  • Great value for money

I've ran a couple of these on older 90's cars & they work perfect. Easy to use, looks nice & sounds great

  • Great quality, perfect sound!
Style: Radio
This Sony MEX N5300 is what the car stereo should be. It outperforms Kenwood/JVC by the sound quality and features. It's everything I would think of a stereo, plus some extra toys. And I am only looking for a perfect sound. Well, I got it and I rate it A+ In attempt to DIY custom home theater with an affordable budget, I got all 12 BOSE speakers from Mercedes Benz S320 (1995) out, with the amplifier. When connected the wires to the Sony, it looked and sounded like they were waiting almost 30 years to meet each other. A perfect match! The sound is full, deep, dense and complete! If you can do similar like me, you'd know what I'm talking about. However, the unit has enough power to be used without additional amplifier. One important fact - made in Thailand, by Sony Corp, it matters, trust me. ... show more

  • Great sounding and looking head unit
Style: Radio
Works great, sounds great. I put this in my 98 Jeep Cherokee and wired it to the factory Infinity amp, the sound quality is much better than the factory head unit, and the 10 band EQ is very nice. Bluetooth connects within 30 seconds. Total color customization of buttons and display make this head unit match the interior backlights for nighttime. Easy to use menu and settings. The head unit has a very clean look instead of the more cheesy chrome and rainbow head units like people had in high school. 18 FM presets is also a bonus. ... show more

  • Great stereo, nice features, easy to use.
Style: Radio
She is loving her new stereo so far, we haven't played with the Bluetooth features yet, so I can't review that part. I do wish it had digital radio like my stereo has, but it's a great single din stereo at a great price (geez, I remember when I bought my first Sony CD stereo for my car as a teen... let's just say it was a fraction of this stereo and 5× the price)! ... show more

  • This stereo is amazing
Style: Radio
I bought this to replace an inexpensive BOSS stereo that I purchased/installed a few months ago. My original goal with the BOSS stereo was to replace my factory system from 2001 with something much newer that supported Bluetooth so I could stream Spotify from my phone. While I was technically successful in getting a Bluetooth connection, the terrible audio quality and user interface of the BOSS made the thing unbearable. After enduring that thing for the past few months, it was imperative that I replace it. There were too many issues to go into detail here so I will spare you but I will say that the audio quality was so bad that it was literally painful to listen to for more than a few minutes at a time. Replacing the BOSS system with this Sony product underscores why you should probably spend more than $25 on a car stereo. I decided on this product after researching several other alternatives and I am exceedingly pleased that I selected this system. The audio quality alone is enough to justify this purchase. I don't have an amp or sub-woofer or any of that fanciness but the premium factory speakers I have sound great with this stereo. There are a bunch of equalizer presets you can try out depending on the type of music you prefer to enjoy. If you like, you can even customize your own equalizer settings. The interface on this thing is super intuitive. It's hierarchical so sub-settings are nested in a way that just makes sense. There is even an option to auto-set the time based on data embedded in your FM signal. Bluetooth hookup was quick and painless. You can customize the color of both the display and the buttons independently. This gives you a range of color schemes from a sterile, operating room white, to full on disco party with colors fading into each other. The installation was easy enough if you're comfortable with that sort of thing. The wire for the included microphone is longer than I needed (or I imagine anyone would actually need) so just I twist-tied the excess and tucked it behind the stereo. Be sure to purchase an adapter for the wiring specific to your vehicle. You will need a soldering iron (and related accessories) to connect the adapter to the stereo plug unless you're having someone install it for you. ... show more

  • Great All-Around
Style: Radio
Cannot comment on long-term durability but I got it installed quickly and got every function working except my steering wheel controls (I believe I need some additional hardware for that to work in my '09 Honda Fit). I had bought another radio but was frustrated with fitment issues, obscure plug types and overall perceived lack of quality (it was a Continental brand radio). The button feel on this model is definitely much crisper and solid.. the other radio felt tinny, hollow and cheap. The bluetooth works great, the color matching feature works great, the menus are intuitive and to make it even easier can also be navigated in Sony's app or via the included remote. I did not want a large radio with a touchscreen.. just a classic style radio with modern features and performance, and that's exactly what this is. Homerun Sony! Perfect companion for the wonderful little Honda Fit. ... show more

  • Sony quality as expected
Style: Radio
Good unit for the price. I wanted single DIN with a front access USB, plus good amount of watts. Sound quality is good. Wiring harness all clearly marked for install. Controls not real intuitive - had to consult manual a few times. There’s a lot on this I probably won’t use. The remote is kinda pointless on a car stereo ... show more

  • Huge Upgrade and Awesome Addition To The Sony Family
Style: Radio
I don't like Pioneer or Kenwood. I have had a Sony stereo for the past 20 years and she held up great. Anyways so today is the first day and so far so good. It has a lot of cool options (ie: Flashing Lights, a microphone, and even a remote) (Either read the manual or play around like I did to find even cooler features :) The only complaint I have is that it is really hard to activate/pair Bluetooth to your phone for the first time. I literally had to look it up on YouTube. Besides that though it was a major upgrade as the last stereo I had was falling apart. *I will update if anything else goes wrong. ... show more
