  • Clean Sound, Great Price, and Solid Protection Plan!
Wasn’t expecting these to sound this clean. The bass is definitely there, but it’s not overhyped or muddy — just tight and balanced. Mids and highs are crisp too, which is what I really wanted. Everything comes through nice and clear without getting drowned out. I scored these at nearly half off — crazy deal. And because I saved that much, I had enough left to grab the Protect Plus 3-Year Plan. That covers accidental drops, spills, and even mechanical/electrical breakdowns after the manufacturer warranty ends. If something goes sideways, they repair or replace it — no drama. For headphones I’m using daily, that kind of peace of mind is a no-brainer. Mic quality is surprisingly solid too. I’ve used it for calls, Discord, and meetings — everyone said I came through clear without that muffled or cheap Bluetooth mic sound. Not studio quality, but way better than I expected for this price. They’re lightweight and super comfortable — no clamp fatigue, even after long sessions. I’ve worn these for hours at a time without needing a break. One feature I really like is the ability to stay connected to both my phone and my PC at the same time. No need to keep switching back and forth — it just handles both seamlessly. I can take a call on my phone, then go right back to music or Zoom on my desktop without touching anything. Bluetooth vs wired? Here’s how it works: when you use them over Bluetooth, you get everything — active noise cancelling (ANC), transparency/ambient mode, touch controls, built-in mic, auto on/off, and voice assistant support. But the second you plug in a 3.5mm cable, the headphones switch to passive mode — meaning all of that shuts off. No ANC, no transparency mode, no touch controls, no mic, no auto on/off. You basically just get basic wired audio like old-school headphones. It still works in a pinch, but you're giving up all the smart features. That’s why I mostly roll wireless — it’s just a better experience. Battery life is excellent — I’ve been getting about 40 hours with ANC off, and 30+ hours with it on. It charges back to full in around 2 hours. Plus, it’s got auto on/off when you unfold or fold the headphones, which helps conserve battery and adds to that premium feel. Bottom line — clean sound, smart features, solid mic, long battery life, lightweight and comfy, and backed by a strong warranty. And at nearly 50% off? No regrets. If you see it on sale, jump on it. ... show more

  • Noise-cancelling mode was significantly better than what I'm used to
I decided to reach up in price and get these guys, but I got them as a renewed unit since I never keep the packaging anyways. Using the app controls to turn on and off the noise cancelling, I laughed out loud at the change ... at least I think I did. I couldn't hear it (just kidding). Other sounds besides myself almost completely melt away. I got these for the gym because the music and noise there was always overpowering my own media. I need the music to be loud enough to distract me while running or else I find myself wondering when I'll be finished far too often. These fit the bill very nicely. I also use them when operating loud tools or while vacuuming, and my media comes through much better. It's really nice. These are a little on the heavy side, but that is a trade-off I'm willing to live with because I wanted over-the-ear listening. It's much more comfortable for me, and these are comfortable headphones. Ambient mode is terrific ... show more

  • best headphone as out there
The Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones are lauded for their industry-leading noise cancellation, excellent comfort for long sessions, long battery life (around 30+ hours), and strong overall sound quality with app customization, making them a great value, especially as an older model. Key drawbacks include occasional frustrating touch controls, mediocre microphone quality for calls, and some users finding the bass can get muddy or that sound quality degrades with ANC on, but they remain top-tier for travel and daily use. Noise Cancellation: Consistently praised as exceptional, blocking out engine rumbles, office chatter, and other distractions effectively. Comfort & Build: Lightweight, comfortable for large ears, good clamping force, and a premium feel with a useful hard case. Battery Life: Offers over 30 hours of listening time with ANC on, plus fast charging. Sound Quality: Rich sound with powerful bass (adjustable via EQ), clear mids, and detailed highs; great for most listeners. Features: Supports multi-point Bluetooth (connect two devices), wear detection (auto-pause), and NFC pairing. ... show more

  • Worth It
I have had these for about 2 years now and I have no complaints. They work well with decent noise cancellation and sound quality. They're comfortable to wear and have a long battery life.

