If you know someone that wants to learn how to play, and would be a younger beginner student, then this is the trumpet to get. It comes with everything they need to get started, except maybe for lessons. It has the cleaning brushes, and even comes with a pair of white gloves (for people like me that have to touch everything), but is actually very good to have when it comes time to clean it. The case is also very much nicer than the case I had when I first leaned to play in elementary school. The sound is also quite good, way better than y first student trumpet, and I was surprised at how rich it sounds, considering it's made for a student|beginner. In all, it is worth the price, and looks very nice right out of the box. It would make a great gift for someone who wants to learn. I keep saying a younger person, but you could literally be any age and would be fine with this, because it comes with a third valve finger ring to allow you to change the hand position. I had no problems with it at all, and it has a very bright sound. I had expected it to be standard student muddy sound, but it's quite close to the sound from mine (which costs many times more). In any case, I'm giving this to my nephew, who has said many times recently that he would like to learn to play. His mom (my sister) will likely kill me, but I think that everyone should learn to play an instrument. Just because they don't teach you in school any more, doesn't mean it's not worthwhile to learn. Being able to play an instrument, even if you aren't going ot join a band, is really quite nice.

What a great trumpet for a beginner. This is a very well made brass trumpet with a gold finish. It's lightweight and easy to hold and can accommodate for a bigger hand or a smaller hand. The sound is rich and full The Pistons are smooth they don't stick they slide up and down easily. It comes with a 7c mouthpiece that's a little deeper so beginners have an easier time with learning and practicing. It's got a nice hard case it comes with It also comes with the white gloves and your cleaning tools It also has a strap to carry it on your back if you're taking it to school or just out and about with it easier to transport that way. This is a well crafted trumpet in B-flat again perfect for someone just beginning It's got a nice full rich sound The Pistons slides smoothly up and down no sticking It's just an all-around great trumpet for beginner. I've gotten other products from this company and everything so far has been top-notch In my opinion and this trumpet is no different I definitely recommend it I think it's a great value for what you're getting.

...but this seems like a nice beginner kit. As far as I can tell, it comes with everything that someone new to the instrument would need, including cleaning brushes, a cloth, and gloves. I was hoping our kids would get into guitar, but they haven't really latched onto that instrument yet. I thought that maybe having a trumpet around would spark some musical creativity. Our 3-year-old was surprisingly able to make a decent trumpet-like sound with it. Both of the kids had fun trying to figure it out. It comes in a nice, padded case, so it'll be safe until they're ready to give it another go. The case seems to have gotten a bit damaged either in shipping or before they sent it out, but it still seems sturdy enough to keep the trumpet safe and sound. I think we're going to have fun with this thing.

This horn includes everything a budding trumpet player needs to get started. It may not be a Bach, but the fit and finish are very nice, and it's much more affordable than those rental programs that many schools offer. I'm not a trumpet player, but did earn my BA at Berklee College of Music. If I can give one piece of advice it would be to spend a little more to give a beginner a good quality instrument. It makes learning much easier and fun, and your child will be more likely to stick with it. I prefer this to plastic horns which tend to be louder and of lesser quality. Better to go with a nicer horn, especially considering the excellent value this kit provides! There's a case, cleaning kit and mouthpiece (which should be upgraded once your musician learns the basics).
