  • Amazing
Style: Camera
The camera is amazing. I needed a camera for family portraits and underwater wildlife/landscape video. This camera is the perfect hybrid photo/video. I am really impressed with both departments. More expensive than the R5, but the peace of mind of knowing that is not going to overheat inside the underwater case, great custom white balance and super35 no binding 4k made me decide. ... show more

  • This thing is a beast.
Style: Camera
I volunteer once a week at our animal shelter for photos for Petfinder. The eye focus for animals is spot on. The second photo is of a cat who wouldn't come out of the kennel in a dark room. The photo was taken at 12800 ISO with very little grain; which was easy to fix in LR.

  • Great camera with not so good of a battery life
Style: Camera
It's a really nice camera and it takes amazing photos, however, the battery life is not the best so make sure you invest in a second or even third battery. Good thing is you can still use your batteries from you other Alpha cameras.

  • Wireless Connections Keeps Failing, Making Camera Rebooting
Style: Camera
I wish I would love Sony A1, given that it has such great receptions from reviewers. From the Spec, it is the most powerful mirrorless Pro camera at the moment. However, once I tried to connect the camera to my Wifi or the Sony App on my iPhone or iPad, the connection keeps failing and the camera reboots many many times! This issue is even not resolved after latest firmware update (v 1.01). I posted on Sony A1 Facebook group and people there are nice to help and they confirmed this behavior is absolutely abnormal, might be attributed to hardware defect. I just feeling disappointed with Sony. A1 is not a cheap camera and they should provide better quality controls in the factory. As a previous Nikon and Canon owner, I never experiencing such hardware issues with the camera, especially when it is new and only has been used for a couple of hours. ... show more

  • Top of the heap
Style: Camera
This camera just does its job VERY VERY well. What USED TO BE a problem getting sharp, good bird pix in flight is no problem anymore with 30fps at your disposal. Just point and shoot (do birds with SONY's excellent 100-400mm tele, or longer). No camera is perfect (so future models will eventually emerge) but this comes close. It's only money. No regrets. ... show more
