Fantastic Value FX30 – Excellent for Video (and Still Photos Too)
As a longtime devoted fan of Sony’s A7 series since the very first model, I was incredibly excited to finally get my hands on the FX30. I bought it primarily for video recording, but I’ve also been testing it extensively as a stills camera with various lenses — and I’m loving it. The camera feels solid and well-balanced in the hand, with excellent ergonomics and a great set of features. So far, I’ve encountered zero technical issues. I purchased this unit as “renewed,” and I have to say it’s outstanding value for the money. Defective Product and Frustrating Refund Experience, rude customer service with Amazon.
This is regarding a camera I purchased that was defective and would not turn on at all. I immediately requested a refund, but the refund process took an unreasonable amount of time. I had to contact Amazon customer service several times regarding this issue. Amazon also contacted the seller by email, but the seller never responded. Because the issue was not being resolved, I had to call Amazon repeatedly and eventually speak with a supervisor. Unfortunately, during one of my calls, the supervisor was extremely rude and unhelpful. When I asked to speak with a higher-level manager, she refused to transfer my call and told me to call back, even though I was already on the phone with Amazon. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and time-consuming. I should not have had to make numerous calls to receive a refund for a defective product that never worked. I am requesting that Amazon review this situation, including the customer service interactions, and take appropriate action. I also expect Amazon to ensure that customers are treated respectfully and that defective-product refund requests are handled promptly and fairly. ... show more

Good camera, but I'd look at a renewed FX2 instead
This is a good camera and I had no trouble at all with the renewed side of it. My only hesitation is whether it's the best use of the money. I ended up picking up a renewed FX2 for not a whole lot more, and with that you get full frame and a better photo setup. I love the FX2 and would point people that direction, but the FX30 itself is still a solid option. ... show more

I love my FX30!!!! For the price, I don't think there is a better cinema camera! I have a movie on Prime and 40% of the film was shot on my FX30. My next film will be shot only on my two FX30's.
