  • if you buy whatever else you’re considering, you’re going to regret not going with this one
Color: Black Wood Cover
The media could not be loaded. Boy oh boy do I have a lot of things to say about this piece of furniture. Let’s start off by being clear on what kind of person I am so you know where I’m coming from. I’m a 5’ tall, 100lbs girl. I *dont* do heavy lifting, let alone build furniture. I already knew I’d need someone to help build it (aka build it for me, insert boyfriend here) but what i didn’t anticipate for was just how much glass weighs. BE AWARE that you are buying a sturdy tv stand. If i’m not mistaken, the packages (2 total) weighed a total of 100lbs. That’s a whole one of me. HEAVY. Now, if you’re experienced with ikea furniture (we are) this is going to be a piece of cake to build. The hardest part about putting it together is making sure the pegs line up with the holes, and in my opinion it would’ve been a lot easier with 3 people, 2 people to hold the larger and heavier furniture pieces (3 total) while the other lines them up. Now, this is where it got tricky for me. I’m SUPER weary about purchasing furniture online, in fact i don’t think i’ve ever purchased a piece online that i didn’t actually see in real life prior. I know you’re probably looking at this thing and thinking “wow! that looks exactly like what i want and it’s a good price. must be AWFUL.” but i PROMISE YOU this is not another cheap knockoff wish purchase. Anyways, i get this thing in the mail, and wrangle it into my living room, boyfriend and i manage to put it all together and we’re setting the top down on the body........ and the holes don’t line up. Nothing major, maybe by like 2mm. Nothing some good old fashioned elbow grease, weight, and gravity can’t take care of. We managed to mangle these metal and wooden pegs into the poor particle board holes, and it was just... crooked. Upon looking at the piece of furniture from the front, everything was fine. HOWEVER, looking at the side of it, you could tell the back didn’t sit flush down. there was a good 3mm clearance between the bottom of the top piece, and the rest of the body. Idk about you guys, but i wasn’t comfortable placing my $2k TV on that. SO, i send an email explaining what was up. I know, right? Try getting ANYWHERE with seller support on amazon. i don’t even think 2 hours passed, and i got a phone call from some guy who works for this company. Holy cow! Fast, and friendly, and straight to the point. So, this customer support rep (i thought) is basically giving me the run down about how “everything is precisely laser cut” and how “could you send us some pictures.” he was SUPER nice about it, so I thought to myself, “okay, this guy totally doesn’t believe me, i’m not going to get anywhere and his boss is going to tell me it’s my fault, that’s just how customer service works.” Now idk about you guys, but this whole coronavirus thing has me a liiiiiittle crazy. So i started to have a little fun with the guy and ask him his name, where he’s from. I FOUND OUT, this guy is based in LA, and he’s basically the owner of the company. THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY HIMSELF, reached out to me, some lowly amazon customer, to correct everything for me. I was SHOOK. So i send the pictures, and i get an email back from him BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY, saying “hey, updating you that the manufacturer has been notified and i’ll let you know when they tell me what’s up” and then i had an answer by the end of the next day. Here’s where we get to the part that really blew me out of the water. HE HITS ME BACK and says “hey, so they said they’re going to remedy this immediately and we’ve sent you the replacement pieces, here’s tracking” ABSOLUTELY NO FUSS. Never in my LIFE have i experienced customer service like that. Forever 21 sent me someone else’s whole order and the lady accused me of LYING. And i was getting a call and updates from the big guy! That’s cool. That’s so cool i’m willing to leave a review and tell people to buy this $1000 furniture piece when you COULD spend $250 at ikea. ITS WORTH IT. I end up getting my new piece in the mail within the next day or two, and lo and behold it fits like a glove. Again, absolutely no fuss, just fit, and PERFECTLY. I gave this thing a GOOD shake, from all angles. I mean hey, i spent damn near $1000 on this!! It better be worth it. And oh my goodness, it is. It is beautiful. It is the perfect, minimalist, professional, deep black setup that i’ve been dreaming of. It compliments all of my electronics well, and conceals all the non-aesthetic bits i don’t like. I haven’t felt any give, bend, warp, wiggle, shake, buckle, creak, whine, squeak, ANYTHING out of this. It’s quiet and soft open/close and it’s just so perfect. I see so many pieces of furniture that are just weird, with funny lines from drawers, or cutouts, or shelf placements, etc and this is a nice, true, black glass cover on black particle board and it’s beautiful. Which is another thing, IT SOFT OPENS AND CLOSES. it has pumps to make sure it opens and closes smoothly and won’t ever slam. I didn’t know that originally but man am i pleasantly surprised. I think what i like the most about the opening mechanism is that it won’t allow the door to open all the way to where the glass is touching the floor. MY ONLY COMPLAINTS; which are quite frankly, VERY Karen of me to “complain” about -the pumps for the door aren’t black, which doesn’t even really matter because nobody sees them! -there’s empty space in the back of the lower shelves, and while that doesn’t affect me directly, i can’t help but think of the average puppy or kitten or dragon or ferret or any other one of gods great creations that wouldn’t crawl back there and nip up some cables. granted, if you place it back against the wall it should be fine, and you should be keeping an eye on your animals anyways! so let’s break this down: trust that it’s not going to collapse and break my expensive electronics or hurt anyone-5/5 nice and pretty-5/5 easy to build-5/5 child and pet friendly (easy to clean)-5/5 So i gotta rate this a whole 20 out of 20 possible points. AND that customer service? wow. just buy it. Stop looking around and trying to convince yourself you like something else when you know you like this one. It’s so worth it. AND, just to let you know, i haven’t stubbed my toe on this thing ONCE. 10/10 ... show more

