Purchased this for my sons 10th birthday - he’s big into music right now! Battery life is great, and I purchased a $10 generic brand wireless microphone to go with it - it plugged right into the back of the speaker and worked wonderfully. So - I got to here a bunch of 10 year olds sing karaoke that evening 😬. But after the party mom cranked some Def Leppard and GNR and the speaker sounded fantastic. It’s a bold, big sound and I’m a music snob so I know good sound when I hear it! No distortion when you turn it super loud. The only con I would note is my 10 year old has a bit of a time moving it bc it is heavy. I usually move it for him bc I’m afraid he’ll fall down the stairs w it or knock it into something… ... show more

We have owned various speakers. Used lots. Listened to even more- softball games, camping, block parties, etc. These Sonys, for the price of a set are an amazing deal. No distortion. Great bass. The media could not be loaded. Not a tailgate grade kind of volume - as many reviews stated - but more than enough for a house or backyard party. Really strange that on battery the max volume only goes as much as level 7 or 8. After that, it won’t sound louder. The bass is really nice and the connectivity is also great. I paired with one of my Alexa devices via bluetooth and it became part of a group, so that I have the same songs playing both inside and outside the house. The app is also useful for settings, but that’s it. I mostly use Spotify and Amazon apps for controlling playback and volume. ... show more

I am using this product in my living room as the sound quality is just spectacular! The only thing I do not like about it is even when the battery is fully charged you do not get the full potential of the speaker unless it’s plugged in. So if you were at a party or you have it along side a swimming pool you will not get the full volume out of it unless it’s actually plugged in. So if I’m listening to mine at only about half volume then it is perfectly OK but if I wanna really crank it up then I have to plug it in . Bought this for a backyard party, g hanging by the pool and general outdoor activities. It pairs easily with devices. The sound quality is very good and this thing is pretty loud I've read some reviews that say it isn't as loud when it's working off battery. This isn't the case. This thing is plenty loud. Dislikes On battery the volume is way too low. Typically a BT speakeelr will be used on battery at gatherings, sporting events etc. This ones sound is easily drowned out by ambiant noise. When you attempt to use the karaoke function it has an interesting bug where it pauses the video. It is hit or miss but when it happens you have to restart the unit. When trying to sing karaoke you have to have the mic right up to your face. The unit has no gain control and thus the mic sensitivity is way too low and will not pick up your voice unless its nearly touching your face. Likes Really nice looking unit Sound quality is very good and it gets to a good volume plugged in Nice app control with an entry level eq It can be splashed by water I ended up returning this for a JBL party box 100. The partybox is easily 30-40% louder on battery and nearly as good sound clarity. It also has a mic gain switch which allowed me to customize the input strength of the mic, now i can talk /sing at a normal volume and distance from the mic. While it isnt splash resistant that is fine by me, its loud enough and clear enough that i dont need it right near my pool to enjoy it. I purchased the sony on sale for 299 the partybox 100 is normally 299. Currently the sony is 399 and if you're reading this now id suggest the party box 110 for that price. ... show more
