I have two of these, one in black and one in white, in different areas. Probably my favorite lights. Stable base (not a tripod!). These lamps supplement the light that my many, many plants love. Noticeable difference with less leaf damage, more healthy growth, perky petioles, and fluffy, full leaves. The timer function, along with setting options, makes for an easy and reliable solution. You can see the two halos in the picture, the base is on the floor. I do not find the lamps distracting. I love being able to control the placement and angle of the lights due to the bendable necks. I'm impressed with the quality of this light. Assembly was a no-brainer and took about 5 minutes from unboxing to plug and play. A simple 4-button inline control allows you to select from 3 spectrums, 4 time lengths, a dimmer, and on/off button. Base is made from heavy 1/4"thick steel, and post comes in 4 sections and made of sturdy steel pipe with threaded ends. The finish is either a baked enamel or a powder coat, and seems very durable. I have some medium size house plants, including 3 avocados, a lemon tree, 2 corn plants, and several smaller potted plants. This light is over 6 feet tall, and the twin heads illuminate all my plants evenly. My plants are loving it! ... show more

Almost 1 month of use and very impressed with this lamp. Our house runs very dark in the winter and it can be hard to keep certain plants healthy. These two are thriving!
