It really is waterproof and still keeps working I was caught in the rain and I intentionally didn't secure it in a plastic bag already in my bookbag like I did my phone about 20 minutes in heavy rain I pressed play still stuck in the rain amazing it is a loud speaker you can hear the extra bass as it sounds like speakers rattling in a car ignore other reviews saying it's not loud I have two phones so it depends on your devices one phone is louder than the other both are Motorola as I realized before the speaker the upgraded phone is not as loud and the previous phone is louder so with that one the speaker is very very loud good battery life as well I think you should realize it's a very loud speaker other than that it goes with the flow of your devices it's worth buying and it's portable and handy it answers the phone it even rings when it's a phone call given this review once you purchase you will be amazed ... show more

I was hoping to throw this in my beach bag and use it at the beach. Tried it and you have to be sitting right next to it to hear anything. Nice for an office or two rooms, but that's about it on the volume. Cute and compact. Easy to pair and it did have some bass.

Sometimes I don't want ear buds when I listen to music. For a compact speaker, the sound is really good on this. It does have some hiss, but it's a very small speaker; so I'm not expecting the same sound quality as a larger speaker. I like that the buttons are labeled in a lighter color than the body; I have another speaker that the buttons are the same color and I cannot ever see what I'm pressing without taking my glasses off and getting up close. It's dense and solidly built. Has a rubber coat to the whole thing except the speaker grate. Does not feel fragile. I figured decent sound for the brand but was really surprised at how rich. Floats on water at about 80-90% submersion best I can see. Gives you an idea of how compact and solid it is. It vibrates on a surface when playing bass. This doesn't cause any chitter or noise due to the rubber coating of the unit. Just amusing to observe* and gives you an idea of the sound. Strap is nice to hang it by when playing. I like to use a small bluetooth speaker in the bathroom while showering. I like to listen to classical music and podcasts. This small speaker has a strong bass, which might appeal to some when listening to popular music. However, the (overly) strong bass somewhat drowns out the higher frequencies needed for clear speech understanding. It takes an effort to understand podcasts because of the strong bass. I am a complete JBL loyalist, but I bought two of these on Prime Day for the TWS (true wireless stereo) functionality and I have to say, I am impressed. The sound quality is excellent for the size. The bass is boomy and the mids and highs are ever-present and clear at any volume level. The volume is more than adequate for indoors and even cozy outdoor functions. The Bluetooth and TWS connectivity is quick and flawless. I love that when you set the speakers in stereo mode, they automatically reconnect to one another when powered on and even provide a voice prompt to tell you the channel of each speaker (left/right). When using two speakers in stereo mode, the controls on each speaker function for both speakers; ie. volume +/-, play/pause and even power off. Those who are commenting on the Db output need to understand the physical limitations of such a small form-factor speaker. Any speaker the same size that is ‘louder’ is not going to have the relatively flat frequency response that the SRSXB100 has. Often times small Bluetooth speakers will compromise on the bass at higher volumes to allow the mid and treble frequencies to carry the sound more and therefore sound ‘louder.’ This is done by utilizing DSP dynamic processing and harmonic bass enhancement. Every major Bluetooth speaker manufacturer does this, but there has to be a balance to it. Sony found that balance and perfected it with the SRSXB100. ... show more