  • The ai stuff is annoying turn basically all of it off and its money
This is my second pare I've had. Good quality rather durable clean sound and good battery life. My first pair survived years of field service work and outdoor adventures. I dropped the poor things all the time never keep them in the case tossed them around and used them while running air tools. Sure the plastick got scratched and cracked, and I popped a fre brackets insid that held circut boards still, but everything just kept working. The drivers never blew out, the mics never stoped working it alway connected. I eventually after years and hundreds of drops did have to open it up and shake out a broken mounting tab or 2 that were sitting on the cone making it developed a buzz. Oh also maybe put a sticker on the touch controller its sensitive enough to feel long hair and just keep going bong bong bong as your hair brushes it. Ex riding a bike with your hair down lots of wind noise if you dont turn sound controller off and bong bong bong as your hair slaps the controller. OK book over, buy them on sail and be happy. ... show more

  • If you wear headphones, this is for you
I lost my last pair so I had to get this. It connects easily to phone or computer, or other device. The noise cancelling is terrific. They are very comfortable, going around my whole ear. I don't like the ones that just sit on the ear and are pressed down like a clamp. No good. Very good quality. They are a good value for the money, and even better when on sale! ... show more

  • Better than Bose
As an audiophile on a budget, these headphones take the cake. Moreso than Bose, whom I had been a stan for, for many years up until this point. Compared to my old Bose QuietComfort Sony makes me feel like I'm living in the future. The noise cancellation is top tier and the audio & bass quality is easily configurable in the app. There is a touch sensor on the right side of the ear muff so you can switch through tracks seamlessly. But if you don't want that feature on you can just turn it off via the app. The design is sleek, elegant and the controls are convenient and well thought out. 10/10 recomend for anyone who values great noise cancelling & sound quality for a good price. ... show more

  • Great Headphones terrible control interface
If I can get used to the controls of these headphones I won't be returning them, and I hope I don't have to. The older pair of sony headphones I was using (The Sony WH-CH700N headphones) had much better controls, a physical switch that can be pressed up or down to skip songs, and pushed in to pause them, another two buttons on the right to increase or decrease volume. These buttons that worked great have been replaced by a touch pad interface on the right headphone. Swipe up or down for volume, left or right for navigating songs, and tap the center to pause or play. Really cool idea, but when I have to make 4 attempts to pause my music instead of the one button push that always worked the problem is obvious. I'm a strong advocate of the phrase "If it isn't broken don't fix it" why are you innovating to make your product worse, and more annoying. I'll be testing these for a week and if it's a consistent problem I'm returning them. The sound quality is great and so are the noise cancelling and ambient noise features, but it's not that much of an improvement over my old WH-CH700N model, which as I mentioned also have better controls, If you are going to innovate have it be an improvement. Update: It's even worse, there's this feature called "Speak To Chat" which I never want enabled but if at any point two fingers touch the control sensor, it turns on this option that whenever I speak it turns off whatever I'm listening to and plays my voice. I never asked for this option and you can't permanently disable it from being activated. Stop giving me features I don't want. Stop forcing them on me. I never wanted speak to chat, I never will want it so let me disable the feature on my headphones so your garbage doesn't interfere with what I'm listening to. The first time I reviewed this product it was 3 stars because the control interface, since then it has dropped to a 2, and now to a 1, it's beyond annoying, the worst part being that these headphones sound great, have excellent noise cancelling, they are very comfortable, I really enjoy them but it's a constant annoyance to deal with this touch pad, I set the pair down and the touch pad lands face down, it unpauses whatever I'm watching, the most common accident being an increase or decrease in volume or a song skip/restart. It's just a mess, I still have my old headphones that have physical buttons as I mentioned above, but they don't sound as good. Why? That's all I have left to say. Why. Why this touch pad interface, is it such a marketable feature that it's worth sacrificing the functionality? Buttons, PLEASE. ... show more
