I use this boombox for teaching my fitness classes. The sound quality is very good for the size of the unit and it is easily used. My only suggestion is that I would prefer a longer connecting cord. A very compact and easy to carry system.

I needed a boombox to play music in the dog's room when we are gone. This does a fine job of that. I might even try playing an ancient cassette. I needed a dedicated simple on/off switch, and this has that feature. If you want outstanding sound buy a JBL Charge or a Bose Soundlink and use that. If you just need background noise for a shop, a dogs room, etc, this will do the job. ... show more

I've made the mistake of buying more than one of these things. All of them have quit working from a few months to a bit over a year. Problems range from discs skipping to the machine no longer reading discs at all. If it's out of warranty, Sony will give you the number to some repair place where it costs more to ship the thing both ways than the unit is even worth (and this is without the cost of repair). Sony used to be good. Now they just manufacture cheap rubbish that is designed to fail and be replaced, while the plastic carcasses go to the landfill. I'm swearing off Sony, at this point. Worthless company. (BTW, I have an Emerson CD boombox that is over 20 years old that I still use every day, so it's obviously possible to make one that will last.) ... show more
