4.5/5 score. I had a WH-1000XM3 before so I bought this during the shopping season. It's different but still feels comfortable. It looks nicer. Sound quality wise, it's similar, but this is more open than the XM3. This is not good. It means people can hear what you are listening to. Xm3 doesn't have multi-point connection so it's a big jumb for me. This feature is a must for those with at least 2 devices. You can switch between any 2 devices and for me that's my 2 phones, corp and personal. I worried about the one not connecting to the headphone would leak the sound unintentional, but it's smart and won't do that. The unsounding phone would still play on it own but without any sound outside, as if it's muted. Sound quality is the only weak point of this headphone. Not to say it's bad, but just not as good as some other brands like Sennheiser. It's of similar quality as some other cheaper earbuds. It's ANC is among the best. It's so reliable when you travel and need to listen to anything on an airplane. not only because of the ANC, but also because it supports 3.5 mm headphone jack. So you never need to worry about the battery on international trips (but without battery the ANC won't work). This aspect is the same as the XM3. XM3 is still my goto headphone to use with my swtich. Quality wise, this is far better than a beats. I have some other Sony headphones, very old ones, plus the past XM3. They are all still perfect. On the other hand, Beats after the warranty period will start to deteriorate. The plastic on the earcup of my beats solo 3 was just like flakes and even though it could still play sound, it's totally not usable. I've only saw this problem in Beats, not in other brands including Sony. The case is bigger than 3 but more convenient since you don't need to fold. I like this one better. I'v never owned a pair of good ANC headsets, so I don't have anything to compare them to, other than a set of plantronics bass pro headsets. 1) The ANC works. I work in an area which was a warehouse, but is now a component shop. It is loud. The heat and AC is ridiculously loud. My tinnitus was driving me crazy when it was actually quite enough for me to hear it, which was every hour when i wasn't at work. So the ANC works. When I have the ANC turned on 100% someone can be standing right beside me and I wont hear them talking to me. There are 3 modes of ANC. 2) Sound Great. The sound quality is very good, but I am not picky, and so far I've only listened to books. 3) Long Battery Life. The battery life is LONG. I work 12 hour days, and I didn't have to recharge at at all for the first week - 48 hours. I downloaded the app, and updated the headset, not sure what the benefit was, because I did that right away. What I expected was what the plantronics did which was: Pause what ever I was listening to, when I removed them from my head. Sony WH1000X m3s don't. But I can tap the right ear and make it happen easily enough. They are expensive, all of the really good ANC headsets are. I think I have more to learn about these, I've not taken a call yet. ... show more

The customer we ordered the headphones for said when she opened the box there was only a little wood stand but no headphones. She also said the box was unusually large for a head set.

Great product. The sound feels like it’s drowning a bit but the overall quality is good, the headband can be a little discomforting on the head after long use but I think that’s just my head being sensitive. Ear pads are nice and cushiony so no problems there. I ended up being satisfied with them and give em a thumbs up 👍 ... show more

Set up and the mandatory account with agreement to ads. Sorry not worth it. Buy a cheap brand. Sony has no reason to make an account and have to download one more app. FOR HEADPHONES!! Really!! Willprobably return. This is BS.
