!!! Fits my ears perfectly with causing them to hurt. A lot of ear buds hurt my ears and these don’t. When I need to remove them I can just let them hang around my neck. Can’t even tell I’m wearing them. I like these so well I purchased two more pair for my son and daughter. They love them as well. Very reasonably priced!!!!
