  • Simplicity is perfection
Among all the objects in my camera bag, some stupidly expensive, this is one of the MOST critical to my style if photography and the LEAST expensive. I have several in my bag at any given time because I unintentionally abuse or lose them. I think they should sell them by the dozen :).

  • Best designed wire remote I have ever used.
This remote is small and has a concave button so it doesn’t accidentally fire. It also has a brilliant built in take up spool when you don’t need a 6 foot cable dangling from your camera.

  • Works great.
Works as advertised, including the 'half-press' feature just like button on the camera (for prefocus, etc). Button and housing seem to be of good quality. Cable is a bit rigid, nice that it can be 'shaped' as needed or rolled up (and stays in place somewhat) but might be a bit fragile (not sure on long term durability). ... show more

  • This really is a must have
I really don't see how anyone could dislike this. Right out of the box, you plug it into the camera and works right away. (Light click = focus; full click = shutter) It's light as hell and surprisingly cheap for a Sony product. Yes, the cord is a little stiff like someone else mentioned but it's really not a big deal. I can't see how that will impact its life at all. ... show more

  • Great remote for the a6400
I choose this for its compact size. It is very easy to use. I feel like it could have been cheaper on price.

  • and while I'm a little sad there's no wifi remote (and I don't want to ...
This is the almost-perfect solution for my RX100 MKIII night photography! I don't want to be near my tripod, shaking my camera, and when I'm taking 15-30 second exposures, even an additional 2 second delay while taking photos really limits how much time I have to spend waiting around to reposition the camera. This remote lets me actuate the camera and snap photos from a slight distance. It's completely worth the cost, and while I'm a little sad there's no wifi remote (and I don't want to use my phone as the screen would blind me at night) but this works just as well. Again, I used this with the RX100 MKIII and had absolutely NO issues. ... show more

  • Works without a hitch
I bought this because I was tired of drained batteries in infrared remotes and clicking the remote over and over while trying to angle it at the right spot to get it to register. A tad bit on the expensive side, but I was willing to pay extra for something that just works. Plug it in to the USB port on the side of your camera and immediately use it, no messing with settings. Half press activates auto-focus and a full press activates the shutter. Simple and effective. The cord is too short for self portraits, but it works perfectly for what I bought it for (landscapes, astrophotography and macro). ... show more

  • This Remote did not come with an instruction booklet and ...
This Remote did not come with an instruction booklet and it was difficult for me to get it to work. After much frustration, I learned that my Sony RX10 had an outdated driver which did not support this device. Once I learned this, I was able to upload the new driver to my camera and it works perfectly. Just an FYI, as I did not find anything in any of the information suggesting a need for a driver update. My camera is relatively new. Hope this information is helpful to another lost soul out there. ... show more
