The image quality can't be matched, shooting through a chain link fence can barely see it and the DOF is friggen drool worthy with SHARP in focus images. The only issue had was the hood with where it's mounted fell off mid-game and when turning the element got scratched, a pricy replacement! The part seemed to be held on by some glue and that was it, very cheap of them to do that. Most Sony line feels cheap, except the 400mm f2.8. It's as sharp and beautifully rendering as you've heard, but the real reason to spend the extra money on this over the Sigma 135 is the snappy, accurate AF (far higher keeper rate and much better ability to find focus in low light) AND it's noticeably smaller and lighter. Additionally, it's allowed me to forgo having the 85mm f/1.4 G Master and instead go with the Sony 85mm f/1.8 FE and Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 ZA, as I find no real reason to carry the extra weight and cost of the 85 G Master with such stellar glass available at 50 and 135. ... show more

    • Great lens bad service.
Very disappointed with the seller. The lens cap ring was glued to the lens so the hood could not stay on. Such a shame. It took forever to get my money back. Very disappointed. I ended up buying the same lens from a reputable used equipment competitor. So much happier.

This is by for the best lens in the Sony line up. If you can afford it, BUY IT. It’s as close to perfect as you can realistically come.

    • Product came with broken front ring. Glue marks. Seller repair was a joke.
Product came clearly broken without any effort for repair. Now I have to wait two weeks for my money back as the return process is slow.
