I used to shoot fuji and liked their small body format. I was looking for a smaller but effective backup camera to my a7r. I want to do more of street photography and must travel professionally a lot. I was looking for the X100IV but very quickly gave up on the idea...everyone can guess why! So here I am with this little wonder - the a6700, my first Sony APS-C. Not perfect but pretty close. The ergonomics are great with a good size grip. The images are fantastic and the body format is just what I needed when I added the Smallrig extension. The auto-focus is amazing (especially compared to Fuji). The EVF is small and pixels limited but usable. I would consider the LCD good because I do not use it too much - I need reading glasses for that, which is a pain. The only mistake I made is to buy it with the 16-50mm kit lens which is quite a let down, except maybe for the size. I quickly bought the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 and the Sony 20mm f2.8 which are saviors for what I want to do, and the latest makes it pocketable. Overall, great experience so far. ... show more

If you just need good autofocus for vlogging, get the less expensive Sony ZV-E 10 ii. Sitting on your desktop, you don't need the features of this this A6700 which is an all-rounder for street, travel, or vlogging. They share the same sensor, but the A6700 has built-in image stability plus a viewfinder for sunny days. It's heavier and feels like a million bucks. Coming from an a7iv, it’s obviously not the same but I was glad that the video quality was not a sacrifice. There’s no compromise in video, for such a compact camera, with a flippy screen, it’s definitely worth what you’re paying if something like an a7siii or a7iv are out of budget or you just want something smaller ... show more

I bought this a6700 kit to take high-quality photos and videos during backpacking trips. I wanted a camera that could take RAW photos, could capture 10-bit 4k video, had an EVF, had at least a 1" sensor, and was compact enough to fit in my camera pod, and the Sony a6700 with the 16-50mm collapsible lens was basically the only camera currently on the market that fit all the requirements.
