Good lil speaker. Not the best of course but definitely decent for the price. Works great for what I bought it for in my bathroom when I’m in the shower. Will use it for my backpacking/camping trips too cause it is light weight and small. I have had it for a while now and it seems to have a good battery life too. This speaker packs a punch for its size. The audio quality is amazing for such a small form factor. Base is clear and does not disrupt the audio quality. Sony has done great with this speaker. It is very portable and convenient.

I bought this to replace a UE product many years old which was having problems connecting to bluetooth. This Sony connects immediately. I will be going to France shortly for a month, and this unit is so light and small that it won't add much to my luggage weight. I have other sound systems in my house for large and high quality sound, but for certain applications this is perfect. Are there better sounding portables out there ? Don't know. The sound from this small speaker is quite impressive and clear. It has surpassed my expectations. The clarity of vocals and amount of bass is surprising. When sitting on a hard surface, the bass actually made the speaker bounce causing an audible rattle. I put a soft coaster under it to stop the bounce and solved the issue. It is not overly loud but I was not expecting it to be an arena-filling sound. Exactly what I wanted for a small portable speaker I can travel with for music in the office. FOLLOW UP: I have been using this now for 2 days. I can say in my usage at maybe 1/3 - 1/2 volume, it has been operating for over 20 hours. I am very pleased with this little speaker. ... show more

    • Could have bought the newer version Sony XB100 speakers for about the same price.
They sound nice but you have to crank up the volume. The new version Sony XB100 speakers need less volume & are priced about the same. I would not have made the purchase if I knew it was recently replaced with a new version. I should have received a better price break, based on that fact alone.

Sound quality is impressive and it’s more than loud enough in my living room. Unfortunately, it’s not loud at all in an outdoor open space where I workout with friends. We wanted this to use with a workout out that calls out the exercises and counts down. It was useless unless we were standing next to it. And that was a 5:30 am when it’s especially quiet outdoors. Too bad. Kept it because it really is nice indoors, but I really didn’t need another indoor speaker when I have phones and Amazon Dots and Show’s everywhere around the house. ... show more
