I’ll admit I was confused about what I’d need to stream music through WIFI. DAC, pre-amp, receiver, etc etc. And I’ll also admit I was worried about some comments about set up. I bought this small Sonos speaker and it does it all. I downloaded the Sonos app and it was simple. All I had to do was connect to my network and add Amazon (but you can add whatever service you have) and I was streaming. I also connected it to my iphone as a bluetooth speaker. You literally don’t need any additional equipment. Sound is great. Lots of bang for the buck. Actually an incredible value for the $169 I paid.

Love this new version of the Era. I had no need for the voice interface, and this was perfect for adding a quality music source that is moisture tolerant to a covered, screened porch on our existing Sonos network. Sound quality is excellent for a single source device. As I was testing, I found myself wanting to sit there and listen to more of my music collection, which is always a positive indicator of sound quality. I'm a very frugal, DIY person, and was prepared to use an on-hand Sonos Connect plus a small amp and some ceiling or wall mounted outdoor speakers, which I have done for other outdoors Sonos situations. That project would have cost about what the Era 100 SL cost. Instead, saved me time, avoided drilling holes and crawling around the attic. Basically a plug and play solution, and Sonos' software interface for adding an Era 100 SL to an existing Sonos network is about as smooth and friction free as it can get. It looks great. It feels like quality. It sounds great. It's easy to use. Hard to go wrong.

When Bose stopped supporting their Soundtouch speakers by refusing to update their app, I had to find wireless speakers from a different brand. These Sonos speakers are just what I was hoping for. Easy to set up, easy to use and amazing sound. Bose is now dead to me, but who needs them when Sonos makes products this good.

The Sonos era SL was simple to set up, it came with an easy to understand user-guide and app to help you find and install it quickly. We use it in our office and it connected to my desktop and iPhone fairly simple, and the sound it amplifies throughout is incredible! Just one little one filled the entire room, so I would say it’s a decent value for the money. Sure there are cheaper options out there but none have the ability to adjust simultaneously from multiple sources and have different areas.

I have to say. this is a pretty nice wifi speaker that complements my existing home Sonos system. Since I plan to keep it in the same place all the time, I went with with this one that's powered from an a/c outlet. However, I like this speaker so much that I'm considering getting the portable wireless one for my lanai.

After just a few days, mobile app just stopped recognizing speaker pair. Several days later, after many factory resets, app reinstalls, downloading the desktop app, changing various configurations, resetting the router, checking with multiple bluetooth devices, app saying youre connected youre all set: the speakers are just not able to be picked up by anything from Sonos suite of crappy apps. There's no reason it should be this cryptic as to why these speakers just decided to just stop connecting.
