  • Must have subwoofer!
This gave the Arc sound bar a great boost. The sound is crazy nice. It was super easy to set up. Just open the Sonos app and it’ll come up and just follow the prompts for set up. The style is slick and beautifully glossy. I placed it between my sofas and it’s so crystal clear and it gives it that nice boost. The size is perfect. Not too big and not too small. Just right. You can adjust the bass in the app to your liking. You definitely need this subwoofer for your Arc soundbar. ... show more

  • 3D sound
So much has been written about the extraordinary sonic experience of the Sonos soundbar and sub system that there is nothing I can add. The two units will set you back about $1500 total which is a lot but all I can say is “worth every penny.” My wife can now hear dialogue on television programs so well that we have stopped using the closed caption feature we used for years. Best review I have is my wife was standing near the sub and commented she didn’t hear anything coming out of it. I turned it up and played some Bach from Spotify and told her to close her eyes and point at where the sound was coming from. She couldn’t. The speaker arrays and the engineering of the system bounces music around the room so that you are immersed in it, rather than it blaring from any one spot. As one review said, it is indeed “3D sound.” Connected to the ARC HDMI on my smart TV I am continually impressed with this sub and the Sonos system. We got the white sub and it is beautiful as well. I did find the WiFi connectivity more challenging than many indicated; I had to turn the sub upside down and manually type in the speaker serial number to get it to connect, but once done it is sonic heaven. Love it. ... show more

  • What can you say - it's a Sonos!
Bought this to add to my existing Sonos system even though a newer model is out because this model still has Ethernet connectivity. I like keeping as much load off my wireless network as possible and this device fits the bill. Great sound. Everything you would expect from a Sonos.

  • It sounds great
Best sub for a soundbar system. I've tried the Klipsch cinema 600 and 300, Samsung various, lg various, but this is in a class all by itself. My main level is an open concept - Kitchen, Living Room, are Dining are all open. This thing sounds great without rattling the windows (although it probably could if I turned it up). Night mode setting is helpful for when the kids go to bod. Don't waste your money elsewhere. Buy once, cry once. It's worth it. Pros: 1. Sound Quality 2. App & Settings 3. It looks great (white and glossy) Cons: 1. Price - hope you're able to find it on sale! ... show more

  • Expensive, but worth it.
Bought this to use along with the ARC soundbar. No issues to report. Sounds great, setup was painless and so far no connection issues as some others have reported.

  • Made my Sonos Fives sound horrible
I had a pair of Sonos Fives, and they sounded great, but as soon as I paired this sub to them, it drew the stereo image towards the sub, and the bass sounded terrible. When you incorporate the Sonos Sub, it puts a high-pass crossover on the Fives, taking the bass away from them. They should have made that optional. The crossover point is also not adjustable. It's way too high for my liking. The bass coming from the 6 woofers of the Fives in sealed enclosures sounded much better than the bass coming from the ported Sonos Sub. I also wish they let you pair more than one sub with your system. In my home theater, I have six 12" SVS subwoofers. I don't understand why people are rating this so highly. It sounds like what you'd expect from an 8" sub. Your $600-700 is much better spent on an SVS PB-2000. Yeah, I get it. It looks great, and I got it for my kitchen, but it just doesn't sound that good, and that's after multiple tries at using the automatic tuning system. There's only so much you can get out of a small ported enclosure with two small woofers. Considering the cost of two Fives and the Sub, it's quite ridiculous actually. I went back to my NHT system with two NHT subs, and it sounds so much better. Honestly, if you must have Sonos, just get a Five or two and skip the Sub. My advice for Sonos is to make the crossover point adjustable, make the high-pass crossover optional and adjustable, and allow more than one sub to be paired. A parametric EQ band or two for the sub would be great too. ... show more

  • DOES NOT WORK WITH S1. There is no way to get gen 3 to work with your existing S1 system.