  • Good solid console with wonderful simplicity!
Color: Walnut Wood Cover
We shopped a long time for a console for our new 70 inch TV, and are most pleased with this choice. My daughter and grandson (19 yr old) put it together in about two hours. Everything works smoothly. The little wheels are great on our hardwood floors and the hinged door opens and closes easily. The wood tones in the front panel are lovely (slightly lighter than expected) and look nice with other wood tables and flooring in the room. We are happy with our choice! ... show more

  • Looks good, can be a challenge putting it together
Color: Black Wood Cover
Initially my review was 1 star, but I was confused and frustrated with the assembly. Once I got it figured out it was smooth sailing. I haven’t setup any of my devices yet to see how the I/R repeater works. Whatever it is must be just a reflector? I managed to damage some of the boards while trying to assemble thinking I needed to force things into place. There’s also some scratches on a side panel, but I’m not sure if I did that or it shipped that way. The door doesn’t close all the way. I’m not sure how I would fix that or if it’s supposed to be slightly open. This makes the “push to open” feature a little clumsy though. ... show more

  • Quality furniture
Color: Walnut Wood Cover
The media could not be loaded. I seldom make a spontaneous decision when it comes to buying furniture however, the Sonorous media cabinet is an exception. I looked at dozens of designs, even visited local furniture shops, but could not find what I was looking for. I also read many reviews until Amazon's algorithms made this suggestion. I was looking for a minimalist design with a low profile, and with plenty of storage. This media cabinet serves all my needs. It is a very well designed, expertly put together piece of furniture that really compliments the mid-century decor of my house. It arrived in two packages, and I must say they were packed like a tank. Thank you for doing that! I consider myself a veteran of ready-to-assemble furniture, and boy, this was hard to put together. Not because it is complex or ill-designed. The pieces are quite heavy, which I think is pretty good. It took me 2.5 hours to finish assembly and I was sweating by the end of it. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase. It is a solid piece of furniture that I know will last for many years. ... show more

  • Easy assembled unit.
Color: Walnut Wood Cover
Easy to put together. Very sturdy. Only thing we were not happy with was the wood front piece. In all the pictures the wood appeared to be cedar because of the blond streak. what was sent was a light oak cover. We are very displeased with the shipper. We were home all day of the shipment, but did not get a knock or ring of the door bell. I discovered it the next morning leaning up on end The box indicated the [proper storage was on the box side) beside my garage door. The morning was a very heavy moisture morning. The shipping box only had one band around one to the ends. The ends had openings, but nothing was sticking out of the. All the parts were in an inner box, which showed no damaged or openings. We opened the box in the garage and found all pieces were damp. Before assembling, we placed all parts in the house, wiped each piece and let them get climatized to the surrounding environment for 2 days. ... show more

  • Was able to assemble by myself!
Color: Walnut Wood Cover
Had to drag the parts, piece by piece up two levels, but got it done. Single handedly assembled with only one gaff, but the precision parts allowed me to back track and fix without a complete disassembly. A lot of packing material, but after seeing the box after shipping, can understand the need. Love the assembled piece and my 75" TV fits perfectly. Had issues on the shipping side, but the seller engaged and got it delivered. Would definitely recommend! ... show more
